Progestrone Injections - Question about whether it absorbs

Postby yacopee » Wed Mar 18, 2009 5:05 pm

Hello,
I am on my 2nd round of IVF. Last month I was on the progestrone in oil injections and my bloodwork came back in the 50's w/ the prog levels. This month due to complications w/ the oil injection, I was switched to progestrone in ethyl oleate injections. Schrafts said it is as effective and my doctor confirmed. It's a much thinner liquid so you can use a 23g needle which helps. However, my blood work just came back (my transfer was this past friday) and my progestrone level is only 18. They put me on vag suppositories last night (2 times a day 200 mg). My question is, how can my progestrone level be so low if I am doing my injections daily (2ml every evening). Is it possible the injection is not absorbing properly b/c I have so many knots in my hips from all the injections?
