Re: Success stories in early 40s

Thanks Margi. I saw how many rounds you had to go through and I really admire that but my age is against me and I really think I have left it too late. I also think that those chemicals are very taxing on your body. If there were better odds of a pregnancy I might think differently but I could go th...

Re: Success stories in early 40s

Thanks Sue. Got a full on period today so at least I can stop the progesterone. No....the ride is over for me. I don't want to put my body through that again. Going back to my 3 Rs which work every time....red wine, running and retail therapy. Good luck! Xox

Re: Success stories in early 40s

Ok so I did the hpt 14 days past EC. BFN. Nurse at the clinic says that Monday's blood test will simply confirm that result. Just don't know whether it is worth the stress and upheaval of another round at my age. Think that horse may have bolted. I really felt awful with all of those chemicals...

Re: Success stories in early 40s

Thanks.....and then I tested again today....another BFN. I have kind of prepared myself now for the BFN on Monday. I know that sounds negative (pardon the pun) but its how I cope....

Re: Success stories in early 40s

I did something REALLY dumb today. I did a home pregnancy test 6 days post transfer. BFN. Why did I do that? So unlike me. Call me crazy but I can't stand this waiting. Thing is, I know how unreliable those tests are at this stage but I was like a moth to the light....." I can't help iiiiiiiiiiiiiii...

Re: Success stories in early 40s

I read a few of your earlier posts and I think you had 2 good blasties and 2 morulas. :D Unlikely that I'm going to be pregnant then as its undoubtedly your blasties that took off. I'm not really holding out much hope :|

Re: please help

I think that's the price for the treatment. If you were covered under Medicare you'd get about half of that back. Have a look at IVFAustralia.com.au. That's the clinic I am using. I'd give them a call and ask....worth a call xox good luck.

Re: please help

Sue So sorry for your loss. Im sure words cant describe.... I am in Sydney. We have a lot of clinics here and cash price is 5000 cheaper than the price you quote per round.... I don't know what your situation is but it might be worth exploring as airfares are so cheap. Maybe you know someone here? ....

Re: Success stories in early 40s

Thanks CarolineP! Being a lawyer I think I am a natural sceptic about stats....I was one of those fooled by seeing no end of celebrities popping out children in their 40s and thinking there is time.... I suspect a lot are using donor eggs? I don't know. That's a great option for many but already hav...

Success stories in early 40s

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. I recently turned 43 and have a 14 year old daughter. I'd love to have a child with my partner. I had my transfer 3 days ago at day 5 of one compacted morula and 1 good morula. I'd love to hear from people about success stories for the early 40s....I have a small ...

I had my first ivf cycle this month. I had a 5 day transfer 2 days ago of 1 good morula and one almost blasti (compacted morula). I ...
