She said it was average for my age group. I said is this a deal breaker, she said no, but I have learned they lie. I think when they say no about cut-offs and deal-breakers they mean "we have lots of expensive donor eggs for you".
Anyway, on to clomid challenge test.
On the bright side, my husband has super sperm!

Jeez - I would think average for your age group would be just fine! Come to think of it, I have heard that they are hasty to send people the egg donor route, and I know they've had radio ads in the area seeking egg donors for years.
Are they making you do the CCT with them? That seems like it's something any office could administer.

I am pregnant from treatment at CCRM and in their defense, nobody ever tried to convince me to use donor eggs. I have also never heard a radio ad for egg donors. But, each to their own....I'm just glad to be pregnant!

Sorry about the disappointing results. I thought you might feel better to know that I had a 0.6 AMH w/them and I still got pregnant the first time I made it to retrieval. I was "only" 36, though, so that may have helped.
They told me not to worry about the AMH. No one ever brought up donor eggs to me, either.
Hope your CCT goes well! I know it's nerve-wracking.
I have already been asked to use donor eggs. I was also told that I might not be allowed to cycle depending on my FSH in the CCT. That means thousands of dollars gone and not even given a chance. Hey if they let me cycle and I get pregnant, great. But I would certainly caution others that if they are going there (as I am) because they have the best rates for older women 41-42, that those rates are based on having certain test results. Surrey told me point blank if one of my FSH levels was above 15 I was not allowed to cycle.
I just wish I was told that on the phone before I went there, before we did all the tests and before I paid 4000 dollars, that is all. And I asked about that on the phone and was told, not cut-offs. That is where I have a problem.

oh and nicaliw....I think Kerrpuppies lives in the area and that is why she heard ads and why would any program not advertise. They need donors so those of us who have low egg reserve have a chance to have babies.
Not a bad thing at all. My issues was the whole problem with money up front and being told no cut-offs, repeating lots of tests I recently had brought documentation in for, and then being told that I may have spent all that money for nothing as I made it clear from call number one that I was going there to cycle one last time.
My old clinic is excellent but I moved 3000 miles away from it. I may now be traveling back to cycle there. Bummer.
Hey and I hope to be a pg CCRM patient myself. I just want them to give me a chance, just one chance is all I am asking!

I hope you get your chance, Lynniecat. I had been following your story w/CCRM from another thread. I'm worried, too, about having to take the CCCT with them next year after what you said.
Follow it and you'll see who the clinic sponsor is. I started hearing these ads when I was about 26 and actually considered donating my own eggs at one point. Even went so far as to start to complete the paperwork. I've heard them again as recently as last year.
I personally thing egg donation is a wonderful thing. But the ethics of it are questionable if you exclude women who want to try to use their own eggs first and want to force them to go this route if it means better statistics. Again, not basing it on personal experience here, just what I've heard from others.
Nicaliw, I would highly doubt at 33 with male factor being the problem that any clinic would have suggested you use an egg donor unless they uncovered issues with your ovaries/eggs as well.

I know my chances are low, but I has a twin preg in feb and one baby was 100 percent normal by CVS (IE all chromosomes examined). It was my lupus that did the baby in and now I know the meds I need to stop it from happening again.
Yes, CCRM is great if they let you in the program, but they specifically talk about their great success for women who are 41 and 42, that is why I went there! I went because they have great numbers for women using their own eggs in my age group and told me on the phone that their are no cut-offs for IVF. Thus I though, wow, it might cost me thousands, but I am getting the best possible chance for my own eggs. Then I arrive and after I pay all the money and at the very end of the day, the doctor tells me I need to do a CCT and that if I am above 15 on either day, he will not cycle me, no matter what. Does not matter if I sign waivers saying I know the chances are low, does not matter. He will not cycle me. If I had known this, I would not have gone there, or at least I would have insisted on the CCT FIRST as I know my problem is not getting PG, its low reserve!
So I hope I make the cut-off. I would likely go to San Diego or Atlanta for donor eggs if I get there (or use a friend/relative).
Thanks you guys for so much support!

No question CCRM is good at their craft, but if they achieve their rates in a selected population, how can we really know they are better than another clinic? Invalidates the comparison.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
So have I been duped in going there when I was at Shady Grove (an excellent clinic). Is CCRM for me personally going to be better than Shady Grove or are they going to exclude me when Shady Grove would not. Then if you take the numbers with cut-offs into account, it could turn out that Shady Grove has a HIGHER success rate. No way to really know.
But, I will do another Shady Grove round and they offered to work with me as a long distance patient, just as CCRM would. So for me only difference it the flight will be longer to get there for those 10 days or so that I have to be local to the clinic. However, I have a free place to stay in MD (where Shady Grove is)!
