Well, the common belief is that we ovulate right on the middle of our cycle but when I did my midwifery training in England they taught us that we ovulate 14 days prior to the 1st day of the next cycle. So, I just tried counting on my fingers and, based on a 40 day cycle, I think you would ovulate today! hope this helps. I don't know how reliable this info is cause I have always heard its in the middle of the cycle from everyhwere else.

Hi Anie
Can you not get some of those ovulations pee sticks to help you detect it you can buy them over the internet. have you tried the basal ovulation test to help you detect when it happens if you look on the internet you'll also find signs to look for when your about to ovulate for eg an increase in egg white mucas and the stringyness of it.
Anie, I know just how you feel. I've always had irregular cycles but have discovered during the course of treatment that I always ovulate around 16 days before next AF. I think the average is anything from 12 to 16 days with the pre-ovulation phase being the irregular bit but, as you say, how do you know when 2 weeks before AF is? Some of my longest cycles (upo 63 days) I didn't ovulate at all.
Good luck with working it out
