How should I prepare myself???

Post by Lady_J » Thu Dec 11, 2008 5:37 pm

Hi Ladies... Well, I got a BFN on Dec. 5th for my first round of IVF. I am going to start a new cycle in February with BCP and March ER/ET.

What should I do to prepare my self for the new cycle? I thought I prepared myself for the last but I want to get everyone elses input. Especially those that have gotten their BFP out of it.

Last cycle.. I started taking Prenatal Vitamins a few months prior to IVF. Stopped smoking in Oct. so the month I started BCP's. Very rarely do I drink alcohol.. only on rare occasions. I don't use drugs.

Any input would be so much appreciated.

I am 31 years old... DH is 34.
I have only my right falopian tube... some damage.
No left tube after ruptured with Eptopic PG.
I had natural PG in 1998... I have 10yr old daughter
Natural PG in 2000 which resulted in Eptopic PG.
Diagnosed with PCOS in 2006 and I am on Metformin.
1st IVF cycle... Oct/Nov 2008 = BFN
2nd IVF cycle scheduled for Feb/Mar 2009

Thanks again ladies and good luck to all.

Hi Lady_J - Sounds like you've made a lot of positive life changes already. Some other things you could do are acupuncture, fertility yoga, and diet changes. Quitting smoking and keeping alcohol to a minimum are big plusses - so you are on the right track.

Also, whatever activities you can do to help you keep a relaxed mind about the process are also beneficial. This could be anything from meditation to a favorite hobby. The important thing mentally is to be happy and grateful now - any BFPs would just make it better!

Good luck!
