New to IVF

Postby Stacey » Tue Jun 27, 2006 7:46 pm

Hi

I am new to IVF.

My husband and i have been trying to concieve since we were married in Oct 2002.

Ours is unexplained Infertility.

We have just been told that our best chance of conceiving is to have IVF.

We have been told that we are suitable for funding in our area but we will be dealt with in line with the capacity of local IVF clinics.

We are hoping to use Peterboroughs 'Fitzwilliam Hospital' with Nottingham 'CARE in the park Hospital'.

Does anyone know the length of the waiting lists for these hospitals?

I would be grateful to know what happens next as we have not really been told!!!

Hi Stacey, welcome to the board. You will find a lot of great information and support here, once you get the hang of where to look. I've been online since March and still learning.

I've learned that ART in USA can be different than other areas - maybe I'm naive but I've never heard of a waiting list here. They are more than happy to take your money and get you started :) Perhaps I'm just lucky because I live in a big city with good university hospital.

The whole IVF cycle can be overwhelming, new terms, timing, shots (some that you have to mix yourself) etc ... so feel free to ask any questions and the ladies here will be right there to help you out.

Best of luck!
