Hi, this is my first post on any sort of blog. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 6 months by actively charting my ovulation and peak fertile times. I went for my blood work in December and had an FSH level of 8. I then went for the the HSG exam (blowing of the tubes) and learned my left tube is blocked and went right to a fertility dr. Luckily my right tube is wide open and we can conceive naturally out of the right side (however, chances will decrease by 50% because you ovulate out of every other side each month). The
RE wanted to retest my hormone level and I did the 3 day FSH testing which gave me an FSH level of 28.5! For the life of me I cant understand how my FSH level went up so drastically in 5 months?? The
RE is retaking my levels next cycle...but said that if I am at 28.5 there is no way we can go through ivf and our only option to become parents is through donor egg. This was devasting news to me and I am looking for some advice of people who have conceived (thru IVF or natrually) with high fsh levels. I am only 35 and have regular period and ovulate according to the monthly kits?! My dr also told me that I had a healthy amount of follices and my estrogen and progestrine levels are normal. Could this last FSH test be wrong? I am going to another
RE for a second opinion tomorrow. I dont understand why ivf isnt an option with high fsh...anyone have any thoughts?
