It's funny. I was depressed as well after the transfer. MAybe not the first day but the days following. I think I am so used to trying to get pregnant and never working that I think I was just anticipating the negative result as well. I know that sounds very negative and I try to snap myself out of it but I find myself thinking bad thoughts. We went through so much with this process between the meds, abdominal discomfort, surgery, watching follicles grow, fertilization, transfers, etc... To top it off I'm waiting to get any type of symptoms but I think I've started inventing some. It's very hard I'm not going to lie. But we have to hope for the best and if it doesn't work, dust ourselves off, go out to a very nice dinner , have some really good wine and prepare to do it again. My embryologist said that women going through IVF have to mentally prepare themselves to go through this about 3 times. He said that 85 percent of women get pregnant after the 3 time. However, you could be one of the lucky ones and get pregnant after the first time. It's a waiting game, thats all it is. I wish you all the luck and I will pray for you.

congrats on the et yesterday! me too!

I kinda feel a bit weird. like whoa! I'm not ready! I don't know if part of it is not wanting to get too excited just in case, or something happened.

I had my first person congrat me yesterday- I was making copies of the u/s at time of insemination and copies of the ebies that they put in at walmart yesterday and walmart picture guy congrat'ed me- it's like whoa- i'm not ready!

we were just married 2 years ago so still kinda fresh feelings and the best thing I can compare it to is that the wedding night- like it's all over- all the planning and everything is over.

the IVF thing is all over (for now) just sit and wait- no dr's appts looming and no blood tests... a little bit of a let down. is that similar to you?

best of luck- and keep in touch! we'll have BFPs together!

I just had my first ET on Monday and also had 2 embryos transferred. The waiting now is what gets you down cause its been such a long road and daring to dream about a positive result is scary when it might not happen. I feel so out of control and I hate not being able to plan ahead. I'm anticipating all sorts of outcomes and at other times trying not to think about it at all. What we mentally put ourselves through is really cruel so don't beat yoursefl up it's just a natural reaction. Good luck!

I hear you about not knowing if you can do this again. This is my first time as well and I know some women do this so many times until they acheive pregnancy. It's very scary. Why are you so angry with your husband?

Yeah I agree with you. My husband gives me the shot at night when he comes back from work. Don't stress out too much. I'm sure it was a cranky day, thats it.

Hey bnb,

Don't get mad at your husband. Think about it in this way, he wil be the father of your lovely child very soon.

I know exactly what you mean about feeling blue after ET, I burst into tears after I got out of theatre, cause I was so emotional, then followed two of the worst weeks of my life. I felt sad and abandoned, (daft I know) it's just the nurses were so kind and supportive and I'd had my hand held all the way, with an appointment, a scan a new medication to focus on and then your left to go it alone for two weeks, so I do sympathise. I am extremely lucky in that I got my BFP this morning, phoned the clinic and spoke to one of the nurses who was at my ER and did my ET, she was so happy for me and I told her to tell the rest of the team, as they all wanted to know how it went, and she said but you'll see them all at the scan, and I'm so looking forward to seeing them again and thanking them. I guess I'll be a bit sad when I get handed over to the maternity department, but it's all just another step along in the process. All the best to you.

I didn't feel excited at all after my Embryo Transfer.
I was just like, "Eh! Whatever... if it happens, it happens, and if not, Oh well... I'll just have to suck it up..."
I was convinced it didn't work and that I wasn't pregnant...

I got a BFP and am pregnant now... don't worry... it's normal.
Best of Luck though!
