HI ALL PHEONIXES...It's FRIDAY :D :D

kate
good to hear you are surviving school okay, and you have a busy busy weekend. Are you going to have a drink???? As for hols in scotland the West coast has the best Scenery I think Isle of arran, isle of Skye or mainland Crinnan, and around Fort William are good for outdoor persuits. Aviemore is my fav place but its 4 hrs from edinburough or glasgow so quite a way up. If your willing to drive it has loads of big mountains, climbing, skiing, mountain biking and a loch for canoeing. there are many places that do canoeing and water rafting ( we got lots of the torrent white stuff raging up here.) so you will find loads of places ...Lisa where do you think????? you like????
It's good that you have started spottinghun, and you may be able to grieve and move on. much love to you and DH. hope you have a fun weekend kate x x ps. have answered your meds question later down in my personal....much love x x x

Lisa- good to hear you are still "waddling" around as you put it  lol What colours and types of furniture have you put in the nursery???
It helped me to know that Katie is only just going in to her own room now. at 5 months old. As goodness knows if  sorry when i do get a BFP we will need to have another major clear out in the spare room...Adam is such a hoarder   It sounds so lovely your house, you are defo nesting . has the new suite arrived yet??? make sure you have some restime in all that busyness...have a good weekend hun x x much love x x x ps. the meds questions you asked in in my perrsonal x x

Nicki- have a good weekend hun x x x thinking of you x x hugs x x

Judy let me know how the book you get goes...i love a laugh x x good to hear you aer taking things in your stride. When is your follow up appontment so we can add it to the UPdate list??? love to you x x
ps i will answer med question in my personal x x

Julie- hope you are still on top of the world x x
Lucy- love to ya

gail hugs to you and beauty katie x x x

As for my meds i am awaiting instructions from clinic (IM) to stop BC pills ( they work like a down reg) then AF will come...
when she arrives i start 200mg of E2 ( eostrogen) Patches wear over 3 days that will help increase the womb lining...
go for a 7 day scan...( that one i am still trying to sort out with Gp and local hospital still awaitning news after Gp said it was ok but hsp said NO so up in air withthat one)
Then await news from IM for flight over and ET...
start progesterone pessaries 200mg every 8 hrs day before ET...
i still have a lot of Faith in the process 60% odds in my favour...but it's all the inner wobbles that are setting me off...how will i be as a mum? differant from myn but what will change? Howwould i cope in the role change? All the sesrious stuff of beig amum really. Things i have never really thot about until now...strange how the brain throws these thing sup at you...Antyway enough of my seeruiousness...i do feel a tad better today as i took mega meds last night and slept like the dead. Headache and swollen brain still there but muffled. Have a 4.30 appointment with cranial lady to sort my head out   ha ha !!!! and then w are off at 7pm tonight to head to the wolrd Downhill Mountain biking championshiips at Fort William...taking my book and a box of choc as i won't be cycling this will be a me weekend :D pity i can't fit 2 tubs of hagan daz in the freezer of the motohome :D

anyway
all enjoy your weekend
i will be back on boards on monday
much love

Morning Phoenixes! I am as usual, still in PJ central this morning :D !!

Jen - sorry to hear head is still muffled but hope your wonder lady can sort it out this afternoon  I think its great you are thinking all of these thoughts about being a mummy as it means your body and soul is so ready for that BFP and your PMA is soring. Yepee!! At last I understand your cycle (I think  !) So its E2 all the way to ET ha ha!! About being a mummy, I am seriously going thro those Q's at mo - mainly, how will I be with feeding baby and will I be successful. And I hope I learn quickly! Its natural to have these questions and all good xx Your Q' re baby's position & furniture - I have answered below. Enjoy your "me" weekend. Love to you xxxxxx PS I hope you can find a shop that does Haagen Daaz

Nicki - honey don't feel bad about not feeling yourself. We all understand. You are bound to feel like this. As Jen said, take comfort in knowing that, if and when you are ready for tmt again, they will have learnt from OHSS cycle and will be able to plan much better for you. I think at the mo, all you can do is accept these feelings as being part of the grieving process and don't feel bad for feeling them. They will lessen in time xx Love to you and do something nice this weekend xxxx

Kate - I think Jen answered your Q'a with lots of great places to go. Jen - would Loch Lomond have good facilities for canoeing etc? Just thinking as its so close to Glasgow, you could fly there and only have a short drive. xxx

A big HI to everyone else. Sorry for no more personals but I want to be out of PJ central and off to baby furniture shop by 12 15pm LOL!

I went to midwife the other day. Baby is head down but not engaged. And I think she is in the anterior position - bum towards my stomach as I often feel movement under my right rib and right in middle of tummy - a really hard but smooth feeling which I'm sure is the bum! If baby had back to my spine labour can be difficult so hopefully she'll stay the way she is!

Jen - we have bought a cotbed and chest of drawers with built in baby changing unit on top from Kidsmill. I think they're a Dutch company if i remember. Have gone for cream with beech. Have accesorised walls with pinks and minimal touches of soft green/blue (pictures, border, light). Walls are cream, curtains cream with pink flower tie backs and beige/cream blind and have laminate flooring in there. Dh says he will assemble it tonight. :) We have moses basket for our room - have kept that plus the bedding in natural colours.

Right I'm off now - will be proud of myslef if I get in shower before midday!

Love to all xxx

Hi All

gosh this is a busy site at the moment - can't keep up!!!

Firstly

Judy - I am sorry to have read your news and hope you are coping ok. What is your next step? Hope you are managing to stay positive. xx My due date is 10 January.

Nikki - Hows you? Been thinking about you loads - and yes your feelings are natural and dont ever feel guilty for them. I am not sure what else to say but am keping the faith for you honey and really hope you feel much more positive soon. As for you and Mark the experiences you are facing will make you stronger in time and things will seem easier. Sending you loads of love and hugs xx

Jen - Hope you feel better after your appointment today and you enjoy your weekend. As Lis said it is natural to doubt how we will be as mums as the change will be emmense but you will do it!!!! Much love. As for me all ok thanks - have picked "Meadow" from Mamas and Papas and am very anal in the fact everything should match etc so have plain walls (cream/beige/lemon) with the medow theme which is lemon beige etc with bits of colour with matching moses basket. Got pine changing unit and white cot with pine activity balls in it and lwmon curtains. Wont be starting yet tho. Walls are stripped waiting.

Lis - Your nursery sounds delightful! Cant wait to see pics. I have gone on stop actually re buying stuff and need to do a list and get some more bits really as time going so fast! You sound sooo busy at home, all coming together tho ready for your princesses' appearance! take it easy while you still can x

Kate - Glad you sound more positive. Crossing everything that AF arrives x School sounds a nightmare to me and not sure how you do it!! Hope you manage to book Dubai. Enjoy your weekend. Sounds busy and fun - have a great time.

As for me I am at my big sisters house party tomorrow night. Should be fun not drinking - see how long I last.

Enjoy yours whatever you are doing xxxx

Jen - glad there's a fridge and freezer. Hope you're stocking up on huge tubs of the stuff plus loads of books. Is Adam taking part in the championships?? Or just spectating? Hope your weather is as good as it is here - I've been sitting out in the garden but its too hot 8)

Julie - enjoy the party. You can laugh at everyone getting drunk and have the good excuse of tiredness if you want to leave early. :D I am so like you about everything matching - we have mamas and papas border and matching bedding set. And all other accessories have to have the same theme - flowers and hearts thro' them!! Your colours sound lovely - if we hadn't found out sex we would have gone for lemon too.

Nicki - how are you doing honey? Feeling any better? Enjoy your weekend and have a pint or vino on me! Big hugs xxxx PS just saw your thread Jen started - so sorry i didn't see it. Have posted msg xxx

Kate - hope school is settling down. Have you decided anything yet about Scotland?

Lucy, Judy, Gail & Katie - hope you guys check in soon so we know how you're doing xxx

Nursery chest is assembled and looks great. Cotbed being done tonight. I'm not up to much today, just a bit of housework then meeting my friend for coffee this afternoon. Housework is becoming increasingly difficult and takes me ages as I get sooo tired. I've had really bad sciatica since Tuesday so any bending is almost a no no. Also got the dreaded swelling in hands and feet now - wedding & engagement rings no longer fit and my feet look like pork sausages! But dh has been working a lot and is still doing lots round house like finishing hall, assembling furniture, etc so feel bad that I can't do more. Worried he's going to burn himself out before the princess even arrives! I have told him to take it easy but he always replies with "once I have finished everything - so much to do" :? He is such a perfectionist it kills me!!

My mum is coming thro tomorrow til Tuesday so won't be logging on til after she's gone. Hope everyone has a reat weeken.

Love to all xxxx

:) HELLO PEEPS!!!

It's sunday a.m i wanted a lay in, and im up!!!! Cant sleep, the thing is when i wake i jut think about all this ttc stuff, and then it starts me crying, i dont know what i want..... one minute, i think one thing the next another..... I so wanna be a mummy, and that fact doesnt ever change, but i am not wasting another £700 on iui an get BFN....... at the moment i am thinking of IVF and egg share...... but im so scared after the OHSS, i jut dont feel strong enough to try, but at the same time i a worried about the biological clock, thats ticking.........
I know i am only 31, and still hae lots of fertile years left, but equally i still feel old, i guess thats coz every one i know now, is with children
I think, what i need is a girl friend i can sit down with and who totally understands, none of my friends do, and why would they?

I think deep down, i will do IVF again, but when i dont know, the money is huge, and that worries me.....

I think also this time of year, im sensitive anyway, my dad died in sept, and its coming up for his 3rd anniv. I miss my dad so much, and sometimes i think, if it wasnt for hi inhertitance i wouldn of done any of these iui's at all...... so i feel guilty as hell that i feel like im watsing his money...... my mum said he would of wanted me to spend it that way, and thats all that matter, not like im been gambiling i away at casino's, but i feel tht way, i feel like this whole fertility tmt stuff is a huge gamble.....

Anyway, dh went out last night with boys, bless him he needed it, ater all this shit too, wish i was male, if id of gone out, i'd of poured my heart out and spoke aout this shit, instead i said to him so waht did u chat about..... you know cars, football, sport, work..........Arghhhh!!!! did u say anything about iui, ttc etc..... NO!!!!!!

Anyway, i was in with dh's mates g/friend, who does my head in, she was ok, we had a chat, but she's so selfish and spok all night aout her kids, she did ask about ivf etc..... and i told her everything etc..... she was ok, but then said stuff like oh you never know it could still happen naturally.....Arhhhhhhh!!!!! did she not listen?? never will it happen natural, how can it with no sperm!!!!! Some people!!!!!

So we are at home today, nothng much going on....want to get out and cut lawn laters, hope it doesnt rain later, other wise general stuff abou the house.....

Right, now how are you guys???

Kate, i do admire you, all the shit you're going thro and you seem so strong, good on ya! Whats ur secret?? How do u keep strong?
Scotalnd, wow, its the in place right now.....We are off to aberdeenshire, quaint cottage on the sea, looks lovely!!! I'll email u the pages ok xx
We went also to Inverness and highlands, went to john o'groats, and loch ness, scenery up there is nice, we stayed at small coastal village called portmahamock......
I'll let u know about aberdeenshire......we are staying near banff, do you know it lisa and jen???
Hope u had lovely time thi w/e at partys..Enjoy!!! xxx

Lisa, OMG!!! bet you're b glad to give birth now? Cant believe u cant get ings on, never knew wate retention affected you that bad in pregnancy.please get dh to txt me as soon as she arrives xxx

JEn, honey, how r u??? heard from IM yet as to when u can top BC's?? should be soon though???Are u still expecting ET for mid Oct???

Judy,
how are you??? are you feeling able to move on after BFN??
Hugs to you xxx

Julie, bless ya little heart for thinking about me, its these little things that make our group so great.....How are you getting along??
Did u have a good time at your sisters party???

Love and hugs to every1 else xxxx

HI nicki!

I would really suggest giving IVF another go, they will be more careful next time and monitor you more closely, after the OHSS.

The IUi does seem a waste of money as the odds are not so good, let the experts do it for you.

I know its a gamble again but it does work,I never win anything and bingo first time.

Just speak to the docs and tell them your concerns, see what they say....

My twins are 1 tomorrow,its been quite a journey.But a happy one.

Good luck Hun

hi all

just a me post and i will catch up with presonals later...

Well we set off in Moto at 7.30pm friday night stopped for something to eat..and went down the Loch ness road..which is quite twisty and bendy so only doin 40-50 miles an hour. At 9.30pm We turned a (blind)corner to see some nutter driving fast on the wrong side of the road...thought he was over taking but apparently he was racing his mate and driving side by side with him..ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!!!!

So ....we slammed on our brakes...the nutter slammed on his brakes but so did his mate on the inside so all 3 of us had a smash... WE were all so so lucky no one had any injuries... as we were high up in the moto and only had whiplash...so so lucky...Moto has quite a bit of damage but the guy has acknowledged liabilty..so am busy doing all the major phone calls today to try and sort out how to get Moto from here down to Newark for re-coachbuilding...It is drivable but not really road worthy...x x Anyway we didn't get to Fort william  just satyed close to the crash in a lovely forest place..took the dog pleanty of long walks Saturday, read books wathced X factor and ate Hagan daz :D :D and drove back Sunday...cleaned out the moto to get it ready for taking down to England...Dh and i are knackered today tho both have headaches back and neck pain...(BY the way the cranial work helped but after the accident it has been just as bad...) anyway it could have been a lot worse..we were really lucky x x

Nicki- would love to see you and mark...Banff is about 1hr away from here. will email later with stuff and suggestions to meet up etc x x x Do you have a hire car??? x x

Kate - just remembered i did white water rafting ( scary white water stuff) along the river at Aberfeldy. The company was called Splash and they did cnaoeing as well. This is in the middle of the garmoians at Pitlochry...Lisa Loch lomand is good for some water sports ( jet ski'setc) but not really canoeing... There may be some rivers near by that can do it tho at Callander...you are right tho Loch Lomond is very near the airport and has lovely scenery so a fabplace to go too. x x

Catch everyone later as m phoneing and trying to sort out coach builders ect for moto x x x

OMG Jen - What a polava!! Some people shouldn't be allowed on the road. You were so lucky considering what could have happened, god forbid. Sorry you didn't get to where you were going but glad you managed to salvage the weekend and enjoy yourself all the same. Get your necks looked at and put in a claim!! Hope feel better today..not one thing its another.

Nikki - How are you hun? You sound so down  And yes, it is understandable. You have to give yourself time to grieve and get over the disappointment before you will be able to think about the next steps you want to take. The holiday will do you a world of good xx

Lis - You are sooo lucky you have a perfectionist!!! Mine is referred to as "half a job Jus" as he sways from one to another and things don't tend to get finished when they should!! However, he is very keen on getting the nursery started and think it will prbobably be the first job ever where he hasn't needed a prod with a big stick to get moving!! Enjoy your time with your mum

Hope everyone else is ok xx

As for me the baby is more and more active now, still only light tho. Went to Sis house party and it was quite good. We were the quieter kitchen lot (best parties are in the kitchen i find!) so I manage to stay until 1am. Was very tired yesterday tho!!!

Hi girls,

Here's my update: we went to the doctor's, and decided to take one cycle break, then a couple of IUIs. He thinks in our case, IVF may not have a huge advantage over IUI, in turms of odds of getting pregant v.s. the cost. We really were hoping to do PGD, where they could select the embryos with 'good number' of chromosome. Unfortunately that was abandoned due to too few embryos on day 2.

Our plan is after the couple IUIs, we'll go straight to egg donor. The miscarriages I had apparently all had to do my egg. Nothing like the fertility treatment make you feel really really ancient! :) According our doctor though, the egg donor would work great for us. Being as conservative as he is, he even said it's rare to have egg donor IVF not work after intial then following FET cycles. I felt much better now that we have a plan.

Nicki, hope you are feeling a little better. Going through the treatment does feel like gambling at times. We'll just hang in there and wait for our winning moment. You are still sooo young!

Jen, are u excited about your coming treatment? keep us posted. I haven't had a chance to get that book yet, but i'll let you know.

Julie, enjoy your pregnancy! Do you know it's a boy or girl yet?

Hope everyone else is doing well. Have a great week. It's nice to read about the different things happening in our lives. We are hoping it'll get a little cooler here, still almost 110 today!

Hello Phoenixes

Jen - OMG you were soo lucky. You must have been really shaken up. It makes you so angry when these idiots put other peoples lives at risk. Did you phone the police? They really should be charged with wreckless driving. And they admitted they were racing each other? Unbelievable .... Like Julie said, you need to get a claim for whiplash in - especially as its undone all the good work of your wonderful healing lady. I hope you and Adam feel better soon hun xxxx

Nicki - my heart goes out to you right now. Wish i was closer and if I wasn't preg we could sit down witha few bottles of wine and have a good old chat xx I remember feeling just like your saying - thinking of the biological clock (altho we are still young) and thinking about carrying on with tmt, etc but then trying to weigh that up with being strong enough to carry on. In the end dh and I had decided we would continue doing back to back iui until no sperm left then go on to IVF after a month or so break. It was thought that my life was on hold that made us come up with that plan. We were willing to forego holidays this year to fund ivf and we thought we would try it 2-3 times (as it stands we haven't gone on any hols as we've had to save for mat pay, doing house up etc.) We kept coming round to the same thoughts about life being essentially on hold but everyone is different and you must do what is right for you and weigh it all up. Much love xxx

Judy - sounds like you and Jen could have a lot to talk about with egg donor. You could be egg buddies  Its great you've got your tmt plan and that Dr is so positive. When do you start IUI?? Will that be with meds?

Julie - well done you on lasting til 1 am. Through my 2nd tri I had loads of energy on the whole, and used to be able to stay up quite late but in last 2-3 weeks I am yawning at 10 pm and have lost power of speech by 11pm  I have some friends I would like to come over to the house. They would need to stay as they live too far a way for a day visit but I am at the stage that I am in 2 minds now - housework is back breaking and I can hardly stand for 5 mins without feeling breathless and dizzy (my blood pressure has been really quite low) so don't think I'd be great company or a very good host :? Glad lazy boy is making his presence known. The midwife always tells me to lie on lefy side with glass of cold iced water to get baby moving if I was ever worried. When do you feel lazy boy the most?? Glad dh will be getting his painting shoes on soon for the nursery xxx

Kate - look forward to hearing where you have decided upon in bonny Scotland. And yes as Nicki says, you sound really strong. Well done you xxx

Had a great time with my mum. She came Sunday about 5 pm. I cooked for the 3 of us (mum, dh and me) - chicken wrapped in pancetta with leeks and mash potato. Was yummy :) then we chilled out. Yesterday we dyed my dining room chair covers a chocolate brown so that they will match in with new cream sofas (that have beige and chocolate in the cushions) as we have an open plan style livingroom/dining room - you can close the french doors over in between or leave them open. Then we went out and picked up the pram and mum bought me a new iron as the old one was leaking. I also got treated to lunch and the princess got an outfit for leaving the hospital (in pink of course!) and a winnie the pooh collectable from the Royal Doulton Shop sale for her room. I also got my ironing done, floors cleaned and washing put out all by mum. Mum's are great are they not? :D She knows I am struggling with housework now as back is almost constantly sore so she wanted to help. She tells me she is on stand by now and that I am getting a daily phonecall  She could be doing that still for almost anothr 5 weeks!

Nicki - yes fluid retention can get really bad during pg in hand, feet and face. My feet are almost constanty swollen. Have gone up a shoe size as a result.

Well I'm off to make soup and waiting on man to come round and measure stairs for a new hall carpet. Hall is looking good with lots of canvasses and floating shelves up plus a shaggy chocolate rug as you come in thro door. :D

Hope everyonr has a good Tuesday.

Love to all xxx

Hey Girls,

Just a quickie as I have just finished netball practice with the girls and I am knackered - oh to be 11 again and have all that energy!!

Jen - can't believe how mad some people are!! Do they not have any consideration for others? You and DH were so lucky to get away with just whiplash, it could have been so much worse. I second what Lis said tho about going to the police, sometimes that is all people understand.

Nickie - am still thinking about you and DH. You will find the strength to carry on. I think you perhaps need to come up with a definte plan like Lis did and then there is always something to focus on if things don't work out. At the moment things are so up in the air for you so you don't know where to go or what to do next. Money is always an issue, we constantly worry about it and paying for the next tmt, but thats what credit cards are for!!! Its a small price to pay ultimately for what we so desperately want.

Lisa - your mum sounds like an angel - does she want to pop down and do my housework for me?!!! I can only imagine how tired you are, you must be kind of wishing that the last few weeks will fly by? As for Scotland we still haven't decided, we need to talk to friends who hopefully will come along as well - will let you know when its all sorted!

Julie - you party animal - staying up until 1am!! I went to a party at the weekend and I had to home by midnight as I was so tired....I haven't even got the excuse of being pregnant!!

Judy - hope you are all ok, sounds like your consultant talks a lot of sense!

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all ok?

As for me, AF still hasn't reared her ugly head! Thought she had last night but alas no. Still having a bit of spotting (really old dark blood and a quite big clot - sorry if tmi  ) but nothing else. I phoned my clinic this afternoon and asked them what they thought I should do and I was told to make an appointment to see my GP, which I have done. Although I can't see him until next Monday! So unless AF bucks up her ideas it looks like I may need to have the D & C after all!!!! This rollercoaster never ends does it? To be honest I just want to get it all sorted so that I can get on with things rather than worrying all the time. Oh well, not alot I can do about it at the mo is there?!!

Catch you later
