Hi Girls!

Thanks for all of your sweet thoughts!! It means a lot!

I had Dr. Wing today for ER and we got 7 eggs.
I knew we only had 6-8 mature follicles, but I guess I was hoping for some extra suprises. I am a little disappointed b/c we had 14 last time...I just don't know how each cycle can be so different with the same protocol!?! Oh well.

The big question is how many will fertilize..the rate is typically 50% - I hope we are better than average on at least that part. I am praying hard that we don't have a repeat of the first time with NO fertilization ~ not sure I could handle. I find out in the a.m. (some time before lunch). I will definitely be taking more vicodin in the morning - even if I don't really need it for the 'pain!'

By the way - I am in MUCH more pain this time. I can't believe it. By this time last time, I was feeling pretty good. I can barely get off the couch and any sudden moves hurt just laying here!!! :? Hope that means I had really big fat mature eggs removed!

Courtney
~ good luck tomorrow. I am excited for you and feel like it is my sister going in!! I just know you will have a good retrieval. You are in my prayers and I will be waiting to hear how it goes.

CKL
- don't let the side affects from the Progesterone mess with your head! I haven't been preg before, but all of your symptoms are common with these shots...keep you PMA!!!!

Hope the rest of you are doing well....I will update tomorrow!

Dr. Whelan is a cutie.

Ashley 7 is still a great number! When I had my retrevial all of the fertilized so stay positive!!! 50% is not a hard fast rule!!!

Oh great so I go into Reach this morning and guess who the Dr is?? Yes you got it! Dr Whelan! I had a hard time keeping a straight face! Thanks you all! I just had to be the one with my feet up in the stirups first after that conversation!

Court: Good luck today! I told Dr Whelan that he was doing an egg retrevial for a friend of mine this morning and told him he just had to get them all! He smiled and said he would get every one that was there!

As for me.. I still have 12-13 follies all of them are between 10-13mm. So I was excited about that!

XOXO

Ashley that is totally a good number...and I completely agree that the 50% rule is just an estimate - i know that from experience! Have you heard from them yet? how are you feeling?

Sonya...way too funny about Dr.Whelan....hehehe...well hey, if it is something to giggle at while you are going through all this, then that is great. 12-13 is great....when is you estimated E/T?

Well i bet that Courtney is getting ready to head down there and get the lovely IV Cocktail....i am looking forward to hearing some updates so I can stop thinking about myself!

Talked to my nurse yesterday about the cramping and back ache...she said that was perfectly normal and that my ovaries are still trying to get back down to normal size so it will be a bit painful. i fell fine today so who knows.

talk to you soon

Hi girls...Wow....I had no idea that I would be this sore. I consider myself to have a fairly high tolerance for pain ....but Gee Wiz!! The pressure is almost unbearable and I am scared to death of OHSS.
The lovely Dr. Whelen got 16 eggs this morning. I am "cautiously" happy about this. I just have a very hard time being optimistic because luck never just seems to fall into my corner.

Ashley shared something with me last night that I have thought about all day tofay. A real life changing comment, that I'd like to pass on.

Upon her departure from ER, she stated to Dr. Whitesides "There is nothing more that I can do .....It's no longer in my hands" .......... To which Dr. Whitesides replied ......"Ashley, it never was".

Truly amazing. God is so much greater than all of this. I certainly don't want to sound "preachy" ...But the Lord Promises us in His Word that He "will give you the desires of your heart". Undoubtedly, not only does God know the number of hairs on our head, but He also knows of our DESIRE to give life. I honestly believe that as long as we hold this desire in our hearts .... that God will deliver. He has to ...He made a promise, and God NEVER defaults. My prayer for the past year has been for God to take the desire out of my heart if it is not HIS will for me to have a child. Therefore .... If the desire is GONE.....I will no longer yearn for it. ...Translated ......it's kind of pointless to get upset about something you don't have ... if it's something that you don't even want!!!!
So far ..... I still have the desire in my heart. In fact...the desire has grown stronger. And I believe that God's Word is true.

...I ask your forgiveness in advance if I insulted or offended anyone. T'was certainly not my intent.
Much love to you....

On the contrary Courtney I love to see that view and I feel the same way. For me it is Gods hands. I just hope gods plans are for all of us to have a baby! GO GOD

If God brings you to it. He will bring you through it. Happy moments, praise God. Difficult moments seek God. Quiet moment, worship God. Painful moments, trust god. Every moment, thank God

As Courtney said I hope I did not offend anyone!

No offense taken. Thank you ladies. I just wanted to add that I have prayed many times recently to have the desire taken away from me because I am truly afraid of moving forward with this, and of turning my back on what I feel is probably our last attempt.

Courtney: Sooo sorry that you are sore! I am shocked that you are in such pain. I think that you should call the clinic in the morning if you are still hurting. Get well soon!

As for me we are moving right along! I think EC will hopefully be on Wednesday. The same day as Courtney goes in for ET! How cool is that?? My estrogen is at 509. They said that that is good?? I start Low Dose HCG tomorrow as well as Ganarelix. 4 shots a day!!! I am already bruised and it has only been a week!

CKL: Only 3 more days!!!!!!!! Are you even sleeping? XOXO
Ashley: How are you doing?
Love to all

Well Ladies...while I am not normally a very religious person, i am discovering that I am quite spiritual (does that make sense?) and I completely agree with the message Courtney. You are COMPLETELY right! For some reason we seem to think that if we can take away the desire that the hurt will be less....well isn't that accepting failure before we even try? i heard a quote on oprah (sorry for the oprah reference, but it made sense) that said " energy flows where your attention goes"...essentailly if we keep feeding ourselves with negative energy, that is where our attention will be focused...somehow we need to keep positive about this and know that in some way this will happen, and trust that there is a greater energy other than our own. what we do have control over though is how we choose to "chanel" that energy. That quote had a huge impact on me. The other thing someone told me that was very powerful was that at each roadblock you can break it down to this...you have a decision to make, you can either be depressed and down, or you can choose not to be, and find the energy to see the positive. it sounds simple and a bit silly but it is very true. it is up to you how you choose to deal with hardships, it doesn't seem like it sometimes but it is.

anyways....courtney that is great! 16 is a great number....and even if the 50% rule is true, that is 8! Yea!

Sonya....wednesday is going to come quick...i am very excited for you and can't wait to hear about how it goes. Now put on those comfy pants!

Me...UGGGGG this waiting is terrible. the cramps etc. have subsided quite a bit...still here off and on but not nearly like they were mid week. I can't believe it but i just realized today that I have been taking the IM shots for 2 weeks already! no wonder my butt is so sore...at least that means that they are almost done. Please send any positive vibes any of you have!!!

have a great day today..it is going to be beautiful! Courtney and Ashley please keep us posted on how the eggs are doing!

Hi girls ....
Okay ...Alice called me this morning and shared with me all the information that she personally has knowledge of.
We retrieved 16 eggs ... of those 16....14 of them were mature. ICSI was used on all 14, and 10 of them fertilized. ...Sooooo ...we have 10 little embryos right now. That is all that I know. They wouldn't give me any more information. Apparently they won't look at them again until Monday morning, which seems like an eternity from now. I'm a little concerned that ICSI was used on all of them. For some reason, I was under the impression that they would do half ICSI and the other half 'natural'. It makes me wonder if maybe there was a problem that they haven't shared with me. Also ... I am concerned that 4 of them did not fertilize with the ICSI. Does this mean that we have a "quality" issue as a whole?

CKL ..... thank you for sharing. I've heard Oprah talk about the book "The Secret" so much lately. I'm not sure if the references you made were from that book or not, but it is certainly something that I think I could benefit from exploring.
I'm glad that your cramps are subsiding. ...Again, I think that's a good sign.

..I'll update more later....

Hi girls,

All of your posts about God is bringing tears to my eyes b/c I need his strength more than ever right now....

We had really bad news and I'm in a bit of shock. We got a call that 4 fertilized on Friday and then they called back 2 hrs later and said that they did not look good and they were not doing well. I guess they weren't developing as they should.

Dr. Whitesides called me Friday night and talked to me for a while. He was very nice, has no answers right now (probably never will), but he let me know how perplexed he is about this...after so much success last time.

We are now waiting to see if any make it to Day 3 which is Sunday. Dr. Whitesides said not to get my hopes up b/c it did not look good...but miracles happen. I have been through this my first time and know it is not realistic. I had to take the prog shot today "just in case" and it was more painful in more ways than one.

Congrats to Courtney! That's so great and I'm praying for your success!
And...can't wait to hear how things progress for you this week Sonya - sounds like it's looking good!
CKL ---not too much longer!!!!
