Newbie just about to begin IVF right after Christmas

Post by catzie5 »

Hi everyone

I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I am new to this site and the whole IVF thing!! I am 31 have totally abnormal cycles, just found out have poly-cystic ovaries & insulin resistance. Dr just put me on Glumetza for the IR - is anyone else on this? I am not exactly sure the role it is going to play in the whole IVF process!! Just had a scan done which showed my uterus looking like it will be a good little home

My huband is 45 and had his vascectomy reversed last year however no sperm count. Luckily we have 5 viable vials in storage. We are planning on starting our first IVF cycle right after Christmas and I just feel a little alone and scared in the whole process. My husband and I are travelling between now and the start of December and the lab closes over Christmas so we have to wait until after - which is kinda killing me a little!

We both know that we want to have a baby and share that blessing but I am feeling very anxious literally about everything. Is it the right thing to do, what if it won't work, what if I won't be a good mother etc.etc. Does anyone else suffer from feeling this way?

I was recommended to this site and it's nice to see so many ladies are going through this also.

Good luck & blessings to each & every one of you.

catzie5,

Welcome to the site. You will find alot of support here. Make sure to check out the IVF portion of the board, I am sure a thread will be starting for girls cycling after Christmas, if it has not already. Sending lots of sticky baby dust your way and good luck on your first cycle!

Hello,

I'm also new to the board but not IVF. I had a tubal ligation when I was 23 and have since had it reversed so I have been blessed with 2 beautiful children already but of course an unplanned divorce and a fiance who has no children of his own has lead me to the reversal and IVF. I had a fresh cycle back in 2007 and an FET. Both cycles had great embies and doctor still says I should have been pregnant and that I was just unlucky. I've had 2 pregnancies since then but both ended in early miscarriages (chemicals). We just tried another cycle last month but unfortunely I didn't respond well to meds and only got one good embie and they put it in on day 2 and of course it failed. During this last cycle one of the ultrasound techs kept seeing a possible polyp so last week had further testing and low and behold I have a pretty big polyp and having surgery to remove it next week and hopefully if all goes well will cycle right after x-mas.

I wish everyone success and really hope all of us get our babies and hope that 2011 is our year.
