Too pissed off to cry!

HI girls...

Got up at 5.45 this morning to beat the traffic to get to our day 8 scan today at 8.30..only to get into the room have the probe and find that only 2 follicles on my right ovary and nothing at all on my left (actually it is completely shut down!) The clinic have now increased me onto 6 powders of stims (which is the max dose that you are allowed to have) and also changed me from Mengagon onto a new FSH which is brand new on the market (been out for 2 weeks). They hope that things may still be okay and have got to go back for a scan on Friday at 2.10...If there hasn't been a miracle and things have started to happen then they said that they are going to cancel the cycle and put me on HRT for 2 months and then in Feb I will try again but dr and stim at the same time on max dose right from the start.

Feel really pissed off..angry..disapointed and let down! Too much so that I can't really..

To add to the emotions my dear friend came around to cheer me up bless her but she is due in Feb and it was making it even harder!!

Anyone else had no response from the stims before and still had the ec and et?

waiting by the screen for your responses...

Love Becky..disappointed..pissed off Becky B
Becky,

Hang on in there! When I went for my second scan it showed that not lot was happening - several v small follicles, but only two that looked to be a decent size; they scanned me two days later (after keeping me on the same amount of stims) only to find that the picture hadn't changed.
What my consultant decided to do was increase my stims (Metrodin) by huge quantities - 2 ampoules were injected there and then at the hospital, I had to have 5 that night, 2 the following morning and then another 5 the next night.
We ended up with 9 follicles, which produced 5 eggs (4 from the left, and only 1 from the right).

I know exactly how you're feeling - I got really worried that I'd done something to affect my follicle production; I also felt that I'd somehow let my dh down, and started to wonder if it had all been a waste of time(and money) - but please don't go down that line. I know it sounds corny, but the staff at your clinic have seen this situation before, and will do all they can to maximise your chances of success.

Unfortunately, none of my FE took, but that doesn't mean to say that you're going to be in the same boat.

Keep your chin up, flower - we're here for you!

Andrea
<><

Hi Becky, please don't give up hope yet. I've had something slightly similar I think in that they were concerned about my (lack of) progress last week and upped the dose from the original 150 to 450 which I've been doing since Saturday, and also changed the drug. When I went in on Monday they still seemed quite concerned but by today were much more positive and when I phoned for my results this afternoon was told it should only be 2 or 3 more days of injections (although probably on the maximum dose). So new drugs and big doses really can make the difference. I'm really hoping that we will be 2wwaiting together very, very soon.

Take care (and keep drinking lots of fluids), lots of love

Alison x

Hi becky

I know just how you are feeling. I went for my day 8 scan today and the news was not very good. I have had a low oestrogen level since starting stims and they have warned me every day that the cycle may have to be abandoned - so have had quite a stressful week. My scan showed that there were 2 fairly decent sized follicles and 7 v small ones, but again warned me that things were not looking all that good.

Back tomorrow for another scan to see if there is any progress - I am already on maximum dose so not sure what they can do. Interesting to read other peoples stories - it has certainly giving me a little bit of hope.

Thinking of you - let us know how you get on
Maybe magic does come if you believe in it!
had my day 10 scan today and things are looking better..lining is now nice and thick and I have 4 follies on each ovary..quite small still I think they said a 7mm 8mm 10mm and 15 mm..all became a blurr after realising that things were starting to happen for us!
I have been told to stick with 6 powders for the next 2 days and then 4 powders from Sunday. We are also going back for another blood test and scan on Monday. My level had increased from 510 to 900 since Wednesday so they seems pleased with the increase.
I should still be going for ec and et next week ..but not getting to excited about that bit yet.still a little way to go..
Thankyou all for you kind and supporting words...

Love Becky b

Hi Becky - hurray! I'm pleased for you but grumpy for me as I thought I'd be taking the big injection tonight and going in on Sunday, but they want me to go in for another blood test tomorrow and were talking about possibly another scan and blood test on Sunday. I'm feeling really uncomfortable and just want to GET ON WITH IT! Anyway, I suspect we'll be doing at least part of the 2ww together.

Take care

Alison x

Becky

Great news! You must be feeling a little bit more positive about it now. I have my day 10 scan at 9.20 in the morning so hope that my little follicles have managed to grow - I have been talking to them to try and encourage them to grow!! Only worrying thing is that they are still reducing my dose - I am now on half the dose I started off at. I suppose they must know what they are doing.

Good luck for next scan on Monday - that seems ages away. Lets hope we are both having ec and et next week.

Try and stay positive.

Take care

Julie
