hello to all my sisters! i figured i'd catch up on some personals while i count down to needle time!

katie here i am! stimming is going fine...gonal-f feels like an old friend by now..i feel like i can jab myself in my sleep....since i didnt use repronex last cycle i'm getting to know her all over again...she's a lot more tricky with all that mixing and needle changing! also it makes me bruise everytime! i'm glad your AF is already going away...what a b-i-t-c-h! are you still on track to the same start day?

latrell and cal4242 WELCOME!! trust me it is VERY normal to be confused and scared the first cycle (and the 2nd and 3rd...) what we are going through is never easy, but joining us will help i promise! we are all here for you! any questions, just ask away! :D

hms i'm not exactly sure about the tea. i'm drinking 3 cups a day right now. it just tastes so good and it calms my nerves. i know my RE says not to take herbal supplements, but the ingredients for the tea seem pretty basic and not harmful. i might stop drinking it after ER just to be safe. they have other great tea there for stress relief which may be helpful for you during the 2ww! i had my acupuncture appointment today and then again on tuesday. i am going as often as i can, and using it as PMA that i will make it to ER this time! :D i cant believe you are going to india!! how long will you be gone for? morning sickness and indian food?? good luck with that! because you know you will be preggers! haha

mrsmac gonal-f has extra in it too. i always keep the little bit of extra in each pen just incase i need an extra dose and run out..i can give myself like 20 shots to add up to the dose i need! its not fun, but like samgarkay said..its liquid gold! how is your DH? how often do you get to talk? does he get to come home anytime soon?

moorebaby are you a teacher? my DH teaches 8th grade and he hates it haha buncha no good spoiled brats....he wants 5th grade, but there are no openings around here at all. gonal-f is a breeze for me by now...i wish all the shots where that easy. so far so good...i hope these follies are growing!!

claud OMG OMG OMG!! that is just great news! your RE saying that must make you filled with hope and joy!! PMA PMA PMA! i'm do excited for you! :D how are you feeling today? i hope the cramps are gone!

dodo no caffeine in the tea! they also have a store online that you can order from so you dont have to go all the way up to LA! i am super jealous of your warm weather....we are freezing here! any sign of AF yet?

someone asked me about my acupuncture and where they put the needles, but i cant remember who....sorry....everytime i go they put the needles in different places depending on my cycle day. since i started stims they have been putting a bunch in my stomach (whats a few more pokes right?) then they mostly focus on my arms, hands, legs and feet...sometimes they put some in my ears and my forehead. they are treating me for endo, and trying to get my follies to respond better to the meds, and also for stress release.

afm nothing new to report..just stimming away. i had acupuncture today and feel asleep for 2 hours!! haha crazy! i have to get up wicked early tomorrow and go down to reading ma. just to get bloodwork done...i figure while we are out we will get some breakfast and try to find an early movie...anything to keep me busy so i'm not sitting at home waiting for the nurse to call me...that is seriously my least favorite part of all this...the waiting for the phone calls....it is enough to make me lose my mind. so if i can get out of the house and keep my cell out of my view i will stay alot calmer!
alright...time for my repronex! good night everyone! :)

Hi all - I finally had my AF. It was full blast for me today, cramps and all. My final finale as I call it !!!!! I want my life back. I don't understand how people decide when to stop ????? I'm going into my actual 3rd cycle not including cancelled cycles. I've lost 3 pregnancies don't know if I can do it again ??? The BFN cycle isn't easy to get either, then what ????? I have a child that I can't even enjoy bec ause of all of this, is this living ???? I'm sorry to be soooo dramatic but I know I'm not alone here with these feelings !!!!!! I think it is scaring me that the end of the road is near and not sure of the results of it. I just wish I already knew the outcome of it all. The irony of it all, being preggo 4 times and being infertile just doesn't make sense but what does, right ??????

Hello ladies, thanks for doing the AF dance for me! I'm still waiting. Please keep dancing! Thanks so much! For ladies living in the cold or freezing area, please remember to keep warm. I'm going to do a Temp-Up dance for you gals! xoxo.

About acupuncture, I agree with Franny. The area that the needles put will be different depends on the day of your cycle.

moorebaby: praying for u that AF will come at the right time!

CAL4242: welcome to the roller coaster! it's hard and hope you find tons of support here! GL to ER and ET!

msmac: sorry for the freezing. Keep warm!

hms Good PMA! I hope I can be like you in the 2ww. Need some prayers! Also, we're not planning to travel back to Hong Kong until we got a BFP and after a live birth. My family over there are not too supportive. If I go back there, I will not let them know what I'm going through. But because I've been gaining weight crazy from the meds, I don't want to get additional pressure from my family when they see how much weight I have gained. That's why I want to keep going until live birth before going back.

rlk1: Really excited for you! Crossing fingers for your ET on Friday!

Katie: How's the chinese food? I hope you enjoy!! xoxo

latrell22: Welcome to here! I totally into what you said. If you see my signature, you know that I had found fertility help from 1998-2002 and had 2 losses from my natural pregnancies in 2003. Since then, I felt like a loser and didn't have the strength to try or fight for it anymore. Only until end of 2008, I found my strength back and tried again last year. It's a little too late because I run out of eggs and have to go for donor egg IVF. I'm glad to find these forums and support from ladies going through the same things like me. One thing is different is that these ladies are fighters and they really shocked me. I get the continuous strength from them. I had one BFN end of last year. Until the past experience, I might give up. The power of the group support really guilds me to keep going and never give up. And that one day you'll see a light in front of you. I believe and I wish you believe too. xoxo.

Franny: Thanks for the tea info! I'm totally into what you said. The phone calls from RE really driving me and DH crazy. Especially if the eggs were not good just like last time, RE hesitated to tell us how the embies going. Initially he told us that he'd call us everyday about the status of the embies. Later on, he blamed us back that he's no info to tell us. We were so confused and stressed. We finally found out that he would like to give out good info to us ASAP. But everytime if the info was not as good as expected, he would get upset on himself and blame us as well when we called him back the time expected. Now, we understand more about him, we are just crossing fingers that everything's good this time. And same to you, crossing fingers that you have a smooth cycle and have BFP! xoxo BTW, I went to a mall today and found a new tea store opened, at least the first time I saw them there. They have tea tasting. I tried one with white green tea + super calm+ antioxidant + boost up immune system. And my allergy symptoms stopped just by one sip. But I need to find something caffeine free. I'm going to look into T Salon website. Thank you.

jenice: congrat to your AF! Glad you vent it out! We're here for you!

Good morning Ladies!! I hope you all had a nice weekend

Jenice-I hope you are feeling more positive after your venting because we all need to do it sometimes. I feel like this past year was so consumed by IVF/infertility that I can't remember anything else that happened!!! But the end product WILL be worth this craziness that we put ourselves through. But on another note...YAH for AF...now what is your next step?

dodo=still doing the AF dance for you and keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out with your donor and the testing!

moorebaby-has AF stayed away this weekend? You and DH have such a nice attitude about this process...I'm such a NUT case that I would have been obsessing over this!! Hope it holds off until Tuesday...just 2 more days!!

Franny-when is your first U/S to see how your follies are doing? What is different about this approach than last cycle with your dominant follie? GL and can't wait to hear the progress!! 2 hour nap in acupuncture?!!? that's crazy!! I fell asleep once but I usually can't since for some reason my feet always get FREEZING during the acupuncture and that's all I can think about

mrsmac-I'm sure the extra Follistim is OK but as the other ladies said I would just give my RE a heads up but I also save the end of all the viles in case I need them in the future!

latrell22-welcome to the board! it has been such a huge help/relief for me since joining and I don't think I could have gotten through the ups and downs without it!! There is a post on the introductions forum that give you all the codes for the terminology and you pick it up fast!!

lou-you are almost there!!! Have you decided against POAS??!!? Keep us updated of any symptoms!

rlk1-sorry to hear the estrogen is making you have all these crazy symptoms!! It doesn't affect me as much as the Lupron gives me those damn headaches!! Last night was my first shot so I'm giving it a couple days before they begin:( I hope your lining check went great and that you start PIO tonight!! Friday is soooo close!!!

bei-they just gave me my pap at my saline ultrasound apt since my yearly check up has also just passed so it shouldn't be a problem.

hms-when is your next apt to see the dominant follies? I hope the other ones catch up!!

msmac-how is stimming going?

AFM....so excited that this process has started for me!!! Had my first Lupron shot last night and I stop BCP's on Tuesday!!! I go for acupuncture Friday and I'm looking forward to the 3 weeks from now!!!! PMA, PMA, PMA!!!!

xoxo

Hello Ladies!! I hope all are staying warm and the few with the warm weather... PLEASE SEND IT OUR WAY!!!!

rlk1- Sorry about just saying EP.. I work in electrophysilogy (implanting pacers/ablations). We like to say we're the electricians of the heart. How did your SnS go today??? I hope all is good and you can get your ET on friday.

rileybabymaybe- how are the night sweats going? I hope you are done with the meds that are causing them?

gi- I think you should do whatever makes you less stressed and if it means taking time off from work you go girl ( i just turned my head and did a finger snap for you)

rayofsunshine- donor sounds great. when will you guys know for sure she is yours?

claud- test normal YEAH! Having to choose from 11 frosties YEAH!! Having RE say he is 100% positive he will get you pregnant PRICELESS!!!!!

Lou- How does it feel to be PUPO??? I hope time is not dragging. Sending you positive BFP vibes.

Turtle- Yeah to stims!!!! I hope you enjoyed your ride to reading from NH. @ least you are not doing it in the snow.

dodo- still doing the AF hold till tuesday dance!!!

hms- I am so sorry about the anxiety you must have felt with the medication. I find myself so anxious about my meds. I ordered more meds because the thought of running out literally sent me into panic mode.

katie- glad to hear that getting AF again is normal.

jenice- I so get you about your worries. I too have a daughter that I feel like a neglect sometime because of being consumed with IVF. I just make it a point to enjoy my time with her and think only of her when I am around her. I save all my worries and anxieties when I am alone, with my DH, or friends and family. I have thought about "what if I get a BFN..." all I can say is life will go on and it will suck and hurt real bad. I don't know the right answer to any of this, does anyone though? You will get thru this and I pray for BFP's for us all XOXOX

msmac- Yeah to stims.. grow follies grow!!!!

misocial- how did day one of stims go??

latrell22/cal4242- Welcome Welcome Welcome

AFM- Had SnS on sat e2 1973 and 10 folles on left and 3 on rt. My u/s tech said it was normal to have asymmetrical growth. Measured well but they wanted me to continue meds and they wanted them to be a little bigger and come again on today (sun) for another SnS. The same u/s tech did my "stir" today and he said "you grew". Thank god because I am so sick of being is constant discomfort and last night I felt really uncomfortable. DH and I had date night last night. Boy was I fun. Dh kept asking "are you mad @ me" "why are you so pissy" All I could say was "i have no idea and that I think it is the meds". I forgot who asked about when can we have sex before ER. Well needless to say that did not happen nor did I even want it to happen. I just feeling sorry for myself because I am tired of being uncomfortable and I get just a little pissed when my DH ask for an update all he seems concerned with is when he has to do the "deed". See it's the meds making say this ..... right? LOL
So just waiting to hear from the clinic which is usually around 4-5p. God I hope I can take my trigger tonight. I'll update when I hear from the clinic. Hope all have a great day!!!!!

Thanks everyone you are all so amazing! My RE said that they could always check my estrogen levels and if they were low that we could proceed but she advised me that her suggestion would be to wait the three weeks. I know It will all work out and it's very true that it is just annoying :( It will happen eventually I guess when you first start this process its easy to get your hopes up. Now that I have delt with 2 cycles being canceled I can deal with anything including the wait. Well today is my moms B-Day to off to be with her! Have a great day everyone!!!!

bethanyneedsluck: understand how you feel. Hope everything goes your way!

baby hopes: glad to hear the follicles grow! I have a lot of dizziness and sinus and wheezing on the meds even though not everyone have it. maybe you can tell your DH about the side effects of the meds. he might understand when he knows it.

Claud662: happy to hear you have 3 weeks to go!

Hope everyone have a good Sunday!

hi everyone!
so i kept myself out of the house from my bloodwork this morning till now, and although i didnt obsess over it i was checking my cell phone all day. well they decided to call my home phone of course so when i got home i checked my messages and they said to come back tomorrow for a SnS. they said to continue my same meds for tonight and tomorrow am. so well that through me for a loop..ive never had to go back the next day after bloodwork...i was thinking it would be on wednesday. who knows? best not to dwell on it..i'm trying this new thing this cycle called "try not to drive myself crazy with panic and worry!"
the clinic is already closed for the day so theres nothing to do but wait till tomorrow and see what happens! wish me luck!
i hope everyone is having a great weekend! :)

Hi everyone, I'm feeling better guess I just needed to vent. People we know have been having babies lately and of course only had to try like once to get pregnant . Here we are over 2 years later finally get pregnant and miscarry :x It just feels like salt in a wound. I am happy for them of course. I know I have to b e grateful for our daughter alot of people struggle to even have one child. We also have friends who been trying for 7 years and no kids. My DH says I need to concentrate on our life, not compare ourselves to others. But when it comes sooooo easy for others it isn't fair. I guess I'm just frustrated about it. I'm sure everyone can relate to this.

babyhopes - I do feel guilty @ times thinking about myself being grumpy around my daughter and I try not to be. It is really hard though especially after the miscarriage with IVF. I feel bad that she has to go to DR appts alot with me which is far away. I have guilt that I can't provide her a sibling. I know it will be soooo worth it ,if I get pregnant and have a baby but if I don't, I'll be crushed  I know life goes on, but after this journey everything will look a little different I suppose. I've been doing IVF for almost a full year and can't wait till it ends. good luck to you and a BFP also.

claudia - Maybe my AF is also getting me down, it came on with a vengance. I haven't had such a crampy/heavy AF in awhile like this. This is the first one since sfter the miscarriage, maybe that is why ??? Start my BCP tomorrow. SO, I think I would transfer may be mid febuary I guess. I want to stay out of march cause DH, and DD b-day months are then and want to enjoy that with NO IVF.

Dodo928- Thanks I needed to vent. I also gained a million LBS , not sure how much stopped getting on the scale a year ago, refuse to even look @ the scale when the nurse is weighing me. My father last time kept telling me to join a gym. I told him I would be doing another cycle and more meds. My father with no compassion says "you will be as big as a house by then " SOOOOO NICE. Good thing I'm not that sensitive about it. After all said and done I'll go to WW FOR LIFE. I can always lose the weight, can't always have a baby. I'll continue doing AF dance.

CAL4242 - welcome to IVF land. Sometimes I get bummed out but the women here pick you right back up !!!!! It is incredible site, don't know what I would do without it. Good luck with ER and ET.

LOU - last time I POAS and put it on the toilet tank and walked away from it and made DH read it and I was preggers. I was tired of all the drama on us, so give it to DH if you want too. Plus, it was neat for him to see it first and find out before me.

To anyone I missed BABY DUST TO ALL !!!!!!!!!

Franny: good idea! maybe switch to my home phone in my next cycle.!

jenice: thank you for the feedback! I agree with your DH. I hope you don't compare with other fertile women! It's easy to say but hard to do. I don't have feeling for others who're pregnant. I guess everyone's body is different. And everyone can be pregnant at different time. Sometimes when we see others pregnant so easily doesn't mean they didn't have hard work. They might struggle like us but hiding from others. I mean at least that's what I will do. I am fighting alone if I don't have the forums. I didn't tell others what I'm going through because I know no one will support me in the real world trying to get pregnant at 43 and wasting money and time (that's what they said) on donor eggs and the procedures.

Question

Post by latrell22 » Sun Jan 10, 2010 8:43 pm

Hello all! I have been reading through the posts and I was wondering if someone could explain to me what some of the information means such as FET and all the info that alot of you post at the end of your posts?? I'm trying to understand so that once I start and begin to post I will know what info I'm posting and also what things I should be asking my doctor for.

Also, we are a military family and I have a ball coming up during the time that I will start my meds..I'm wondering if they will make me sick or cause any bloating?? I've read that some people have side effects. I hope I don't have too many issues because my dress has already been altered! I would hate to not be able to wear it! :P
