Re: twin mamas-must have bed rest to reach 36-40 weeks?

I was also concerned about money but I didn't really have a choice. I was out for a total of six months. Maternity leave at my workplace is considered short-term disability. So I was immediately put on short-term disability when I was told by the docs to stay home. After 6 weeks it moved into long ...

Re: twin mamas-must have bed rest to reach 36-40 weeks?

Hi Zoegirl,

I was placed on modified bedrest by my Doc at 15 wks after getting a cerclage due to an incompetent cervix. Oddly enough he doesn't believe wholeheartedly in bed rest but said "it wouldn't hurt". Even if I didn't technically stay in the bed he didn't want me going to work. Actually they ...

Hey Tara! The twins are getting about 24 oz a day. They get a cup with each meal.

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Hi ladies!!! It's been so long and everyone is sooo quiet! I just wanted to check in to see how everything is going with everyone. I miss chatting with you guys! We are sooo busy with the twins so I'm sure that's been the case with you.

The twins are both walking fairly well...Jos is a pro now and ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Aww, happy birthday Ren & Piper!!!

Tara, the twins Birthday is on the 27th. Since it's right after Thanksgiving, we'll just have something small with family. Probably just cake and a few decorations...nothing big. I figured I'd go all out in the coming years when they are old enough to know what's ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Hey ladies! I haven't been on here in forever!!! Things are going well with the twins. Joslyn has taken steps and seems to get more and more comfy with walking everyday. Chaz is too much of a clown to walk  We try to get him to take steps and he pushes up on his tip toes and lunges forward and ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

We were getting frustrated with the twins because it seemed they would eat nothing unless it's completely pureed. So then we tried handing them a cracker and they at least "tried" to get it to their mouths. Over the weeks they've gotten better and better and crumbs still get all in their laps, the ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Tara, it must be common because wondercat's description is EXACTLY what Chaz does!! From the begining he's always got into the worst mood as soon as he sees the bowl and spoon comming. He stares at me with the meanest look as if to say "how dare you treat me like a baby and spoon feed me". I always ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Hi Everyone!

dys24, sorry about the BFN :( . Good luck on your fresh cycle! I agree that the babies are much more fun now! Before I was always worried if I was actually teaching them anything or helping them develop because all they did was eat, sleep and poop  . To see them exploring ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Hi everyone!

Tara , so so sorry to hear about your father! My condolences to your family. The twins have had chicken, beef and turkey (in jar food) but no eggs yet. We are just starting to feed them things from the table. They are sampling things off the menu at day care and I offer them a little ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

This board has been super quiet! You'd think you ladies were busy or something!!  We just finished moving into a new house. Let's just say I was actually happy to come back to work after a week off moving!

My twins are growing like little weeds. Chaz is sitting up on his own and we've ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Thanks ladies for the tips on feeding. I feel like I have a little direction now. :)

aims, I'm sorry your hubby has to go through that. I know kidney stones suck! I'll include him in my prayers tonight!

Medstudentmom2B, my twins switch back and forth. Intitially Joslyn was extremely laid back ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Tara, I read that you don't have to start with rice cereal. People usually do because it's easy for them to digest and it's a food they are least likely to be allergic to. We tried rice cereal first and the twins weren't crazy about it. I then tried peaches and they loved it! Then I tried mixing ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Yess!! The diarrhea and diaper rashes are gone! woohoo!! :D We're back to being a pretty happy family now.

MedStudentMom2B, I've slowly started to wean the twins off their pacifiers. I noticed that DH and I had developed a bad habit of offering it to them even when they might not need it. So I ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Oh my goodness Tara! Faith is ADORABLE!

As far as sleeping, I use to rock the twins or put them in their swing until they fell asleep. But then I started to put them in their cribs when they showed the first sign of being sleepy. We've made betime between 7:00 - 8:00. Before they fall completely ...
