Re: How were your eggs fertilised?

Thanks all for your contributions. One thing that is happening to me is I am kind of getting over it if you know what I mean....in fact if I hadn't told myself that I would do 4 cycles I might give it a miss....I have no faith in the doctors. But what an amazing group of women you all are.

Re: How were your eggs fertilised?

Sure I agree with you, but I am not having trouble fertilising. On the last cycle 10 out of 12 eggs fertilised and in the first cycle they all fertilised. What I was trying to find out is why the RE insisted that the eggs really shouldn't be left overnight unless there is a problem and from the sper...

DNA fragmentation test

Has anyone had a few cycles of IVF before the doctor ordered a DNA fragmentation test? If so, after that test, did anyone use ICSI and have a successful cycle following previously negative cycles?

Re: How were your eggs fertilised?

Hi again

I am getting good fertilisation but RE was commenting more on the negative effects of leaving the eggs exposed to the sperm overnight

How were your eggs fertilised?

Hi all I went to see a new RE today who looked concerned when my eggs were left overnight in the dish with DHs sperm instead of about 15 minutes on my last cycle. He has also ordered a DNA fragmentation test (I have asked other drs for this and they are so lackadaisical! He said they would do ICSI i...

Re: Best USA clinics for over 42s PLEASE HELP

Had my phone appointment with SCRC. Have to say that the answers were the same as the Aussie doctors...weren't even willing to commit to transferring more than 2 embryos so really....what's the point? Have decided to do the next and final 2 cycles in Australia and then reassess. Not sure if I would ...

Re: Best USA clinics for over 42s PLEASE HELP

Well.....my plans for treatment in the USA have hit a roadblock. I can't find an insurer who is willing to cover me for medical treatment in the USA. Lloyds of London will apparently do it for $100,000! Because I am not an expat, I wouldn't be covered by the type of insurance which I could get here ...

Re: What do do next?

I am no expert or even a lay person... but it sounds like it could be an issue with implantation if you are transferring that many good embryos. Has the RE run tests on vitamin D, etc which can impact implantation? the following blog mentioned the effects of vitamin D deficiency today http://40somet...

Interesting reading material about IVF

Hi all I have just finished reading 2 books from opposite perspectives. You may recall the Carolyn Savage and Shannon Morrell embryo mix up. Both have written books... http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Misconc ... 1439193617 And http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Inconce ... 0062004635 I can highly recom...

Re: Best USA clinics for over 42s PLEASE HELP

Cookie - no advice, just wanted to sympathize -- here in Israel there are strict rules on how many embryos you can transfer -- and I'm allowed to transfer only one at a time. Major suckitude. I know twin pregnancies are less than ideal, but multiple BFN cycles suck too. Thanks for the sympathy. I w...

http://www.theage.com.au/lifestyle/cele ... 24t69.html This sort of story always interests me as you just never know when they are using donor eggs... Collette Dinnigan is a very well known Australian fashion designer and apparently tried IVF for years before conceiving at 46....naturally.... I am n...

Re: Best USA clinics for over 42s PLEASE HELP

Thanks ladies. Yes CCRM wants me to go there twice and that's not an option. I have already had all of the tests they want done again and in my view that's too inflexible... Boy, it ain't easy.... It's looking like Southern California. I have seen the dr there on a few videos and I like his manner. ...

Best USA clinics for over 42s PLEASE HELP

Hi everyone You may have been following my thread on over 40s.... I am at my wits end here in Australia. No one will transfer more than 2. SO I am coming to the States...I want to be in a position to say that I tried everything I could.... I was thinking of the centre for human reproduction in NYC. ...

Re: Success stories in early 40s

SueQiwi We have decided to do 4 rounds so I am now half way through. I have written to the clinics here and requested that they transfer more than 2 embryos given the statistics and limited risks in my age bracket. I am not expecting a positive response...they are so conservative. At this stage, all...
