Possible Polyps?

Post by IndieBlue » Sat Apr 18, 2009 12:58 am

I posted this as a follow up in my other post but wanted to start a new thread just in case someone might not read the other about Antagon.

Last month I went in and the RE said she thought she saw polyps. I went back after AF and she did a saline sono and said that it looked a bit bumpy but she didn't see anything like polyps? She did a biopsy as she said the back of my uterus looked a little fuzzy. She did a really in depth biopsy OUCH! and said it might help with implantation as well.

The biopsy came back okay....but still I'm worried about the implantation since before my AF cycle she thought she saw polyps. I want to make sure I'm in the best possible shape to be a baby home ;) so should I request my OB/GYN do a polyp removal? It'll set me back a month...right? The lab at my RE's office closes in July so I could be on BCP's and stuff that month and that still gives me time for a polyp removal if needed.

Again, what would you guys do if you've ever had a polyp or even thought they saw one but didn't confirm it?

What is the biopsy you speak of? A hysteroscopy? That's how my RE found mine, they didn't show on the saline sonogram. If your RE actually looked inside and didn't see polyps, I wouldn't worry. You could always ask for a hysteroscopy. Getting anything removed will delay your cycle by a month.

During a regular sonogram to check follicles before beginning any meds the RE saw something that 'might' be polyps. She wanted me to wait till my next cycle was over to check again with a saline sono (day 9 of my cycle) so when I went in she said she saw a little bumpy area on the bottom of my uterus and the back looked 'strange' so she did a biopsy. The biopsy came back normal, as did everything else they tested.....but no she did not do the camera, only the saline sono. That's kind of why I'm wondering if I should request that....then again, I really do think I had implantation with my first cycle as I got a BFP on HPT's for 3 days after the trigger was out of my system....by BETA time it was less than 5 though :( So implantation might not be my problem.

If it were a concern I'm sure your RE would mention it. My RE was already removing a uterine adhesion during my hysteroscopy, but since she saw all the polyps she went ahead and did a D&C. I had around 20 though!

I have lots of polyps in my uterus. I also has a biopsy related to very long periods. This did not prevent my from getting pregnant in anyway. I don't know very much about it though. But even now at 25 weeks, I have polyps on my cervix that cause bleeding (which freaked me out at first).

So if the doctor is not worried, you should not be either! Good luck!

Indie- I am so glad that you have started things again. I am hopeful that this is your time.
On my second cycle they had problems during the transfer, and it was then that they discovered a polyp. They were pretty sure that was why my second cycle did not work.
So, I went in and had the polyps removed before doing my first cycle. The doctor originally thought I had multiple polyps, but when they went in it was just a little one. I guess the rest of them had disappeared.
However, we all know how the third cycle went:(

Anyhow, if the doctor doesn't seem concerned, then it is one less thing that you should worry yourself about:)
