are my feelings normal

Postby me » Tue Apr 12, 2005 10:07 pm

hello, I am currently in the 2 week waiting period and it is very emotional I am questioning every ache pain twinge etc. I had egg collection last week Thursday 7th of April and had 2 eggs put back on Sat9th, we have had icsi although the operation etc was ok I found the drugs hard on occasions. We have delt with everything so well and supported each other through the bad bits my family have been wonderful, but i am really struggling at the moment. We have got to do the test on the 22nd and today I have convinced myself that they have gone, it hasnt worked, this is only our first time at icsi and i although I am sure this is normal it would be nice to here from someone else who is going through the same emotional rollercoaster.
I know there is nothing more we can do at the moment except wait but it is hard, I have taken the 2weeks sick leave that was offered and am trying to take things easy but it is all these things swirling around in my head. Hope to hear from someone soon.

Welcome me,

Sorry to hear you are struggling at the moment but congratulations on doing so well this far :) .

I have not yet reached the 2WW stage but I do know that you have found this site in the nick of time. From what I have read from other people the 2WW is a really difficult time and if you look on the general forum there is a thread for all those girls currently on their 2WW and I know of a few who are at exactly your stage. Post on there and you'll be made to feel very welcome.

These threads are great for receiving and giving support and feeling reassured by other peoples experiences.

I hope your dark clouds clear soon and allow you to focus on those precious wee embies nestling down for a 9 month lodging. Take care of yourself and bucket loads of baby dust to you.......

Bye for now,

Maci x

Hi me,
I have my fingers, toes and everything else crossed that you will have your positive result on the 22nd. I have noticed that there is a current 2ww thread going on at the moment on the General Forum and it will be worth joining that.
I think every girl going through this thinks that it hasn't worked and we feel we have to start preparing ourselves for it. Being positive is one of the hardest things to do, but do try. Zita Wests book talks about visualising the embies embedding in the womb. If you had et on Sat 9th the embies will be embedding today or yesterday. So get lying on the couch, put your hands on your tummy and talk to those embies as they are snuggling down :) .
You will most probably still feel sore and achey from the egg collection, and your ovaries will still be enlarged. I found that it took me at least a week before I could walk properly and go to the toilet without it hurting.
You will also notice from this site that everyone's symptoms are different, so don't get too paranoid if you have no symptoms, or if you have loads of pain as I don't think there is any correlation.
Just rest loads and drink lots of water.
Good Luck

Me

Welcome to this site and as Maci said it is a really good time to join us - the 2ww is a hard time, but we are all here to help you through it.

There is no defined list of things you will experience during the 2ww so anything that occurs just hold on to it and stay positive.

I have asked Debra to add you to the 2ww list - so when you feel ready hope over to the General Forum and join in :D

Look after yourself, get plenty of R&R and we're here for you when you need to talk.

Hi Me (why didn't I think of that great name?)

There are lots of us on the 2ww right now. Come and join us on the April 2ww thread over in the General Forum. Share the ups and downs, and there are many!

The pps have said it all really. The meds DO affect how we feel making each twinge impossible to analyse. The days seem to pass very slowly and we feel powerless. The Zita advice is partly designed to help us feel we can do something to aid the process. But it's a question of waiting really....

Come and join us on the other side and I'll add your test date when you feel ready. We're really quite nice!

Debra.

Hi Me ... Welcome and well done for getting so far without the sanity (? ha ha) of this site !!

It's perfectly normal to swing from being quietly confident, to being certain it hasn't worked .... Alas, only time will tell.

Just make sure you use your time wisely .... get plenty of rest, eat as healthily as poss, and be pampered lotssss !

Hi Me,

Welcome! I'm sure this is a difficult time for you...couldn't imagine how I would be once I reach your stage. I'm sure some of the ladies here can give you some good advise. Anyways, wishing everything goes well for you. Take it easy!
