Is your house on the Market yet?

Best of luck with it all, you'll be fine!

Can stew get a transfer easy enough with his company? Who does he wrk for? would you need to work? could you be a full time mum?

what about the sperm you have in storage at Edinburgh? Would they transfer it to a closer clinic, or would you travel back to Edin if you decide to give Mia a brother or sister? wheres the nearest clinic to Ayr? Would it be Glasgow?

Hi Girls,

Happy new year to you all - hope you had good ones?

Julie - congratulations! What a wonderful xmas present, doesn't get much better than that does it? You sound like you are loving every minute of it.

Nickie - don't worry about the weight, you'll soon have it back off, especially being back at work!

Lisa - good to hear from you and that Mia is doing well. A move back towards your parents sounds like a good idea, especially with Mia being so young - lots of babysitters should you need any!! I don't envy you the thought of moving tho, so good luck with it all.

Souris - great news on the adoption, any further news?

Judy - how about you? How was the pilot cycle, or has that not happened yet?

Jen - good luck at IM, I'm sure it will all be fine and then that BFP will be just around the corner.

Hi to anyone I missed - sorry!

As for me, back to work today, which was a real shock to the system - especially the alarm at 6.30am!!! Not a nice noise! Xmas was quite quiet, just at my parents and New Year was ok. It was DH birthday new years eve however we found out that his 99yr old grandmother passed away that morning! She apparently got up at 4am, had a coffee, went back to bed and never woke up again. At least she didn't suffer and as my stepdaughter told me 'she had lived a long life' - you can't really argue about that!

We are still going to go to Trinidad in March (it was for her 100th birthday) and we can pay our respects then. We can't change our tickets or get the time off work so we will just have to wait.

Hopefully I will start tmt this month sometime, just depends on AF (doesn't it always?!!) and then away we go. To be honest I am not really looking forward to it but needs must and all that....

Anyway, hope everyone is all ok, catch you later

Hi all

Jen - great to hear from you. My you are busy! All your moto holidaying sounds great. All the best at IM - will be thinking of you and hoping there's no pain xx Yes would be lovely to meet up once we move back - currently looking at living in Ayr, Prestwick, Barassie, Troon, Alloway or Dundonald. Have fun in the moto and hope poor Adam can de stress :D xxx

Nicki - will answer your questions after personals. As Jen and Kate have said you will lose the 5 lbs no probs now that you are back in New Year mode and all festivities over! No probs about when you were in Edin. I knew it would be difficult with it being xmas and yopu only being up for a few days, I understand. Gald you really enjoyed it. Did you go to the German market? Their mulled wine is fab!

Kate - sorry to hear about dh's Gran. 99 - that's good going! and as you say you can pay your resepcts when you go over in ?is it March. Good luck with your up and coming cycle. I know you would probably rather not think about it - maybe that's best? Just try carry on as best poss til the time comes. Hugs xx

Julie - thanks for pm back. I will pm you again. Glad you are enjoying the b/feeding. Hope you are coping with the sleepness nites ok. Sounds like you are baring up well! Like your dh, mine was great when he was off when Mia was born. He would get up and change her nappy before all the feeds then bring her to me to be fed. He did all the baths and changes when I couldn't move much when my section was healing. Enjoy all these early moments as its true they grow up so fast.

Judy - a big hi. Hoping you had a fab New Year and are well.

Gail - looking forward to an update on Katie xxx

As far as our move is concerned, dh will look for another job preferably with another company but he's not too fussed to stay in retail. Problem is he's not too sure what he wants to do! I am going to start enquiring about jobs too. I'm hoping I won't have a problem as there's a recruitment prob in my profession anyway so they're usually crying out for people! All our family know now so we'll go down next month and probably start looking at areas we might want to stay in, in more detail. We need to get cv's updat tho first. I would rather make a clean break and not have to go back to my current job but may have to depending on time scales. Will have to pay back my mat leave if I don't go back to work for an nhs establishment! And yes Nicki I will work as can't afford not to! Would like 3 days ideally.

I am sitting here whilst Mia is in her vibrating bouncy chair playing away. She has started grabbing things now ands gets very excited when she plays! She's a tricky customer when it comes to sleeping during the day tho - will dall asleep on my shoulder but wake as soon as she's put down! As she sleeps well at night I can't complain to much.

Well Mia is now crying, concentration shot to pieces so better sign off here!

Love to all xxx

Hi guys, said i would post y'day, but got tied up and ran outta time, but you didnt miss me, so thats ok (no posts since my last one monday!)

JEN, Hope your OK, was thinking about you y'day.....Hope the op went ok xx I did tx, havent heard, hope youre OK huney xxxx

so what have we been up to....... This week end we went to the cinema to see ‘I am Legend’ It was good, had been looking forward to going to it, and think Will Smith is a fab actor, heard so many great reviews, I liked it, but it was different to what I expected. Kept you on your toes and I was so jumpy through out the whole film, even cried at one point, we stopped at a burger restaurant before going in, and had burger and chips, I still had popcorn in the theatre too!! Oh dear I am so naughty! But how can you go to the cinema with no popcorn! It’s the done thing!

Then Sunday we went out with Marks Uncle/Aunt for Dinner, it was really nice, had Tomato Pasta dish and salad, but spoilt it by having chocolate sundae! Whoops!!! But I have been so good, all week, and you have to have something good sometimes, otherwise it gets boring. I didn’t have breakfast or Supper so think that’s ok!!!
We then spent the afternoon with them at their house, chatting and just drinking…. Marks Uncle gave us a Telescope for viewing the stars with he’s into Astronomy in a big way and has a huge telescope, showed us Mars, we were lucky enough to be able to view it on Sunday evening. Oh it was amazing!!! You could actually see the orange colour of the planet and the bubbling gasses around!! You can actually see it with the naked eye, it’s the brightest star in the sky above Orions Belt, looking south wards in the evening, looks like I have a new hobby!!
Star Gazing!!

Work has been urgh!!!!!! Hate it!! Haven’t heard from the school yet about the job, but closing date isn’t til 14th so maybe I’ll hear next week. did i tell u about that??? Admin at a junior school!!!

Yesterday I was off and feeling good!! so I chill a bit, and wow I feel 100% great being away from that hell hole. Done a bit of washing, and ironing, listened to some music, watched some TV, researched more on business plans………… Getting more excited about it all and less scared. Also, went round the Local businesses asking for jobs, thought that would be better than just sending my CV out, and got a BIG FAT NO's everywhere I went….. Oh well, a least I tried, don’t get anywhere if you don’t try, do you?? We are planning a trip to Scotland, and will travel around, taking in the area we might like to settle, fly to Glasgow, then to Oban, Fort William, Isle of Skye, and basically, right round to Inverness and then on to Aberdeen, seen lots of B&B’s for sale in that area. Really think, it’ll be Scotland we settle on apposed to Northern England, but we’ll see.

I have this morning off which is nice, in after lunch......Hope you girls are ok....xxx

KATE, had AF arrived, good luck with down reg xxx
JUDY, hows your tmt going? Lets us know you r ok.....
JEN, Hope the Op was ok, spk to you soon xxx
LOVE and hugs to our mummy's LISA, JULIE, GAIL and MLG xxx

Hi girls!

Just logging on for a rant and a bit of advice please. Was planning on starting my IVF tmt this month, AF arrived today so it was all systems go...or so I thought!

I phoned the clinic this morning to get things going and was told that because they have moved they have had to be inspected by the HFEA (I assume) to make sure that everything is ok. They are waiting on the report and then will obviously have to act on anything that is not quite right. My problem is until they get the report and act on it they are not taking any patients!

This means I will have to wait until next cycle before starting, which in normally circumstances would be ok, but we are off on holiday at the end of March and I'm not sure whether we would still be going through tmt at that point? Its been nearly 18mths since I last did an IVF cycle and I can't remember how long it is roughly from down reg to ET. I know each cycle is different but can anyone give me a rough idea....is it about 6wks?

If it doesn't work out then we will have to wait until April/May time before starting :x and I really didn't want to wait that long! Why are these things so complicated, things are stressful enough without all this as well!!

Anyway enough of my ranting. I hope everyone is ok and enjoying the new year. I will post personals later in the week....I should be teaching now!!

Kate, hey huney!!!! Thats crap that your clinic have done this to you, will you register a formal complaint, I would!
So this clinic is the old one, but in new location...I knwo u were thinking of changing clinics, so you are in same clinic.... thats bad for private service huh??
I think I would defo change now.....
They cant screw your life up like that, did u say something to 'em when they told you..... Arghhhhh!!!I am so mad with you, It's crazy, have you spoken to other girls on here in the same clinic, what do they say??
I would recommend ISIS, of you do decide that!!! And of course its not far from you is it.....

As for time scales..... Last year when i was doing IVF my cycle was like this:

Feb 14..... AF
Mar 5...... Start sniffing
Apr 1.... Start injections
(Had OHSS not have happened, I would have had)
Apr 11.....Egg collection
April 13..... ET or April 16 Blastocyst.

So from AF til ET its 8wks with 2ww its 10wks......

So your next AF would be due about 6 feb, which is 8 days before my dates. which would roughly mean ET would be 5th April.....

Where are you going on holiday? Is it when you go to Trinidad?

I think, personally I would wait til after you return, I know u wanna get going, but surely if you want it to work the less stress suurounding it the better the chances!!

You know where i am if you wanna 'tx rant'
Hugs xxx

Hi all I am typing from the luxury of my dining room on my new laptop! I will now bw able to post more often as the internet will be at my finger tips. Woo hoo! The old pc was soo bad you've no idea. Dh was ready for chucking it out of the window  as it was so difficult to even log on but alas that is in the past :P I can post even if I have a spare ten mins. Befoe I had to have aspare couple of hours lol!

Kate - that really sucks about your clinic. Are you not considered an existing patient if you've had treatment there before? Would that make a difference? As Nicki said, as frustrating as it is, you would no doubt be best waiting til you came back from Trinidad and give yourself less stress. How's the job going by the way? xx

Julie - I know what you mean about being milking machine. I have often felt that way but it might help you if I told you that in the first 4 weeks I used to have to feed Mia about 11 times in a 24 hr period. This went down to 8 times after that and from 12 weeks I have been feeding her 4 times daily on average plus her bottle of formula a night so if you stick with it it will calm down I promise. Will pm you again. I know it sounds corny but do try sleep when William sleeps even if only for half hr or so as your body will use that time wisely and you will be amazed how much better you will feel. We had a few nights when Mia didn't settle til very late - we were never sure why. Could it be wind?? Have you tried anything for it? Hugs xxx

Nicki - well done on the weight loss front. I am now tryin to lose the baby weight so have been out power walking with Mia in the pram as much a poss and am trying to cut down on all the cakes that come with the coffee drinking that I have been doing too much of! Are you finding it easy or difficult? When are you planning your trip to Scotland to search out the b and b's? Still can't believe you are probably moving to cotland to staet a new life - what does your mum and brother think? Good luck with it all doll :D

Jen - thinking of you and hoping all went well at IM and hoping you, Adam and Broc will well and truly chill away in your moto. How is gorgeous Broc these days? big hugs xxx

Gail - hoping you and Katie and dh are well?? More pics and updates of Katie please soon! :)

Souris and Lucy and Judy - a big hi and hugs your way xx

Mia has started to wake again through the night after sleeping through mostly since 8 weeks. She has woke every night for over a week now and often takes a while to settle after a feed, sometimes wanting more. She is still such a hungry horace! Its def hunger that's waking her again. We tried a heavier formula for her last bottle but that didn't work so we started her on some baby rice tonight before her bottle. Think she liked it but wasn't getting it quick enough from the spoon so was crying! We tried some more after her first bottle (she needs two at night) but she was giving us the petted lip  so we have stopped for tonight and will try again tomorrow.

Am phoning a hospital tomorrow to enquire about jobs nearer home. Saw one in vacany section fro our society - the very job I am looking for when we move but unfortunately not ready for it yet but will phone and ask if smething else might come up in a few months.

Will keep ou posted.
