ny4thtry - Glad to see that you are doing another cycle. I saw your post on the Dec/Jan board and I was happy that you can try again. I know it must of been really hard last cycle. You finally got your BFP and then it was taken away. I know I would have been devastated. As far as joining new boards, I am kind of with you. I am also on the Jan/Feb/March board but I am finding it hard to try and connect to new people right now. I am just tired of being on new boards. In the past year I have been on the April/May, June/July, Aug/Sep, Oct/nov/Dec and now Jan/Feb/March. This whole IVF crap is getting really annoying. The hardest part of it all is that the girls I cycled with in April/May are now having their babies and I am still stuck here. Ok sorry for the whining. Hope this cycle is the one for you. You have been through so much. Please keep us posted. This board is still pretty active so you might as well just stay here.

Karen - I was glad to see that you are doing better. No more spotting. YEAH!!!! Maybe you can relax a little. Good luck at your u/s.

gina1234 - My sister had not pregnancy symptoms with both or her pregnancies. Just be thankful that you don't.

Melo_p - Glad to hear from you. Yes 2009 will be our year. The donut eating comment cracked me up.

Happy Monday to you all. Back to work. YEAH!!!!! The past 2 day I have done absolutely nothing. Sat on my couch and watched movies. Sometimes I get to the point where I don't want to socialize anymore. So after going out Friday night, I told DH that I was not going anywhere this weekend. I love being a bum.

Jandc, I'm sorry this is lingering for you. I pray that things will resolve so you can move along. The ups and downs must be so hard. I hope you are coping as best you can.

Jill, I also hope something happens for you soon. I think donor eggs are a wonderful option and that it's a shame insurance companies don't cover it just like many don't cover IVF.

Kas, did you get your u/s scheduled today?

Karen, so glad to hear that you have stopped bleeding. Let us know how your u/s went today. Oh, and I agree with you and NY about the different boards. I still love to come back here and keep in touch with all of you ladies because you really helped me through a big emotional time in my life.

NY, it's great to hear from you and that you're starting stims in a few days. I admire you for enduring what you have and keeping the faith to try again. I hope and believe this year will bring you the blessing you deserve.

Hey Gina, I think the symptoms can vary from week to week and probably different with each person. I had sore chest the first few weeks but that disappeared awhile ago. I am tired less but sick more often. I think you're doing fine. Remind me when is your next u/s again?

Anyone have any fun plans for New Years? DH and I decided to take a little mini vacation to Orlando this weekend and see Cirque du Soleil and go to Universal Studios. I'm excited and just hope I feel well enough for us to travel! It turned out to be a really cheap trip and may be our last for awhile.

Karen -- Great news you are not bleeding anymore. You are getting so far along now and I am hoping you are finally safe! Make sure you keep getting checked! Will you do an amnio?

NY --- Glad you hear you are trying again! I am hoping this 4th round will be my charm, but if not I will try again, although money is getting tight!

Gina -- I have the same symptoms as you at 6 weeks! Not much going on for me. I heard that morning sickness starts to fade around 10 weeks and my friend only even had headaches and she is 27 weeks now. Be happy about that lack of symptoms...I am sure you are fine. If you are worried, then see if you can get an ultrasound to double check!

JennJenn Congrats on the BFP! WAY TO GO!

Kas -- do you know your retreival date? If you do then count from there and add 2weeks. say its November 30, so december 1 would be day 1 + 2 weeks is day 15. So on December 14th you would be 28 days or one month pregnant! KWIM?

Had my ultrasound. We saw a fetal pole and heartbeat! The doctor said all looked great!

Kas, your embryo retrieval was the December 6th (from your posts).

That means you are 23 DPO today + 14 = 37 days pregnant or 5.2 weeks. I was going to give you a due date, but I will let you figure that out...I find it fun to check!

Turnaround

Post by babyhope1 » Mon Dec 29, 2008 9:30 pm

Hello ladies, you haven't heard from me in a while. Perhaps you forgot all about me. Anyway, if you haven't figured it out I dropped out of the board after my IVf was negative because I just couldn't stand to hear women complain about their symptoms or their betas and what they were going to name their babies or tell their families etc. It was just to hard to hear that and I didn't want the sympothy of oh I am so sorry it didn't work out for you babyhope blah blah blah.

So, I returned to the IUI procedures that had worked for me before but changed from clomid to gonanatropins (follistim) using my leftover meds. My doc changed the protocol because instead of spending 2 grand on meds and 3 grand on bloodwork and ultrasounds (after spending 15 grand on IVF) I was sick and tired of their games. I just gave up but was giving a halfass effort. It was a game and I completely got duped. I felt like such a sucker, that IVF was the fastest way to get back what I had lost (my twins). It was simply a quick way to get into a lot of debt and all for nothing.

So for all you ladies who did get a BFN I wanted to let you know that there is still hope out there. My IUI worked and I am 5 weeks along. I just found out at Christmas. Knock on wood, I am going through what Karen did in regards to hesitation and waiting for another miscarriage. It isn't if the other shoe will drop, its when it will drop for me today.

So, I have not been believing it, not bonding with it, nor letting it rule my life. Sorry to be so negative about getting a positive but I can't get emotionally involved this time, the toll is too high.

Best wishes to all.

babyhope1,
Glad that your IUI worked. I can totally understand you. I am sure it is not easy to lose a child even if she is still 1 or 2 cm ..........
Please try to be positive and I am sure you will be ok Honey. I am sure if you try to relax and just think about good things your baby will be OK.
I have you in my prayer and babaydust to you.

Got personals and an update tonight, and i need to type fast as running out of battery on laptop and lead is in the car DH is driving....pressure!!!

NY SO glad you are getting started, i will be following your progress and cheering from the sidelines, you really deserve this.....

Karen I am staying here on this thread as well, I 'm so not ready to move over yet and even then, this is where i feel safe and comfortable :) As for symptoms, not really. The only think i can say is a 'rushing' sensation like adrenalin, or anxiety rushes up through me quite often. Is that a pg symptom or just anxiety? I dont know but i notice it quite often throughout the day....

Gina I think we would all like symtpoms to reassure us, but dont worry, you are over 10 weeks and doing great - i think you have been lucky thats all, but each pregnancy is different, so if you have another you could be glued to the toilet  and then you will remember what you said

Foreverlove THANK YOU for the calculator site, it sets my date at Aug 29th withich muct be right there with you i'm guessing??? I loved the site, especially as it goves due dates for more than one!! If its twins they are due on DH's birthday (how amazing would that be? :D )

To Have Fun I am totally with you on the movie kick right now. This is a long story but to cut it short, Blockbuster took money from my card unauthorised and then made a fuss about paying it back. I stirred up so much sh*t for them over this that they paid me back and credited my Blockbuster card for $60. So needless to say we are watching a lot right now as well

Jen Jen Congrats on the BFP, i know you had the positive tests but its great to get it confirmed and good luck with Wed's beta!!

WonderceEnjoy your mini-vay to Orlando, i am very envious!!! Me and DH go back (FL is home to us) end of Jan but its only for 2 days and is for business, so enjoy the FL weather and have a great time!!!!!

Lynnie Thanks for working out my dates!!! I checked it allon the site that foreverlove recommended and you are spot on, i am 5.2 days. SO to me (who has trouble working out how many dpo i am) you are a mathematical genius!!!! I was a history major so math has always been ,my sworn enemy!!!!

FANTASTIC news on the U/S , so pleased they could see everything, that must put your mind at rest and allow you to enjoy this!!! So haow far along are you right now??

Babyhope So glad you got your BFP!!! Anyone that has had a negs or disappointments will understand how you feel. The disappointments come hard. This time, however you have discovered the issue you had before was the MTHFR and i know those B's and folic acid should eliminate the same problem from coming back. We are here for you....\

As for me, I am kind of disappointed. As you may remember my RE office left a message on Fri for me to call on Monday to schedule an early U/s this week, but when i called they said my insurance wouldnt authorise it as they wont do it till you get to a certain point as they consider it unneccsary. I think that sucks and the earliest i can go is Jan 14th at which point i will be 7weeks 4 days. To me thats crazy late and i feel i need the reassurance!!!

I still think this may be a mistake and i think i might start to believe its real if i can SEE something. I might sound wacko but i keep thinking someone's going to call and say 'sorry we made a mistake' I just want to know its real!!! I think its because i've had so many disappointments and its been a tough road trying to get PG (i know we all feel this) i cant let myself enjoy YET...... got to go battery SO LOW X X X X

Kas -- I am shocked, with IVF you have a higher chance of an ectopic and so for that reason alone they should be checking for the embryos and making sure nothing is in the tubes.

I would argue and heh...make up symptoms like side pain... to get an ultrasound. I am evil!

I agree!! Unfortunately that scheme wont work as i have no tubes, but i'm going to call back and ask how much for a self-pay u/s. I think i NEED to put my mind at rest. I keep thinking i'm not pg anymore and i just want to tell my mom if i am. We dont have much family so she is the only one that needs to know, but i cant tell her till i know for sure.

Will update tomorrow after i call in :) If you think of any other schemes to get a free u/s let me know

Kas --

My OB scan today was $450 ... my insurance paid 90 percent.

Ok...say you having pains and spotting! Your HCG is so high, you should know ASAP how many you are dealing with. What if it was 8??? Of course its not, but that would be dangerous and you should know!

I think even if you have to pay you should got, but wait till 6.2/6.3 weeks to make sure you have a good chance of seeing fetal pole, so that would be next Monday.

It sucked at 5.6 weeks seeing no fetal pole, the week wait was AWFUL. I was sure I miscarried due to having very mild symptoms.

hi all, well my u/s was PERFECT today!! measured at exactly 11 weeks (which i am) and had another good heartbeat (151)..and we watched it move around- flailing some arms and stretching out it's legs. it was soooo cool . my husband was shocked it moved.. he he.

the area the bleed occurred we could see, but it looked like 'it was resolving' according to the tech (although he said for the official report, i'd have to ask my dr.), as the area was more gray than black colored (as active bleeds are).

so we're elated and finally feeling like this will come to fruition.

lynnie- i'm so glad your u/s was good too.

gina- i've second guessed every symptom i HAVE had, and cursed everyone that i haven't. my boobs have only felt swollen on a few days, they are no bigger yet (disappointing!), my worst symptom has been fatigue...total fatigue. had some periods of nausea, had acne, itchy skin. no real food aversions, no vomiting... so although it's easier said than done, try not to worry too much- the best thing for me was DISTRACTION.

babyhope..so glad you're PG! and glad you got in touch with us again. i'd been wondering. best wishes for the next 7 weeks. may you be blessed.

NY- YES get on that DHEA train ... why not hey? i've been feeling quite unattractive these days too..no energy most days to do myself up nicely, my waist is getting bigger but my flat chest hasn't changed much.. it's a bummer, and it felt worse for me when i was between cycles.. just down on myself.

kas. hope your mind can be put at ease, u/s or not. with numbers like that you're definately PG..but i guess we all know anything can happen and i'm the worry-queen. so maybe self pay u/s is your best bet.

jenjen- CONGRATULATIONS!! that's wonderful. hugs to you and dh

hi mary, wonder, foreverlove, melo, not hopeless.... i'm hoping to see the cirque one day soon too! and hi chris...have fun 'being a bum'..good for you. i'm usually in my pj's by 7 or8 pm each night..so i'm with ya.

best to all, karen

Good Morning Ladies - I am going to do some personals and I apologize if I miss anyone.

KAS - I completely understand about wanting the ultrasound. I just now went for my second beta - I dont know why my clinic waits for a week to do the second one. The good news is my ultrasound is scheduled for 1/7 - cant wait.

karenvancouverisland - I am so happy for you that you got to see you little one and it was even moving for you - I am so jealous!!! I am also staying on this thread right now as I dont want to jinx myself by moving over, not to mention there are so many wonderful ladies on this board.

Gina, I would love symptoms to reassure me, the only symptoms I have are swollen breasts and they are very tender, but that could be the progesterone I am still on.

To Have Fun - I am the same as you right now, when I am not at work I am camped out in front of my tv watching movies. I was even 65 here in Ohio on Sat (which is extremely rare) and I didnt even go outside and enjoy it.

Jen Jen - Congrats on your BFP!!!!

Babyhope - Congrats on your BFP - I can only imagine what it has been like for you, just know we are here for you thru good times and bad.

lynniecat - Congrats on seeing the little one!!!

Well ladies I must get to work, I am only here today then off until next Monday - yeah. I will be on pins and needles waiting for the doctors office to call this afternoon with my second beta, come on big numbers!!!
