Diarrhea

My 5 month old twins were put on amoxicillin for ear infections back in early April. It was then that the diarrhea started. They STILL have diarrhea!!! I believe initially it was due to the amoxicillin but later it was the result of a virus. It's been over a month now and we're still dealing with it...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Aims, I understand! It was crazy trying to manage DH's CRAZY family! You'd think they'd be a little more cooperative seeing that it was most of their first times seeing the twins! But don't get me started . So we didn't have much free time either. AFM, Jos FINALLY slept through the night again ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Wow! I am SO out of the loop! I haven't been getting my alerts again  I've had so much going on with the twins lately that I haven't had time to do anything else!! The fussiness we were experiencing from Joslyn turned to be an ear infection! Chaz also had one. Neither showed the typical signs ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

dys24, no I don't think the fever is from her cold. I do think it may be from teething. Your DD is drinking 7 oz?! I feel like Chaz should be drinking more. He's up to 6. Whenever we think we need to up it, he starts to lose his appetite and not eat as much. Jos is always about an ounce behind him s...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Kelly , Chaz's head is also flat. Actually REALLY flat in the back. We have our 4 month appt tomorrow so I'll ask the pedi how serious he thinks it is. I read some places that it will correct itself and I've seen where others have to get a helment. I really hope we don't have to get one. Amy, I jus...

Re: twins seeping patterns

Are you feeding on demand? It may help to set a schedule. DH and I were fine with them both being up at the same time when we're both there to feed them, but DH works 24 hr shifts at times which means I have them some nights alone. So I would stick to a strict schedule and wake one up to feed and th...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Hey ladies. dys24, IUD = intrauterine device. It's a T-shaped plastic thing that they insert into your uterus. It can stay there and prevent pregnancy for up to 5 years. You can have it taken out at any time though. Tara, we have had quite a few warm days in NC now. The twins have yet to stay awake ...

Re: How long do you have to take progesterone?

I was initially told to use PIO until I was 10 weeks pregnant. I stopped at 10 but then found out my cervix was shortening very quickly around 15 weeks (not that stopping had anything to do with my weak cervix). After getting a cerclage at 17 weeks I was put on progesterone suppositories. I stayed o...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Tara, not sure what to suggest about the carrier. It gets heavier the bigger they get! I don't carry mine too much though because handling the 2, they always go straight to the snap 'n go stroller. With the night feeding, we use powdered formula so we keep cans in the nursery along with a case of bo...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Tea, when DH is working I do bathe them by myself. I'll put Chaz in his swing and bath Jos, get her dressed for bed, swaddle her up and put her in the swing with her paci. She's usually knocked out within 5 mins! Then I do the same for Chaz. I can get both of them done pretty quickly. They seem to e...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

I didn't have to compress but I did grab the pic from facebook so it's probably already been compressed! Now that you mention it, I'm sure them attending daycare has a lot to do with them sleeping through the night! They are exhausted by evening. They take a few naps at daycare and the rest of the d...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Tara, the closer the twins get to 3 months (which is this Saturday) the longer they've been sleeping. Chaz was eating every 3 hours (could have been the Gentlease...not sure). Just last week week they started to skip the midnight feeding but was still waking up around 3 which meant I'd have to feed ...

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Aww too cute Amy! Chaz is on Gentlease and it works wonders for him. I don't even give him gas drops anymore. The doc wanted him on Enfacare at least during the day but it made him SO gassy that I made a mommy decision to take him off and go strictly Gentlease. He's much happier now!

Re: Nov/Dec 2009 Babies

Wow, I came here and thought I was on the wrong site at first! LOL When did they make all the changes?? Tara , we've started bathing the twins every night during the week and sponge baths on the weekend. Only because it's part of a routine to get them to bed by 8:00. Usually after the bath they sett...

Just had my twins in December. I'm currently driving a Chevy Tahoe. And although there is plenty of room for the twins and all their stuff, it's just not practical! The seats are to high when lifing up the carriers to snap them in. Tight parking spaces are a nighmare when having to swing the doors o...
