Hi Chriss,

Here is the link to it, http://www.babysnark.com/ttc-supplement ... ements.asp

However, I read more of it and it is recommended to eat fresh pineapple, not the juice, to have the enzyme in thining blood which in turn helps implantation. Because pineapple contains Bromelain which is a anticoagulant that breaks down the blood-clotting protein. See this link for more details, http://www.worldhealth.net/p/aadr-brome ... nzyme.html

During my ivf, I ate 3~4 fresh pineapples after embryo transfer (ET), I don't remember the exact day that I started, 3rd or 4th day after ET?, I got BFP. However, eating too much of it is not good, I stopped eating it as a medicine after the preg was confirmed. I still eat fresh apples as fruit, once in few weeks won't hurt.

Good luck,

Yasmina

Hi ladies-
How are ya'll?

Thanks to all of you and your kind words of encouragement. They really mean a lot to me. Somehow, I am able to find comfort in them.

Quick update: Results from the blood work. hCG still high 200 :( and progesterone also high. This may explain the chinese doc asking about my hands being hot. This question confused me at my last acu appt, but now may make since. It appears my body still believes it is preggers :( I am still spotting after the mc, albeit very light. The RE thinks that although most all the tissues were expelled back at the end of Sept that some tissues may still be slowly being expelled and this explains the hormone results. I've been put on antibiotics to prevent infection and in 2 weeks I will have another round of tests to check the levels. my RE thinks [educated guess] that I should have a heavy flow [AF?] within this time frame at which time they will do an HSG to get a better understanding of the surfaces of the uterus and the state of the tubes.

Although I really would like to jump back into tmt, with the holidays I think I'll just chill and let this current status of my body work itself out, perhaps with a little help from the clinic if necessary. No need to add more stress during the holidays. Chinese doc told DH to take me on holidays to go relax. We haven't had one since Sept '06 when we went to the Dominican Republic for some R&R.

Quick question: Have any of you, who have had the misfortune to experience a mc, had similar experience as this taking quite some time for the body to return to a 'normal' state? I don't want to seem impatient [but I am I know]. I'm trying to gain understanding as to if I'm still within the normal recovery. If not I will be a bit more insistant with the RE to investigating more into what may be really at play here.

Yasmina-I'll be adding pineapple back into my diet thanx for the reminder. Another beneficial asspect of pineapple is that it aids in digestion :)

Wishing everyone well. Take care of yourselves

Hi buddies

sorry that i have some heart breaking news, my beta has dropped...Its sad that its all over for this little embie....little one Loved and lost...

the next step is to stop the meds( already done) and Af should arrive in 3-4 days .If not will need a scan then D&C. The clinic said that i should bleed ok as only 5 wks gone, they also said we have been unlucky...
yeah I know that script already. As we have been through this twice before....The only consolation ( spelling???) is that this has been lost at 5 wks and not later on where i know it can be more heart breaking ( as those who have had m/c know only to well x x x)

we have decided to wait until DH's busy schedule at work is over ( Nov-dec) and go for FET in Jan.
the only good thing to come out of this is to say at least i did get preg and I gotta hold onto that...

but as you all know Grief hurts like hell...and time is the only way to mend my & Dh's broken hearts. We have each other and that is a Blessing.

unfortunaltely ,my Parents in law are due up tomorrow for 4 days. Nightmare to have to be so vulnerable to them but Will need to tell them as i will be in floods of tears for a few days...

will catch up with you all soon...

much love to you my buddies my friends my support network . thanks for being there for me

much love to you all as always
love jen

JenB, I am thinking of you and I want you to know that we are here for you to lean on and we understand how painful this is. We care about you and we are here to help you with the heavy load. Throw some of it on us, we can help to absorb the pain and lighten your load. It is good to hear that you are ready with a plan to start again. Stay strong and keep looking ahead. It is important to recognize the loss and to feel your sadness and to express your feelings and then it is time to move ahead. I found that this was the only way to make it through my losses. You have always been a positive and strong force for us, now let us help you. Keep connected to us. I am thinking of you and wishing you well.

Yasmina, thanks for the website info. I think I will try the pineapple, I do have the old clotting disorder, so the pineapple sounds like a good thing for me. How do I know if I am over doing it? How much is too much?

Catharine, when I had my miscarriage in March, I was told to take three months off. My doctors would not even consider treatment for me until that fourth month. I had a D&C which removed the tissue. I felt preg symptoms for a few weeks after the D&C, sore boobs and all. I did not have a beta though so I can not give you the levels. It took about 5 and 1/2 weeks for me to get my period after the D&C. Hope this info helps. Oh yeah, and I don't think I ovulated that month after the procedure.

Speaking of not ovulating, I am at day 25 and still no positive ovulation on the stick. I had a sono on Sat and there looked like there was a follicle near ready. I am going in tomorrow morn to see if it is still there. Wierd. My doctor says by body is re-setting itself. UGH. So tired of all the waiting. I am a professional waiter. All I do is wait, wait, wait. I know you all can relate. We want to do an IUI this month as we WAIT for the IVF cycle. Who knows if I'm even ovulating this month. I JUST WANT A BABY ALREADY! Sorry, sometimes I lose it. Stay well everyone. -chriss

Hi,

Hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend. Good to read all the posts.

Jen – I’m so very sad to hear that your happiness was so short lived and knowing how down you must be. I can imagine it’s tough with having relatives to stay this weekend. Hope you getting enough time for each other, just you and Adam, to get through this difficult time and regain your strength. I’m thinking of you. Keep looking ahead and don’t lose hope. Big hugs xxx

Hi Gracielope – see you are already getting some sound advice from the ladies here and hope you are finding it helpful. How are you getting on with the meds? Sending you some relaxing vibes.

Amy, have you got the go-ahead to continue treatment? Fingers crossed for you and hope all is going well. I have a test for bacteria (tomorrow) and then a scan to check there are no cysts. I’ll probably ask to have prolactin levels tested too as that has been a problem in the past. Sounds like your clinic is very thorough but sorry, can’t help you on what those tests might be.

BigJ – thinking about you and hoping all is going to plan in Kiev!

Catharine – Glad to hear you have got some answers and your clinic is giving your next treatment some good thought. Use the time over the hols to chill and I’m sure you will soon be ready to move on. Hope you will find a solution for getting time off work too.

Andrea, Chriss – any news about your upcoming treatment and when you will be cycling again? Follow your gut feeling and you’ll soon be feeling better about all those decisions. But all this contemplating and waiting is really tough, I know. Hope you get some positive news from your doc over the weekend, Chriss.

LuAnne – how are you and the little ones? Wishing you all the best for your next appointments. Stay around and keep us updated. It’s great to have good news around here.

Tammy – hope you are finished with sorting and painting your rooms. How does it look?

As for me, I’m moving forward again. Thanks to the meds I’ve been taking, AF arrived dead on time on Nov 4th and if I pass all the tests, meds will start on cycle day 21. Trying to keep a low profile at work and with a bit of luck I won’t have too many business appointments in December.

Hello to all – hope everyone is doing well! Have a good week. It’s a typical November here, stormy cold, and we’ve had snow too. Looking forward to advent…

Sonia

Hi! I believe I've passed all the other tests up till now, so if all goes well with my ultrasound on Friday, I'll start taking meds on Saturday and will have ER & ET at some point before Christmas. DH & I can't wait! Will actually be nice to travel to Austria during December (even with snow) - I read that they have a beautiful Christmas market not far from our clinic --

Sonia, hope everything goes well for your last round of tests and you'll soon get the green light. Don't think the 2ww will be too bad with the holiday season, which is pretty low-key for us. How about you?...Hope your travel for work can be avoided or at least lessened, so as not to add extra stress. Wishing you lots of luck and baby dust! By the way, do you drive or fly to your clinic? How far in advance do you find out when you have to travel?

JenB - hope you & DH were able to hang in there with your weekend with the in-laws, despite your sadness. You are such a positive and supportive person to so many of us. I'm hoping for you and DH that your time will come soon.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Looking foward to reading updates from chriss, andrea, LuAnne, Catharine, Gracielope, BigJ, Yasmina, Tammy and all the rest of the lovely ladies here.

Have a great week!
xx Amy

JenB,

I know that you don't have a husband as pragmatic as mine. My DH was terribly optimistic about our ivf cycles. When I had my first "no embryo transfer" due to OHSS, he said, it’s ok, I rather have YOU alive. When my next cycle was cancelled, he said it’s ok, you have gotten them (embryos) in the tank already. When I got my next BFN, he finally agreed that a consultation with RE and embryologist was necessary. My DH was right at the end, which was 8 long months later!!! His optimistic attitude did not help much when I was not BFP at the each cycle!

I am very sorry that your BFP was short-lived. Hope the next one will stick for another 8 month! Very best wishes to you two.

Chriss, I don't know how much is too much. I read somewhere, you can not have too much of it unless you drink the concentrated extracts. I have very sensitive teeth, I can only eat a maximum of 1/2 of a pineapple a day if I force myself.

Hi to everyone else.

Yasmina

Hi ladies - Just popping in to say hi!

Sorry I've been MIA but there's not alot happening at the moment and I needed to get away from the boards for a wee while to clear my head...

JenB - I'm totally guttered for you and your DH. When you've had time to work through it all, just think, you can now go out and have a damn good Xmas and enjoy all the parties and festivities that come with it this December! Before you know it, it will be January, and a new year that will bring us all the BFPs that we deserve!!! Hope you are feeling better my dear.

Tammy - You have a gorgeous little Winnie the Pooh there! Thanks for posting the pic.

Amy - You sound totally prepped for your next cycle! Austria in winter sounds amazing, especially the Xmas markets near your clinic - Don't get too tempted now...My former clinic was right in the centre of the main shopping district and the nurses always had to tell the patients off for going shopping straight after EC and ET! (Personally, I think you can't beat retail therapy!)

Catharine - Hope your body is settling down now after the mc. I had an evacuation procedure instead of a D&C at 10 wks. I think they must have 'sucked' everything out completely because my cycle went back to normal after a month or so. Just give yourself all the time you need to recover after all your body's been through. What are your docs attributing your hormone levels to?

Sonia - Good luck for your stims - did you manage to get out of all that overseas travel later this month?

Chriss - How's my 'parallel universe' buddy? My doc actually suggested I do IUI this month too whilst waiting for Dec but I've had 3 already whilst waiting and don't think the odds (for me) are worth it.

As for me - I'm going backwards and forwards and up and down like a yo-yo about my next cycle / whether to use DE / change clinics / change jobs etc etc! Too many options and too much time obsessing about babies I think - not a good thing. It's really hard at this time of the year as Xmas is a real family occasion and it's a constant reminder that we're spending yet another Xmas without any children... I once said (stupidly) to DH that we'll not buy a Xmas tree until we have a family of our own (as we've been travelling a lot and it's just more crap to move with us each time...!!) so it's been 6 long years without a tree. How melodramatic! So this year, I thought damn it - let's go all out - and we've bought the hugest Xmas tree you have ever seen with flashing lights, a shining star, the works! Big enough for a massive family one day! (Well - one baby will be enough but who knows??!!)

HI to Yasmina, Gracielope and all the other ladies.

Andrea

Hi Andrea, good to hear from you. I can relate to the "not buying a xmas tree' thing. Sometimes I feel that way to, Why bother baking Christmas cookies with no one to decorate them with? Why carve a pumpkin with no child to enjoy it... etc... etc... But I am proud of you for getting that tree! And I WILL bake cookies this year! About the IUI, we weren't even able to do that this month as I NEVER ovulated!!!! Now I really feel old! I go back in on Sturday to do blood & Sono, & try to figure out what my body is doing at the moment. Hopefully we can start up the IVF cycle. I can't stand waiting. I feel like I am wasting time! I'm thinking about DE too, all the time. Should I just go to it now???? Before the missed ovulation, my doctor sounded positive about me using my own eggs. Let's see what he thinks afther this Saturday. EVERYONE around me is pregnant! Schools been a drag, parents ask me if I have children... UGH! One of my students brought in his mom's sosngram. She's due any minute and he shared the picture with everyone. It broke my hear to see that black & white fuzzy photograph! So Andrea, what is your schedule right now? Are you beginning treatment soon?

Amy, waiting to hear about the ultrasound tomorrow. Thinking of you.

JenBabes, how's it going?

Sonia, how'd the testing go?

Catharine, how are you.

Yasmina and Tammy thinking of you both as well!

I'll touch base again soon. Hello to all I missed. -chriss
