Waiting for my cycle

Postby djnjjnaj » Tue May 20, 2008 12:51 pm

Hi there..
I am a 30 year old female with tubal blockage currently waiting for my 1st (hopefully only) cycle of IVF. I am reading every book in sight. My cycle is not until August and I can not wait. I feel like I am going to go nuts between now and then. I wish I could just make the time go by faster. Anyway, good like and baby dust to all of you. I hope to hear from all of you and your babies to be!

July cycle

Postby Lula » Thu May 22, 2008 1:08 am

Hi...this is the first time I've posted a reply on any message board. I read your message and can say I totally know how you feel. I am starting my first cycle (and hopefully the only one I'll ever have to do) in July. I'm soooo nervous and just anxious to get it started. I have read every book I can get my hands on and then some, I htink that is how I've ended up on this message board. I must admit the reading part has been helping me out, a lot. I'm counting down the days and not too sure why......I think I just want the IVF part pf our lives to be over. My hubby keeps telling me to accept it as part of our life as it will always be an issue if we want more kids. I'm going to spend the time between now and July hopefully attending some support groups to find out more. Good luck with everything!

Ugh.. the waiting is the worst. I don't think I mind the IVF being part of my life if it is successful, I just want to get this show on the road. I have read a million books too. Just keep in mind that those books are so outdated, even if they are from as recent as 2004/5. They tell you positive outcomes are 50/50 at best and they are much higher today. My doc does not really want me reading any more of them, but that OF COARSE isn't stopping me. How many are you implanting? We are doing two. Are you the source of the initial problem? I am. Tubal blockage. Please feel free to ignore any questions you do not want to answer! I think the important thing to do to get you through is to visualize yourself with the baby this time next year. Until we got signed up for our cycle, I couldn't look at babies, movies about babies, or ANY thing that related. Now, I kind of feel the pressure relieved because it is only a matter of time, like it is with you now, that we too will join that elite club we so long for. It really does take that pure resentment and dials it back a notch for me. I just want the time to fly as you do.. hey I have to wait until August! But feel free to keep in touch with me, as I would LOVE to have someone to go on this journey with! Anyone else in our time frame of cycles please share too.

IVF is nothing but a huge waiting game! First, you are waiting to start AF, then you are waiting to start stimms, then you have the 2ww, THEN is you get a BFP you have to wait for the ultrasound! This process is a true test of patience. My advice is to pick up a hobby b/c you will need something to keep your mind off of things!!
Good Luck!

Hiya Darla

We are so not sure how many to implant. :? I am so terrified of going into albour way to early or being told to be bed ridden at 26 weeks. But...despite all the risks...I think we will go ahead and implant 2. Our specialist said that she doesn't think it will be necessary.....but we want to implant 2 in the hope that 1 will take...and if both takes...then we will not be disappointed. I have heard in the US they will implant more than 2 - I don't think they are allowed to do that here in Australia. My DH and I have only been married 6 months...we were trying on our honeymoon, so excited at the prospect of concieving in Paris, but a general GP health check up and innocence male infertility test ended up in us finding out DH has a very low count, so low they have given us a 1% chance of falling naturally. When we went for another visit to the specialist, it turns out his count is now even lower! We were and still are devastated, but feel ready to start IVF in the hope that it will give us a little baby. Why have you decided to wait until August? I have work committments in June and decided to wait until my schedule can be cleared in July. I've told work and they said I can have as much time off I need.

hello ladies. i am so excited that you are about to start your journey to becomming mommys!!! it is a hard and bumpy round to travel, but the final outcome is worth all of it. i am currently waiting to do a FET cycle. i just got my BFN for cycle#2. but luckily, we have 7 embies on ice, so we just need to save up the $$ to do the FET. good luck to all of you, and if you have any questions, i'd be happy to try and answer them.

The Waiting Game! UGH!

Postby Maryann » Sat Jul 05, 2008 1:04 am

Hi my name is Maryann and I am currently going through my first IVF cycle. My husband and I went through through 3 IUI's with clomid and no luck. This past May I had surgery and they found a cyst and fibroid in on ovary, stage 4 endo and one of my ovaries was attached to my uteris. I started taking the birth control pill in June and feel like I am going to crawl out of my skin! I hate it! I find I am getting very anxious waiting for the egg retrevial and transfer in August. I don't understand why I can't get it done sooner. I keep telling my hubby that I am going to ask the doctor to fit me in this month. LOL! Like that will happen. This is such a process. I haven't even started the injections. Believe it or not I can't wait to start them because then I feel like it is the beggining of the end. I am sure I am not alone! Anyone else feeling this way or that has felt this way? How do I make the time go faster?
