I read about lots of women taking wheatgrass to lower their FSH levels and as mine was a little high I decided to try it for a month before 2nd FSH test and my FSH level did indeed drop a little.I wondered if anyone else takes wheatgrass and wether I can carry on taking it during IVF.I don't feel comfortable asking my consultant as when I said to him about the wheatgrass lowering my FSH level he was sceptical about it working.I am worried that if I don't take it during IVF then my chances of success are below average but if I do take it would it affect the treatment.Any help with this dilemma would be appreciated.
Yes, it will often lower your fsh but it really doesn't matter. Your fsh is the highest fsh you have ever had. Lowering it does nothing. It is best for your doc to know what your fsh is going into a cycle so they can medicate you appropriately. If you want to lower it to get insurance or to get accepted into some ivf study or something that is one thing. But if you are paying for ivf you want them to have the true picture of your case. Or else they may put you on the wrong protocol. Which means a lot of money thrown away. KWIM?
