April Cycle Buddies- Come Join the fun!!!

Post by doddo72 » Fri Feb 09, 2007 2:05 am

Although I am new, I thought I would start the cycle buddies group for April 2007. I should be starting Lupron the first week of April, and I am sure you know the rest. This is my first IVF Cycle. I am nervous!!!

I have 4 boys from a previous marriage. After my fourth child, I thought I never wanted any more again! Well, now that I am remarried, we decided we would like to have a child together. My tubal reversal was not a success and we are going to start our first IVF cycle soon. We went to the consultation today. In February cycle, they are doing a chlomid test on my and then after my march period starts, I will be taking lupron and birth control pills. (this is all if my husbands sperm are ok.

I am so excited, but scared, and nervous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am located in Ohio. I can't wait to meet other women out there that I can relate too. To be honest, my husband gets sick of hearing me talk about it. I know he fells less of a person to have to leave a donation at the doctors and that we can't have any kids the "natural" way.

Talk to you soon!

Donna :P :)

Hi all,

I am going to start my 2nd IVF cycle in April. I am very excited about it. My first IVF cycle was a negative result because of the protocol they used. The Dr said my body must have been too sensitive to the medications and all of my eggs came out bad. We are using different protocol this time around so I am curious and excited to see what happens. Good luck to all of you. Lots of baby dust.

How come your first IVF failed because the wrong protocol was used, aren't you cross with your clinic?? surely they should have known what was needed???

This is worrying, as i am about to start 1st IVF, i wonder how they know to use the right meds???

Good luck honey!!

They told me that because I am 25 they used a normal protocol that they would use on someone my age. Going into the first IVF all we thought we were dealing with was a sperm issue with my husband. Now they see that I may have a slight egg problem and need to be more sensitive to that. The drugs that they used were too harsh for me. She said all I need is a little fine tuning with different med's my eggs should be better. We shall see. Unfortunately they could not tell this before we did the IVF. The Dr that I am seeing is the best around were I live. They didn't seen too concerned about the situation. All I have is hope.

Hi everyone,
hope i am in the right spot i start my BCP hopefully 1 week of march please let me know if i should be somewhere else.
Have been with my DH for 15years and have known we had problems for 10years but alot has gone on and we have just come up with the funds.
I had quiet a big accident and have been trying to get my pain under control before starting IVF to give it the best chance.
We have had all test done and i got the all clear after having alot of endo and cyst removed in 2002. Dh has very low sperm count. But we still have some to work with which is the main thing :) .
Hope i can learn and share my experiences along with you guys and hope to hear alot of good news.
Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone,

I am currently on my TWW but have a feeling that I will be cycling again in April. My clinic had a lab disaster and they threw away three of my embryos so only one was transfered. Since I am 42 the odds of conceiving with only one embryo is slim and they are going to redo the cycle for me if I don't get pregnant. So I would love to hang out with you all! It is such a time consuming and nerve wracking time, it's good to share with someone.

Hi,
We are also hopefully starting our 2nd treatment in April, our 1st treatment failed due to my eggs too buddy101, as i was 29 they used the normal protocol, but most of my eggs produced didn't have a shell or not mature, so this time we are going for the short protocol and ICSI, DH has nothing wrong with sperm, just total dumstruck with my eggs.
Fingers crossed for us all x

Emma,

I am curious to see what happens this time around. I was so devastated when I found out I wasn't pregnant. They kept telling us we had a 75% chance of it working. They didn't really tell me anything about the new protocol they will use on me. I was so depressed I wasn't really paying attention to what they were telling me. All they said is they won't put me on Lupron and we will do a 3 day transfer instead of 5 day. We did a 5 day last time and she said sometimes the eggs do better growing inside the body. I don't know we shall see. Good luck to you.

Kirsten,
We never even got to a transfer stage, my eggs where that bad, they couldn't do anything with them, i was totally shocked, didn't know which way to turn, it took us 6 months to go back to the clinic to see what our options where but they never had any answers which i found really frustrating, they said try again and we'll use a different protocol, so thats what were doing. I felt as f there should be a test they could do to see why or if i'm missing some sort of hormone, but they said its not that easy. So would just like to get to the stage that we know we or i have eggs that can be fertilised, let alone transfer!

Hi everyone,

I hope to be a April cycle buddy with you all. I was on this site a year ago and got a bfp with only two 4 celled embies on day 3 transfer. My beautiful baby girl was born Nov 24 with a severe heart defect and passed away New Years Eve. She was so full of energy and had truly amazing spirit. (she didn't seem to notice she had a heart defect!) I absolutley ache for her and am dying to get back to IVF cycle. It's all that keeps me going. I am a poor reponder and have high fsh, 5 mc's and immune issues. Hoping for a very good month of cycling for us all.

This is a wonderful website and I am so happy to be a part of it. I am waiting for AF after weaning breast feeding and am getting so impatient. My liittle girl had such strength (even after open heart surgery) and I want to make her proud. Many prayers and blessings to us all. I know my little angel will be sending tons of baby dust to us all.
