Joy - good luck with ET tomorrow. The clinic sounds great.

Alette - sounds like a +ve to me. Isn't it sad that we don't feel we can celebrate? Like you I had a very early mc after a +ve and now I feel like I'll have to get to 3m or so before starting to relax. No matter, it looks like a great result for you....enjoy the moment.

I'm OK but have been the most snappish woman alive for a week. The move went badly I'm afraid. I wouldn't dream of boring you all with the list of shoddy behaviour the sellers indulged in but it was shocking. Even today nearly a week after they moved out, I'm still finding things they left behind because they couldn't be bothered to shift it all. 50% of the lights weren't working, things fell of walls the second we touched them, 8 doors had unsecured door handles that came off in your hand, they've still got the majority of the front door keys...the list goes on and on. No matter...work has been busy for a couple of days so I've had some distractions. The meds have made me extremely short tempered, I've been downregging for nearly 3 weeks, I can't have a drop of oestrogen left....the end is almost in sight though.

Hugs to everyone,
Debra.

Debra,
The people who left your house in that shape will get theirs.
You can't give out bad karma like that and not have it come back to bite you.
Hope that helps a little.

I've been on vacation this week, so having a hard time keeping up with everyone. We are back in Scottsdale, Arizona seeing my daughters and enjoying some pro baseball spring training games.

I found out today that the doc can't remove my polyps until Aprill 22, which pushes my EC back to early June :(

Guess I'll take my name off of the May list that has started :( I wouldn't be so anxious except at 43, I feel that any day my eggs could dry up. Time is crucial if I'm going to have a prayer of success with my own eggs.

Oh well, it is what it is. If I've learned anything in my life it's to only worry about the things you can control and let the rest be what it will be. :)

Hi Randa, yes I hope their bad behaviour catches up with them soon....they really are sly. In the shower this morning I counted how many things need urgent fixing in that one room alone, 8!

Enjoy the Arizona weather. It snowed again last night....if we could only swap for a day!

You're spot on...I heard the expression 'don't borrow trouble' ie. don't worry about stuff that hasn't happened yet...I try to remember this everyday. Your eggs won't change in a matter of weeks, in fact let's turn this into a postive, you have a little longer to continue your preparation.

Off to work...will help distract me a bit..
hugs
Debra.

Hello All,
Debra - sounds as if you've been having a nightmare with the move. I'm just glad that we won't have those difficulties as we're buying a new house - however, we'll probably have athe fun of finding out all of the things the builders have cocked up!!!!

Randa - I know that haivng your tmt put backa bit is frustrating, but it shouldn't make any difference really. As Debra says - it is a bit longer to prepare. I'm hoping that I'll start the next tmt about then too so we may end up cycling together.

Keep up the PMA all and don't forget to have some fun!!!!

Love

Just a quick update from snowy Kiev! All 10 embies survived. Transfer went well - 4 in me and 6 in the freezer. As I had a day 2 transfer they could not say with any certainty which looked strong/weak. Told me that 20 - 60% don't survive to day 3, let alone implantation - we will see, I already know this place has a track record for multiples!

Not getting my hopes up too much - I've been at this point before. Last time I had two five day blasts of excellent quality and was told my chance of success was over 50%, and I still ended up with nothing...................

Will try and keep off the boards for a bit now till testing day. Trying not to get too wound-up in the 2ww.

Randa - sorry to hear about the delay, but it sounds like you will have a bumper store of embies ready and waiting for you when you decide on a transfer.

Debra - your move sounds like a nightmare - it's never easy, but yours sounds worse than most. Why did they take door handles off?

Hi to everyone else

Joy...way to go! 4 embies...wow! The odds sound great, I understand how you feel about staying off the board but good luck with the 2ww. What is your test date? where will you do it? hpt or a blood test somewhere in the UK?

re. the door handles. I guess they just never shut the doors, we can't imagine how they lived like this but they did. Everything they did was a shortcut, there are things all over the house that are half finished, unsecured, broken etc. Amazing what you don't see in a 30min viewing....However, it's nearly over now. DF is at the hardware shop - again. I live in Ikea and he lives in the DIY shop!

Hugs and congrats on ET. Multiples huh....makes you think!

My online access has been out of order the past few days and I'm just now catching up with all of the posts.... DUH!!!
How in the heck did I miss Alette's good news!!!!

Hey, Alette! You give us older gals soooooo much hope! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For not giving up and for being successful! Of course I'm happy for all the girls who get a +ve, but I can't help but be particularly excited about YOURS! :)

Please take care of yourself and keep us up on everything!

Thanks to everyone for the encouraging words about my bumped IVF date.

Best wishes to you, Joy! 4 transfers is so exciting!!!! :D

Hi girlz,

I should not be here, should I?

Whenever somebody has a positive test... I used to think: get away from here... go go with your positive test...

anyway, I am scared to death, a real pain in the ass for everyone, specially my husband who seems to think only of sex (and I do not) and yet he is very sweet too. It is my state of mind, I think this time.. being pregnant but only so short and fragile, is more nervwrecking then anything else...
sorry.
I know you would love to be in my position.

Debra, how are you? you have always been such a pma-person, but lately with the move and Ikea and DYOshops... things are okay now??

Randa, eggs in the freezer do not dry up!! silly!

Joy, 4 embies!! great result! I was wondering, how about a visa for Kiev, is it easy to obtain?? I think the prize is really reasonable!!

Julie from Germany, how about your not smoking/drinking program?
I think giving up smoking is the best you could do!
My husband wants to stop, I do not care, I am not the person to forbid him to smoke. Now he is going outside for a smoke..
I smoked too and I know how difficult it can be to stop.

If you girls want me to move, let me know!

love
Alette

Hi Ladies
sorry for the radio silence, had mum here for the week and was busy doing the "tourist" bit with her. She's a real whizz at 66 - me married to a German and my sis to a Lithuanian - real cosmopolitan lot we are - especially as we'll have a spanish tapas baby......God willing...

So Alette!!! It's so wonderful for you, I agree also that it's especially nice when one of us "mature types" has a pos, gives us all hope, thank you...and good luck for your scan..personally I am happy if you stay here..it's nice to hear about +ve things and life after the scientific bit is done..especially as you have been to hell and back to get your +ve so you know how we feel..........

Hi Randar, shame about your IVF delay but you do already have some eggs in the bank don't you??? I know how you feel, sometimes like when I had my back operation 2001 which delayed our IUI for over a year, then after that my depression delayed us another 1.5 years..but I knew even in 2001 that we had <5% chance with my eggs. You'll be fine, it doesn't happen suddenly and each cycle gives another chance, and another egg pyramid to stimulate....you'll be fine ++++HUG++++

Joy - sending +ve vibes to your wise womb (I decided we are the wise womb women....) 4 embies..party!!! Thanks for the info on Kiev, I now have a guilt complex as IM Barcelona is about twice as expensive (maybe even more..Jude???). Still we are booked now and due there for 1st appt 14th April so we'll stick with that. In Spain they can only put in 2 embies (as far as I know) but still a 25% chance of twins... Certainly the success of IM Barcelona is why we chose them and they have also a very young and "proven" donor pool.

Hey Jude, nice to see you and wise womb are back on the case, lets hope the easter bunny conjours up a nice yummy endometrium for you..good luck with the scan (mine was 7mm on day 14 with cycloprogenova last month apparently OK as a test run??). We'll be in Barcelona 13th-15th, as the cheap flights worked out like that..looking forward to a sneaky short holiday with dh. Looks like we'll miss each other then? How many frosties will they thaw do you think??? Will face Barcelona and pray for them for you...I don't know who our appointment is with, I suppose I should check? Bit dappy of me not to ask. Am taking cash for the first bit (first appt and 10% deposit- when do you have to cough up the cash for the rest??). As I am on HRT I guess they'll transfer me to something else..hoping to cycle in April/May.

Hi D - the move sounds like a nightmare. We are trying to sell our house in the UK and the tenants have paid no rent since Xmas so I am having to get an eviction order - appartently they have destryoed the place inside, doors are missing - like I would be happy to have afew loose door handles!!!, garden a dump - makes me furious as we put a lot of effort into making it homely before renting it out. Moral of the tale..Don't trust letting agencies when they report that property is in good condition!!!

Anyway, love to you all and happy Easter... and by the way I am 42 on Saturday

Hello All,
I've not had the chance to look at the board this week as I've been really busy with returning to work after a month off!
I haven't got much time now as I'm supposed to be packing for a trip to Dartmoor for a few days. I must say I'm really looking forward to it after having such a stressful few weeks (even if we haven't got anything to celebrate).
Glad to see everyone is keeping cheerful.
Alette - congratulations - keep us up to date with your progress - as someone said, it's nice to hear positive results, it gives me hope.

Have fun all and enjoy easter.

I must confess, I've been on a "little" tww myself. Here's the deal. Since my dh and I never really established whether or not we could conceive before we jumped into IVF, we have been secretly hoping we might get pregnant in between the IVF cycles.

Anyway, it's a long shot, so I've kept it to myself until now.
My next af should have started yesterday, but it hasn't showed up yet. Still, I don't feel ANYTHING. I mean, not even like af is coming, much less like I'm pregnant. ????

All kinds of crazy thoughts keep running through my mind like: what if the tmt has pushed me into menopause and I won't have this next af? what if the tmt just screwed with my cycle and I'm going to be a little off? what if I am pregnant!?

Nutty, I know. I'm supposed to go back on the bc pills on the third day of this period to start the next cycle. So, I'm just waiting. :?

Alette, of course you should stay until you feel more comfortable and secure. Re. DH, I've always gone off it during tmt and 2ww. Would he be happy with other intimate time? massage, shared showers, other types of sex?

BigJ...good luck with the eviction. Sounds like a drag and a major pain in the arse. Our sellers will sort themselves out sooner or later but they're dim as biscuits with no common sense so everytime they come over they forget something and so we have to begin all over. They were 3hrs late last time so we'd gone out, they took 1 of the 3 huge things they were supposed to take..... just a personal opinion, why BigJ? I'm WAY oversensitive about size etc so would hate to refer to it in my title. Why not Taylor? no chance of getting muddled up with anyone else then? Enjoy your birthday tomorrow.

Randa The Dark Horse...well only time will tell re. delayed AF or otherwise...wouldn't that be amazing! When can you test?

Debbie...Dartmoor will be wonderful I'm sure. I lived in Plymouth as a kid for a few years and hated being dragged up the tors but now.....I'd love to walk there again.

All fine here, Puregon Day 4 today. I'm keeping my phials as there's another 225IU in each and I know I'll need more after the scan as I've only be prescribed upto then. One of the phials has considerably less in so either it was faulty (which I severly doubt) or I over-dialled which worries me slightly. I'd guess an extra 75-100IU which is really quite a lot. The clinic is closed until Tuesday so I'll just have to wait until the scan on Friday to see. At 122 pounds/228 US a phial/day, rather pricey really. What are other people paying for Puregon?

Joy....not sure you're reading during your 2ww but I hope it's going well and those 4 little embies are embedding well.

Hugs to us all,
Debra.

Hi all
dh is playing Diablo with his son online (computer game killing monsters), nice to see him relax a bit. He has been so worried about me...

D - I don't mind the bigJ as I am tall big not wide big (nearly 6ft) and actually the smallest in our family - the only one who can buy their shoes in a normal shoe shop!!! (dh is very tall too, step kids absolute giants - son 6ft 6" and parents and sis also 6ft+++) so you see the bigJ they called me at school makes me smile cos actually my family call me little J
Randar - don't blame you for "trying" between cycles - the nice thing is that it will also keep you and dh close to eachother whatever the result is xxx
Joy - thinking of the embies and the womb fairy...

Love bigJ
