Amy--You should so not be apologizing to us right now! I'm so sorry--it's just crap news.

Amy - I am so, so sorry. I don't even know what to say. I know it must be so hard. It is like you get your hopes up and then they are dashed so quickly - it sucks!! I am just really sorry. I wish I had something to say that would make it all go away, but I know there are no words for that right now. It is just so unfair. I hope you are hanging in there.....

Amy: Ahhhhh, d@mn it all to hell. I hope you are eating lots of chocolate, drinking lots of alcohol and caffeine, and taking long bubble baths.

Fee: welcome back, my dear. I was starting to wonder where you were. And now I know... you were scouring your laundry for evidence of flies inbetween loads. Hmmmm. OCD and lying on depression screens. Hmmmmmm. As for digital SLRs, my new on is a Nikon D80. Previously I had a Canon Powershot which is actually an ultra-zoom, not a SLR, but I was very happy with it. Having said that, I love my Nikon. No really, I carry the thing around with me now  . It takes fabulous pictures and even my dh is impressed. My understanding is with the Digital SLRs, you are pretty safe with either Canon or Nikon.

I survived dinner with my "friend"--- although I would have much preferred Fee's suggestion of our assistants having dinner, which would have meant I could have remained at home curled up on the couch. Alas, I went to dinner and it was fine. I'm good now for another six months!!!

The lupron headaches are kickin' my a$$. And that is something considering I have had migraines for years. I told dh yesterday to remind me I NEVER want to do this again (or at least not without a large prescription of narcotics ) I vascillate wildly between being excited and being nervous about this FET. Most days I just try to distract myself so I don't think about it. The "kids" will be thawed in 9 days (but who's counting? )

Hellooo

Amy, how are you doing?? Wish I could come over and go on some sort of drinking bender with ya if it would make you feel better. Thinking about you and hoping you are OK.

Sass, 9 days to go. Way to go on self distraction. Hope you can manage the suspense over the coming 9 days. Would you like us to help with distraction? I'm thinking of writing a soap opera set in an IVF clinic. I think between us we have amassed a good bunch of characters. I mean Angie's Dr D whilst having a taciturn bedside manner has a deeply passionate side when it comes to his colleagues (unbeknownst to Angie). I have it on good authority that he has slept with most of the staff at the clinic (both sexes). He is known behind his back as McRooty.

Don't you worry about my OCD, I have managed to conquer my phobia of flies but now have a bit of an anxiety about meningitis...Plus am getting back into exercise which assisting with my mental health. I also have the delightful distraction of DH's whole family descending on us. They are an éxcitable bunch (that's a nice way of putting it). Let's just say that the last couple of weeks have involved a lot of shouting and fighting and laughing. can 't wait to have my house back.

DH has gone off camera shopping but I doubt he will buy anything because Canon have just released a new camera a couple of days ago that he will want to look at....right now anything would be better than our little point and shoot. We have a lot of really crappy photos of the baby which is disappointing. Congrats on surviving dinner. Glad to hear your mate wasn't too much of a monster.

Well I'd better get off and try to erradicate some more germs.

Fee

Hi Fee - good to read you. I'm sure it is only a small step from worrying about cleaners and their cleaning cloths to obsessing about flies on laundry - I'll be with you soon I'm sure! In the meantime Nogs will be the cleanest little boy in WA!

Sassy - not long for you. I'm excited about your mega thaw. Happy snapping with your new camera.

Jenn - you're going to have baby soon! I'm excited for you too.

Hi to tina, meg, amy, robbo.

I'm feeling rather normal these days which is good - worrying and excited about the big scan next week - I'm hoping wombat's bits and pieces are all in the right place.

Quite bemused at all the strangers' comments I'm getting. This was the best:

Man in shoe menders who mended my shoes: "So have you decided on a name for your son?"
Me: "How do you know it's a boy?"
Man in shoe shop: "Ahh, I am a gypsy and can see into the future....?!!"

Bizarre, I can tell you!

Patie! A long lost sister returns. Of course you're welcome (although you might have some sort of punishment coming your way for being gone so long--Attorney General Amy can dole that out!)

What's new with you?

Patie: a long lost sista returns!!! Glad to hear from you. How are things in Dubai? As for punishment... as my mom used to say... 100 slaps with a wet noodle  So what is going on with you?

Fee: Oh yes, a sisterhood soap opera. Perfect! the sisterhood broadway musical was such a smashing success, I do believe we are ready for primetime (or daytime, I suppose  ). I'm thinking your secretary can provide significant inspiration in this regard. McRooty it is  . (Angie, hope you don't mind being in the story line, here. You can be the star  ) I think we need a tie-in with Angie's OB to keep the story fluid. Like the OB is Angie's Dr. D's long lost fraternal twin separated at birth b/c they were of different races. See, Dr. D's mother kept OB a secret from her dh since it would be obvious she had stepped out on him. You know, something nice and sordidly complicated like that. I will have to start watching soaps to get more ideas. Maybe there can be a new staff member at the clinic...

Angie: a boy, huh? Quite confident, he is! We will have to start working on nicknames...

I have started a few new projects in an attempt to distract myself for the next week or so. I took pictures of old pictures my grandmother gave to my father before she passed away. Then I repair them using photoshop on the computer. My plan is to put them into a photo book (like on blurb.com) to preserve them for the rest of the family. It is going pretty well but ate up most of my weekend... which was a good thing!

The lupron headache has finally loosened the vice-like grip it had on my head  Bless you, estrace!

Patie! Of course you can come back! How are you doing?

Sassy- My mom used the wet noodle on me too! Good luck on your distractions. The photo restoration sounds interesting. I love looking at old photos of the family. There aren't many on my mom's side, her house caught fire when she was younger and they lost most of her baby pics. and other family photos. Keeping them on computer is a great idea!

Ok, all the sudden I don't feel so good. Going to lie down and I'll be back later...
Jenn

Good morning ladies....what's up with me???? hmmmm....let's see

Work wise it's good (Thank god); issue 8 of the magazine is in printing as we speak!!! DH is not envolved in it as he used to be, he's concentrating on his work now...which is far better if u may ask...less arguing...

I travelled to the states in December, went to San Diego for an exhibition (I fell in love with this city....seriously); then went to Houston to spend xmas with the inlaws and my nephew also came from Lebanon...so we had a great time; and it was the first time my DH's family gather since our wedding (since five & half yrs...)
There i met with a Dr.... he did one test for me (which i'm ashamed to admit i don't know the name....); but it's the one where they take a biopsy on day 22nd of the cycle and they check whether there is a specific substance there (i guess protein). If it's there then it's good; if it's not (which might the cause why the embies don't stick)...then i'd have to take Lupron for 2 mths....
I have this thingy so i am off the hook..but he's suspecting now endometriosis!!!! @#%^*#^#..... i'm in denial about this thing....i called my dr. here and he said we shld meet to discuss the Laproscopy.... but again i didn't set the appointment to meet him yet....i am sort of trying to ignore this....I am so confused...

DH said to postpone the planning and everything till summer! and just to try every month for "natural" preg (yeah right)....and then spring time we can discuss this again!
to be honest the magazine is 100% dependant on me...we had a sales manager but she left so i am doing everything (we do have staff) but when it comes to sales, mkt, editing and all....that's me!

Also we have been refered to a new dr. in Lebanon....he's supposed to be really good with new protocols...so i want to go to see him! but again...when??

then i thought....in times like these....i need my sistas (although i do agree with you....i shld be punished! u name the fine! ) but i don't know if anyone went through that phase of denial....man it sucks!

well sorry again for letting u down! and sorry for blabing too much...i'll have to do the personals later because i have some major catching up and reading to do!

Btw did i tell u that i did Kria 2 times, u know the meditation/energy/relaxing thingy and the lady told me that got a message when healing me that i will be having kids but not from my DH!!
imagine hearing that!!!!

anyway! miss you all....

Hello ladies! I've been gone a long time. Some of you might remember me from many months to ago. The twins keep me very very busy. In fact one of them is calling out for a diaper change right now. Anyway I checked in to see if anything is new and I see that Sassy is doing her FET soon. :) ....

OK, I am back from diaper duty.

Sassy,
I just want you to know that I am thinking of you and wishing good things for you. Sticky baby dust. I just know this is it.

I'll check in again when I get a chance. Have a great day ladies!

Patie~ I didn't know you had family here in Houston! Glad you had fun! Just wanted to let you know that I have endometriosis. I had the Laporoscopy before the IVF treatment. The surgery is NOT bad at all. Not very hard to recover from either. Just a couple of days of doing nothing. I had it on a Friday and was back at work Tuesday. And that was probably more time off than I needed, but I had the sick days built up so I took them! The Lap. is a good surgery to look for endo. because if they find it they take it out right there. I had a friend who just had an ultrasound to look for it and then if they found it they would have scheduled surgery, but I don't know how you would see it on an ultrasound?? I told her I think she wasted her time! I had never heard of anyone else looking for it that way. Anyway, they cleaned me out and I got pregnant on the second IVF cycle. Just wanted to share my experience of it with you! Take care!
Jenn

Hey Jenn! thanks for the feedback....well it's difficult to know via ultrasound! but what made the dr. suspect is that my ovaries looked a bit cyctic and i had abdominal pain....so it was either i was ovulating (which i was) or endometriosis....and also i guess from the test something else alarmed him...so i guess it's better also to get done with it and take a step further...

Amy...i'm sorry for the nega... but hopefully next time it 'll be better...i am the last one that can motivate because i need it myself but i'm sure at some point we will be changing diapers :P

Mia...how r u lady! congratulations on the twins....i am so happy for u seriously... seems they r keeping u busy in diapers land :P hugs and kisses for them!

Sassy...6 more days to go??? how's the photos project going on??
