Bei - How frustrating! It'll be tomorrow before you know it! Well, for me, it is tomorrow already (I'm in Aus, so a day ahead of you) so do you want me to give him a call and find out for you? LOL - we can pretend I'm from the future!

PMA - I here that ice cream calling you - "Oh, Sophie, oh sophie, don't leave me here in the freezer! Eat me NOW! Women pregnant with twins must feed them". :D Unless of course ice cream is bad for you? Did I read that somewhere on here?

Hi Girls! Lumpy sore bum here  last time I didn't feel this bad until week 5, I have huge lumps and can barely walk or sleep... on the other hand I am with PMA that I felt a kick yesterday, funniest thing, I am sure it was something less dreamy like gas but it really felt like a kick. PMA - meds are really messing with our heads!

kiz- you are in Australia, how wonderful! I visited in 99 and absolutely loved it, not to mention the way you guys speak is soooo sexy!

bei- here is to great numbers all around!!!

purple- you are PUPO! let us know how it went and how many blastobabies you transfered!

rypell - hoping AF does not come until after the weekend, big plans?

PMA - we all find out on the same day and it WILL be 3 for 3 BFP!!! Love your site! WHo drew the girl? Too cute! Ahh the pregnancy super power of smell! I feel super mucnhies coming on and trying not to eat everything in sight. I am also suffering from your symptom of too many sexy thoughts, down girl! You will be eating the ice cream to celebrate! I laid off the chocolate and I am trying to be good, I had GD last time so I need to watch it this time. Twins huh? :) that should be a handful but like my DH said better 2 than none!!! He is awesome!

TDF - Welcome! 5 frozen is great! Yes it will work! :) glad you are joining us!

Maybe - welcome! #1 IVF can be scary but there is great support here and it does happen on #1 so keep the PMA!

Last night my DH broke out the trike for our son to try, he is 19 mos old, he announced to his dad that he was on a "motorkykle" not only did he learn that from daycare but he came home and used it! Too cute! I realize that there are some girls here with kids and some that will have kids in the near future. I hope I am not offending anyone by telling a story of our son. Motherhood is a blessing and I know we all struggle to get there but in my heart I also believe we will all be blessed!

Rio - sexy huh? We went to the UK and France in 2005 and again in 2008 and even though I speak TERRIBLE french, I had more trouble being understood in England than in France because of the terrible accent! :D At least they understood me in Wales! In 2005 when we got on the plane to come home and there were Aussies on the plane and I heard the accent again I thought "OH, no, do we really sound THAT bad?" Nails on a blackboard! 2012 we are planning to come to the US, so I might have to come and visit some of you! Where in Aus did you visit in 99? Also - I can't speak for others, but I'm more than happy to hear about other people's kids. Why not? It's not anyone else's fault that I haven't got my own yet, so you'll not hear any resentment from me.

PMA - I haven't forgotten you!

AFM - man my ovaries are hurting today...hopefully because they are busy working on those eggs. BW and US tomorrow. Yay - I'm so excited. Stab and sniff is going just fine. Though the synarel tastes like dirty socks - well, not that I've ever eaten a dirty sock, but I can imagine!

I also have a question from those of you that have had ICSI (testicular biopsy)- DH is being a big chicken about it. The IVF nurse mentioned a few things that makes him think it is going to hurt a lot. Apparently, according to DH, that anything I'm going through pales in comparison to the mere thought of him having to have his testes squeezed, proded, poked and stabbed by a little old man (our RE). He's only just recently forgiven me for having to drop his pants for the RE to check his testes on the second visit - he figures I knew the RE was going to ask and I kept it a secret from him so he'd still come! LOL. MEN! So my question is - does it hurt? How long for? Can I assure DH that he's not going to have to spend the week in bed recovering from the horror of it? :D :D :D Secretly, I'm hoping it hurts just a little bit...am I a bad person???   :P

Sophie- doing great! I started my Provera today, which I know isn't part of my meds for ivf, but at least I know the ball is rolling and I should start stims in about two weeks!!!!! Feels so good to say that! How are you holding up over there? I would LOVE to find out that you're pregnant with twins!!! That's my dream! I saw a psychic when I was 18 before I knew I had fertility issues and she told me I would have a set of boy/girl twins and then another girl. I've never really believed much in that, but right now I choose to believe :)

rio-the only big plans I needed AF to hold out for was the return of my RE from vacation! But after my bloodwork this morning they assured me AF if nowhere in my near futures, so I started provera to bring her on! So hopefully she'll be here in 2 weeks!

In my little bubble of a world I never considered where everyone is from! How interesting to have friends going through the same thing all over the globe!

you guys are a riot today, I was cracking up reading some of the posts

So I had all 6 little guys make it to day 5 and they were all excellent quality.... woo-hoo! They implanted the two best ones and lets hope they stick! The transfer went really well and the doctor said I had a very long uturus... he sure knows how to talk to the ladies

I ate ice cream a lot when I had the twins, it is a trick to keep you from starving in the middle of the night. Your body digests dairy slower, so a little ice cream or milkshake before bed helps a lot. In fact since I am PUPO I might just have to have my husband get me one tonight... that is if he survived a whole day with the twins we have :)

I saw the dr today and I was given the go to continue meds. No cysts and my lining is "nice". I'm supposed to begin Menopur tomorrow but I'm confused as heck about how to mix it. What do they mean by mixing 1cc to 2 vials?!?!

EShedpard - In your box you will see all the vials with the liquid and across from the the vials of powder. You are going to draw up 1 cc of the liquid from any bottle. They give you lots of the liquid, so don't stress you don't need it all, the medication is in the powder vials. Then you will push the 1cc of liquid it into one of the vials of power, let it mix for a minute then draw it out of that vial and push it into a second vial of power, then draw that out and inject. Does that make sense?

Eshepherd - make sure to ice pretty good and be warned that Menopur can sting like heck, 75 not so bad but 150 is hell, so ice it reall good and maybe even after, have DH pinch a little too. Not trying to scare you but it could hurt. Some people don't feel a thing though... and congrats on a nice lining :D the things that makes us happy these days!!!

purple - how is DH handling the twins? My DH is having a hard time with one!!! Hee hee just makes them appreciate what we do so much more! You are so brave going for a 3rd! And woohoo Miss Long uterus! ;) Congrats on transfering perfect blastobabies!

rypell - I was on provera too and it took me about 6 days after my last one to get AF. Two weeks till pincushion! Crazy how we look forward to being poked and everything else! So cool about the psychic seeing twins. I have a lot of respect for twin mommies, God knows I have my hand full with one!

kiz - I went to Tazmania, Sidney and Cairns and then took a live aboard trip to dive the Great Barrier Reef, loved it! Everyone was just so nice. Hopefully the soreness means lots of follicles! Let us know how it goes tomorrow. We did ICSI but not the thing where they have to poke for sperm, my DH has low numbers but they can pick from his "contribution" not sure how much it hurts, but you are not mean or crazy for wanting him to have a little taste of pain... ;) men usually get away so easy with this...

Bei and Rio - I am near Melbourne (about an hour out) in Victoria. So kind of south but not as far south as Tasmania and not as north as Sydney, somewhere between the two, only better! :D Rio - The great barrier reef is magnificent isn't it? I don't dive, but we've been to the Whitsunday Islands and went snorkelling and it was fab. Loved it (the snorkelling not the islands, but that is another, very long story!).

Good morning ladies!

Phew, I'm so tired today, and I went to bed right after 10pm!!!

Good news, I had an apt yesterday with my nutritionist and I have lost 10 pounds since we first met. Now of course we adjusted the portions so I could eat like a PUPO, no more weight loss, but I'm very happy. I thought the meds would put me at risk for weight gain, but so far so good.

Other than that, nothing much to report. Three orders from people who saw the website. DH seemed a bit... melancholic yesterday. He opened up and told me he finds our life a little boring at times because we don't do much except take care of DS and do chores. It's true that we no longer have free time, or very little and not at times we want it, but hey, it's only temporary. He definitely would be shocked if we have twins, but he would adapt just like I would. I wish I could find something to make him feel better about the whole no free time thing, but even if I offer him to take turns during the weekend, like "next 90 mins are yours, and tomorrow it's my turn" kind of thing... but even if we do that we still have a lot to do. Maybe today if I find the time I'll make a list of all the things we have to do around the house, and that way maybe we can do a big chore and get it done once and for all... Even if I'm PUPO I can still do small chores and help him.

kiz,
LOL the "ice cream call"! Oooh the ever-sweet sweet voice! My dr told me once that during stimms your ovaries start the size of a golf ball and end up the size of an orange! :D So no wonder you feel a little sore right now! Grow follies, grow!

rio,
Hey, Lumpy Bumpy! :) Oh I,m so sorry that you're so sore... can't your dr prescribe vaginal inserts???? Yeah, I keep feeling the kicks, it's the weirdest thing! I can totally understand why they say you feel the quickening earlier after you've had a baby... I thought if you're super vigilant you'll feel them anyway, but looks like our body does detect it! Mmmmh meds may be messing with our heads, but progesterone messes with our regularity... hence the gas, LOL! Explosive cocktail! Thanks for your comments about the website, I found the girl pic on google images, I can't find it anymore. My sister is making other sketches for the website, I want a sketch just like that for the logo (I'll replace it so it's royalty-free, this is just temporary... but I'm in love with that sketch...)

rypell,
oooooh you're getting there girl, you must be counting the days! :D When I started IVF, I also wanted twins. I figured it would be easier since I would only go through the tmts once and our family would be complete. But after having one baby, I know what I'm in for, and having two babies at the same time would take a serious toll on us. Oh if it happens, you're still happy and you just do it and you don't spend too much time thinking about that (you don't have any time left anyway, lol) but still. Part of me wouldn't mind because I would gladly have more kids, part of me would mind because of the extra job, time, money... I'm not sure I'd be able to go back to work, and I'm not made to be a homemaker.

purple,
Oh you made me burst out laughing when I read your dr's comment! LOL! Yeah, they sure know how to talk to the ladies. During my last ER, we collected 21 follies. I was a tad overstimulated and ended up with OHSS, but still, it was a big reaping. Well the doc was "closing up" and when the embryologist told us the final count he said, "Wow, you're a good hen!" To which I replied he should be careful about what he said, because my feet were dangling right next to his head. He apologized, he had been a little carried away by the high numbers, but I'll always remember being compared to a chicken, it was quite funny! :) THAT BEING SAID I was SUPER excited for you girlie!!!! GO EMBIES!!! or BLASTIES! Did you freeze the other little guys? Ooooh now you're in the PUPO group too, I,m so happy! It's very good news!

ES,
yay for the dr,s go-ahead! :D

Okay ladies, time to write some reports, I saw patients yesterday for the first time since I came back to work. I' ve changed a lot in the last year... wow... I'm not the same psychologist I was before, my priorities have changed. I mean, before it was all about the diagnostic because I thought identifying the disease would tell me how to help the patients. Now I still diagnose, but I listen way more to all the rest with a different attitude, and I find it seems to help the patient more. Humility...

Hugs!

It couldn't possibly be rainy and nasty on a day I have bedrest... of course it has to be sunny and 77! Oh well, at least the kids will get outside and have fun with daddy. After doing everything by himself yesterday, last night he said he was exhausted and is very grateful that I take care of the kids... it is always nice to be appreciated. Having twins is not all bad, it is really hard work the first year and then it actually starts having benefits. The first year involved a lot of teamwork and I feel like because of it my husband is a very involved day. Also the kids always have a playmate which is really nice for them and for us. They also have a healthy competition which leads them to so some things faster, talking, learning abcs, riding bikes ect.. they motivate each other to keep up. I would just like the experience this time of having one baby, but if we are lucky enough to have twins again I will be thrilled.

PMAPsy - congrats on losing the 10lbs, that is great. The website was very cool, I hope it brings you lots of enjoyment and business. My husband jokes that we are living in groundhog's day. It feels like we do the same thing over and over every night. We have also learned that sometimes chore just have to wait, I know it seems silly but sometimes it is more important to go do something for your sanity than to have a perfect house. It is also nice if you can sneak in a date once and a while, but I know it can be hard if you don't have anyone to watch your little guy. I laughed that they compared you to a chicken. I think dr's get so excited that they don't think about how what they are saying sounds=)

Kizmet - I spent about 2 weeks in Australia about 4 years ago and loved it. A week of it was in Melbourne while my husband attended a conference. It was a lot of fun and everyone I met was very kind. We managed to go snorkeling on the great barrier reef and it was an experience I will never forget. I am sorry your ovaries are hurting, but hopefully it is because they are growing a lot. Let us know how the ultrasounds went. One of my meds tasted horrible too, it was medrol, and even if I swallowed it fast I would have this nasty aftertaste for about an hour... yuck!

Rio - I am sorry you have a lumpy bum. That stinks! maybe you felt your little embryos burrowing in, that should be happening right about now. Too cute about your son, my son also calls his bike a motorcycle.

Bei - any news on the bw yet?

rypell - At least AF will be here soon and you can get started! I think waiting is the worst part of this while process, it seems like we are always waiting on something=)

Heard that Rio? Your bum stinks so bad we can smell it on the internet!   Sorry, I couldn't resist, blame it on the meds! :D

Seriously, purple, that is so sweet your DH said that about you working hard. Sometimes you wish other people walk a couple of miles in your shoes to see everything you do for them. I'm sorry it's so beautiful outside, but indeed the kids will have fun and you can enjoy a nice quiet day, relaxing. I always feel like an angora cat curling up on a big blanket for a warm nap after I get PUPO. I envy you, here we felt like summer was here a couple of weeks ago, and now we're paying the bill with chilly weather! Blah! Oh, I think I would be up for twins. Dh and I have always been good team workers. I don,t need to tell him that laundry needs to be done if I can't do it, he'll just grab it and do it. Same for the dishes. It helps big time. We haven't had a date since the baby was born. Our families live far, and our friends all have young babies, so they're pretty busy too. A friend gave me the phone number of his babysitter, he trusts her more than he trusts his MIL!!!! But now what we lack is money. We flipped our house when we bought it, and we'll sell it 100k or more compared to the price we paid for it. But we still have to finish the work outside so we can have a garden this summer and sit somewhere to eat. As basic as that. And for a few weeks now we've been finding an increasing number of black ants in the kitchen and bathroom, so we fear we might have to pay for an exterminator. We make a good salary, we're very lucky, but even if we never go out, with that big house and our two dogs, our lifestyle is quite expensive, at least for my salary, so I don't feel like finding new occasions to spend it. BUT summer is here, and soon there will be many free events and festivals in Montreal, so I,m sure I'll find something... LOL let's hope first trimester fatigue doesn't hit too hard or I,ll sleep through most of it, LOL!

Sorry for the rant. What are you doing to keep you occupied during your bedrest? :D

Sophie - There are plenty of inexpensive ways to have a date=) When the kids were smaller and we didn't trust anyone to watch them without us we would have a little date afternoon at home. We hired a babysitter and then we would have a picnic and a movie in our room while the babysitter played with the kids. It was nice because we were still there just in case and too keep an eye on things, but it gave us a break and some time to talk to each other, also cheap=) Summer is nice though, there are lots of family friendly events to enjoy together.

I have been watching movies, catching up on email, and reading books. Tomorrow I am free to get up and do whatever though, so that should help time pass the 2ww faster.
