Stimms can be tough!

Hi Corinna, Boy I feel your pain! Stimms can be a stressful time - somewhat exciting cause you're "doing something" but remember your hormones are raging (2000, OMG!!), you're bound to feel yucky and down. BevT mentioned the professionals wouldn't be doing this if they didn't think there was a ...

Thoughts re: Insurance

HI - been thinking about your question re: insurance. Bottom line I think if they get pressure to cover, over time they will. But they're not going to give anything up without a fight. My DH and I have great insurance and chose a higher cost plan because they cover up to $10K lifetime. The first ...

Another July Tester

Hi All! I'm looking forward to seeing how you're doing and sending positive thoughts your way.

My ET is tomorrow - don't know the "score" of my embies yet but I told them to just use the cutest ones and freeze the rest. :) I think we'll have 5 frozen so that will give us more chances if we need ...

IM=intramuscular

not sure if I'm using the right acronym but I meant intra-muscular when I used IM. Maybe I should have used TBSO for the Big Scary One, haha

Shots

Tonia and LM, how are you doing with your shots so far? I was SCARED OUT OF MY MIND but I'm lucky my DH was more than happy to stick me (ha) and that has helped. The first time he had to give me IM shot I kept chickening out, he finally told me to put the pillow over my head and shut up, I barely ...

Mild OHSS

Thanks Lisa - they checked me out and I have a mild case of OHSS - as long as fluid doesn't leak into my abdomen or whatever we're clear for the ET tomorrow so I am relieved! Lesson learned - listen to our bodies and call the dr. if we're concerned, don't be afraid your just a hypochondriac.

I was ...

Pain after Retrieval?

Have any of you experienced abdominal pain after egg retrieval that wasn't related to OHSS (hyperstimulation). I had the procedure Monday with mild bloating and pain - it's been two days and getting worse. I'm not gaining weight which is what they told me to watch for but I'm more bloated now and ...

Hi - sorry I don't know what ORM stands for. I was under anesthesia and had the catheter with the retrieval but will be awake for the transfer. Not feeling great but think that's just from lying around in bed all day - I shouldn't complain!! Glad to hear your shots are going well so far - those ...

You'll be okay!

Hi there - welcome to IVF. I didn't know what on earth I was getting myself into (haha) but it's all worth it. Find a way to relax, meditate, whatever because you'll be going through lots of ups and downs and will need some way to maintain a balance.

I found it tough to talk with my friends in the ...

Due to my age they're only tranferring 2 back - go in Thursday then on bedrest 3-4 days. Keeping my fingers ...

thanks Tonya for the OHSS description - found that great list of acronyms in the sticky as well. Appreciate all of you for putting that together for us newbies!

I have to say, reading through past posts have helped me level-set expectations so I'm prepared if/when my cycles fail. Here I thought the ...

Newbie from Texas starting IVF w/ICSI

Hi everyone - it's nice to find a forum like this to share information. I'm new to forums and relatively new to IVF and don't know all the acronyms in both worlds yet so please be patient.

Here's my story in brief - I'm 34 and hubby is 40. We've been married 4 years and have a 9 year old daughter ...
