Thanks in advance for all of your great advice...hope you had a great holiday.
I am calling my RE tomorrow, but I had OHSS, had to be tapped once, and the symptoms have now subsided for the most part. Still a little bloated, but nothing like it was. My problem is, I have had a stabbing pain in the upper right quad of my abdomen since the OHSS started, and it is still extremely painful. Mostly when I stand or have been up and moving around. Laying down I have no pain unless I twist. At first I though it might be a pulled muscle, but it is not getting any better (the stabbing pain is actually a bit worse). It's now been almost 2 weeks since the height of the OHSS.
Have you ever heard of a liver contusion or some type of herniation as a result of OHSS? It's the only thing I can think of....?
Just curious because it seems strange for that type of pain, no where near the ovaries....?
Liver issues can result from OHSS, but we have never seen them. I don't know if they result in pain like you describe. I suspect not.
Could it perhaps be your right ovary? Sometimes they twist painfully as they grow during stimulation or as they shrink afterward. As an OhSS case, yours would have grown a lot and shrunk a lot. This condition is called ovarian torsion. These are rare, less than 1% of cycles, but more common than that in OHSS patients. It's very painful, and the pain changes as you shift about, as you describe.
My advice is to be assertive in getting medical attention for whatever you might have. Torsion, for example, can result in a damaged ovary in some cases.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
