Oh wow...where do I start.

Bei- TRIPS!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooo excited for you! I am still hoping that there is a second hiding somewhere and they will find it on my first sono in a month. LOL

Lisacdp- No one thinks you are not appreciative. Especially me since I brought it up. :) I fully understand that there are probably parts of pregnancy that are very icky. However, all of us on this board no matter how many times we barf or itch or whatever realize how lucky we are. It's different...we're like some sorority that I never thought I'd be a part of. It's the ones that can look you in the eye and say why would you ever want a baby? Why would you ever want to lose your freedom...you are so lucky you don't have kids. I can't handle the complaining from my IVF sisters. It's the ones that say they wish they never had children or other insensitive remarks that I just want to slap.

Rio- I am getting tons of rest. As for tv...well I am completely addicted to True Blood on HBO. Not sure if anyone else watches it but Eric (one of the vampires) is freakin HOT!!!!!!!!!

Pep- I'm so glad your RE can get you in. I hope mine would do that but not sure if he would. I can't even get into seeing my OB until July 27. I'll be like 11 weeks by then. That will be 5 weeks since I have seen my bean. ARGH...it's horrible. I wish I was in Hawaii with Kamaile so I could have a weekly check up. ;) Lucky Kamaile.

Purplefish- A camping trip??? How exciting! I love camping! I absolutely love it up where you live too. Anywhere in OR or WA. It's such a beautiful part of our country.

Mev- I have absolutely no advice. My hubby and I wonder the same things about testing. Rio brings up such good points. Many of which I agree with but DH does not know how he feels. I guess we will deal with that bridge when we have to cross it. I guess what I am trying to say is that no matter what you choose or what the outcome is...you will at least have my support in anything you choose.

AFM- Still not working. My FMLA finally got approved at work so that's great. My boobs are killing me and I think I have to go shopping for maternity tops tomorrow. Yes I am only 7 weeks but my ta tas were DD to start...they are already growing much to my DH happiness and to my unhappiness. LOL I went to see Eclipse today with a friend. Anyone into Twilight or am I all alone here??? Don't worry...DH teases me all the time that I act like a 15 year old. LOL I did buy the book Girlfriend's Guide To Pregnancy. I can't remember who suggested it but I got it on my Kindle last night. I tried to start reading but ended up getting such a tummy ache that I sent DH to the store at midnight for ginger ale. His first pregnancy run to the store. LOL Glad he was home! Have a wonderful night ladies!

what an exciting day!

Bei - I am so thrilled for you. You have been through so much, what a wonderful blessing! Are you guys super excited?

PA - I am glad you are getting plenty of rest and it sounds like you are catching up on some good TV. I too am up for a huge ultrasound wait. I go in next week for my last one with my RE (it has been almost 3 weeks since the last one), the the OB won't do an ultrasound for 5 weeks... ugh! I love where you live too actually. I grew up outside of Pittsburgh, my parents still live out there and I love going back. Sorry about the chest, hopefully it isn't too painful for you. I can only imagine how huge you are going to get if you decide to breastfeed=)

Lisacdp - you are not unappreciative at. I know pregnancy can be a struggle, especially at the end with twins=) I agree with PA, I think that the women on this board are truly grateful and it is hard to see other people that are so unappreciative of their kids and pregnancy. I don't mind complaining about the discomforts of pregnancy from anyone, but remarks about never wanting kids, or being sorry they got pregnant are what brings me to tears. I am sorry to hear about your morning sickness, I too am struggling. Ginger Ale has worked well for me, and also SeaBands (little pressure point wrist bands).

mev - genetic testing is such a hard and personal decision. For our first we did the blood tests, but I didn't want the amnio, I know the odds are low, but I just couldn't take the risk of a miscarriage after all we went through to get pregnant. Our blood tests all came back fine, and so did the ultrasound (my clinic did an ultrasound at 18 weeks to look for deformities etc..)

rio - You amaze me every day! I am so happy that you are still here sharing and supporting everyone.

pep23 - I am sure everything will be great! OB's are great, but they forget that IVF is so hard and that we need a little extra reassurance. I will be praying that everything is just fine.

Tess - I will be thinking of you on Friday and hoping for the best.

AFM - Today was my first day that I vomited (been dry heaving for the past week). Unfortunately ginger ale and crackers did not help me last time. I found temporary relief when I was eating cold fruit (think it was the combo of the coldness and the sugar)...so I ate alot of watermelon last time. But for the big guns I had to take zofran, which is medication they give chemo patients to help with the vomitting. So if any of you ladies end of getting it really bad, it is a life saver. Unfortunately it is quite expensive...but worth it if you need to keep some food down!! I remember being really scared to take it, but eventually gave in. I hope none of you will need it!!

Hi all

Lisa - your last pregnancy sounded awful! I really hope that you're blessed with fewer nasty symptoms this time around.

Mev - sorry I really got the wrong end of the stick re screening. You can tell I've got DH and I have talked about screening and would most probably do it. Not sure if I'd be brave enough to go to amnio stage though. I have worked with both severely physically and mentally impaired children and adults and have witnessed the huge strain it can put on families.

Rio - thank you SO much for sticking around. You are my saviour :) I'm rubbing my belly like it's a budda! It'll be shiny soon.

PA-FA - I'm a bit of a twilight fan. I think it's just 'oogle' factor on my part but hey, why not?

Pep - I hope your u/s at your RE showed a good strong heartbeat. Us IVF girls are definitely a little more 'high maintenance' but justifiably so!

There's a great Australian pregnancy book called 'Up the Duff' by Kaz Cooke. It's a very funny, lighthearted look at pregnancy. Definitely worth a read if you like that style of book.

I can't deny that I'm not nervous about what my visit to the RE might bring but I think I'm mentally prepared for the worst. I feel a bit lost not having had a Beta since Monday. So no idea what those numbers are doing.

Anyway everyone, almost the weekend. Yay!

Hi Ladies! Well first of all, my ultrasound with the RE yesterday was just what I needed. OMG it is absolutely amazing what a difference there was from just one week ago. At 8 weeks the baby was all snug as a bug curled up in the fetal position. Yesterday I could see its arms and legs and it was dancing all over the place! No wonder my OB couldn't find the heartbeat...it never stops moving!! Crazy to think it is only an inch long but so developed. I'm in love :D

Tess- I hope everything goes well for you at the RE. I am praying that everything is ok. Please let us know.

lisacb- Sorry to hear your sickness is so severe. I have had 24 hour nausea but not vomiting. I too have been craving cold fruit. Another thing I cannot get enough of is green grapes dipped in peanut butter. Not sure where that came from? Next thing you know I will be eating pickles and ice cream

purple- How are you feeling? How old ar eyour twins? Do they understand that they are going to get TWO baby brothers or sisters? We have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and we have started to talk with her about it. She keeps kissing my tummy and saying "My baby brother is in your belly button!". We didn't find out what we were having the first time but this time we will so we can prepare her. She has her heart set on a boy so we need to prepare her is it's another little girl. I think she likes being the only princess in the house!

Bei- Triplets!!!! WOW!! That is so great and amazing. What a blessing. My husband's brother and his wife also have IVF triplets. They did a frozen transfer of three embryos and were given less than 0.5% chance of triplets...but it happened! They will be 1 in a week and they are just wonderful and so much fun. A lot of work for their parents but so worth it!

Pa_fa- I too am a total Twilight fan. I was so sad when I finished the last book becasue I just wanted it to keep going. So now I'm glad I have the movies to look forward to. I am going with two of my girlfriends this weekend. Do you ever watch the show called The Vampire Diaries? It's kind of like a TV version of Twilight and I love it. Probably not as good as True Bloob but we don't get premium cable so it's my only option!

Kitty- Congrats on twins! Awesome!

Mev- My DH and I were just talking about the first trimester screen last night and if we want to do it. We did it with my DD when I was pregnant with her and everything came back fine. At that point I honestly just did it to get another peek at the baby since it includes an ultrasound. This time around I am so much more anxious that I'm second guessing what to do. I asked my DH last night if we were to find something wrong do you think you would ever want to terminate and he coudln't answer. We both feel like we could never do that but on the other hand it's really not a question we can answer until we are in the situation you know? I guess I am starting to feel like if there was an increased chance of somerthing wrong it would at least give me some time to mentally prepare and plan for that. But I still don't know. The window to do the firts trimster screen is pretty small. I think it's only done between 11.5 and 14.5 weeks so I need to decide soon. I will be 10 weeks on Monday. Let me know what you decide. It's good to have someone to talk through all this with!

Well girls not much else to report. I go back to my OB on July 22 for my 12 weeks appointment. Hopefully by then my stubborn little bean will be loud and clear on the Doppler and no more scares! In the meantime I am just fighting the nausea and fatigue on a daily basis but not minding it too much since it's almost reassuring. Anyone have any plans for the 4th of July weekend? We are going shopping for a new car. Actually I am strongly considering a minivan!! Never thought I'd be a minivan mama but now that we will have two kids and we also have two dogs I think it may be time. We travel a lot since all of our family is out of town. Any recommendations?

Better get to work! Happy Thursday :)

Hello ladies

BabyRN-So glad you had an early u/s how exciting :)

Tess- So sorry for all you are going through. Thinking about you.

Kamaile-I too don't "feel" pregnant all the time. I was a bit scared atfirst especially since everyone said oh twins you'll be so sick and nothing. Not complaining my Doc said "remember it can strike at anytime" I guess I'll consider myself lucky that all I have is this extreme fatigue!

Rio-How you doing there lady? Hope your # gets to zero quickly!

PA_FA- How's your two weeks of rest treating you? Looks like you've been taking good care of yourself and the little one.

Bei-Triples...didn't see that coming I bet. Congratulations how exciting :)

Lisa-Sorry you are feeling so sick :(

Pep-Glad you got to see the little one all snuggled up. Can wait for my next u/s on the 12th.

I have nothing new to report. Go for my 1st OB appointment on the 12th :) Extremely tired but other than that feel pretty good. Occasionally I feel a bit nauseous but I eat and its gone. Not sleeping through the night due to bathroom visits.

I hope you all have a great day :)

Hi girls!!! 65!!!!!!! Down from 650 7 days ago! It is dropping like a bomb!!! Still got bad cramps and weird bleeding but I am on my way!!!!!!!!!! Wooooo-hooooo! I am just hoping my body can survive this turmoil and get in gear with a regular period. Seeing all you pregnant mommies just makes me be there even more! :D I am with Lisa though, as much as I was so grateful for my pregnancy, I was not the glamourous pregnant girl I always dreamt to be! I had Gestational Diabetes, had to poke myself with insulin all the time and go through shakes and sugar lows and all kids of weird stuff and the Down's scare. I always wanted to be the girl with the cute belly with the gorgeous black and white pics of the belly. Instead I was bloated, tooting, tired and just plain not feeling the "glow" ;) but as uncomfortable as it was (baby was breeched and I couldn't sit in the end since he was standing up almost!) I want to do it all over again, DH thinks I am insane after all he saw me go through (a nightmare of a c-sec). But that's us! Insane IVF mommies that love those babies we haven't even met! The HCG and US addicts that we are  ! The mommies that see their babies when they are only 8 cells and think they are the best looking embrios anyone has ever seen! That's us! :D No one knows what we have been through more than our IVF sororities so it is nice to hang with girls that worry about you and wish you the best and can understand how hard things are. With my ectopic, few people know and they feel bad for me, but you girls understand more than anyone how hard it is to lose a pregnancy after going through IVF (except DH, he is an angel!).

I think we should all visit Kamaile! I will go sit on a beach and you girls can get weekly US how does that sound? ;)

pep - great news!
Kitty - thanks for checking on me hun!
Lisa - hope you feel better, sorry for the MS
purple - you are too kind
Tess - shine that belly! :) I will look for your post tomorow. I am here for anything you need and don't forget you are your best advocate. Don't get pressured into anything you are not comfortable doing. If you need to take a couple of days to think, do so. If you want to wait for another beta then do that. It is your body and your baby and only you and DH can make decisions. I got tons of conflicting info so I will be more than happy to share anything with you that I learned.
PA- FA - I see your hormones are getting to you ;) addicted to true blood and the hottie!!!! :) You will enjoy that book made me laugh out loud. I recommended it, I see momnesia has settled in too ;)

Pep- Did you read the new Twilight book that came out in May? The short life of Bree Tanner. It was from the eyes of a newborn. Short book but very good.

Rio- I'm glad your numbers are coming down. Please stick with us in the May board even when you cycle again. I love your positive energy. Your idea about going to see Kamaile...I'm on board for that!!!!!!!!!!! In between u/s we'll meet you on the beach for virgin lava flows. (Very yummy cocktail!)

AFM- I went to my RE for the last time today. He just wanted more blood work to make sure everything was ok. I cried when I had to leave. UGH...I was a crier before pregnancy...now it's even worse! DH has to go to Spain tonight. When he gets back we are headed to GA for the 4th of July. Visit the inlaws for a few days. Down in the deep south...gnats and lots of heat! At least they have a pool! :D Any other fun plans?

yes everyone come for a visit!!! we could go to a luau, hang out at the beach and have virgin lava flows for sure LOL....

Pafa- have fun at your in laws but did your OB say its ok to swim in the pool? just asking cause i have a pool at my house and my OB said no swimming for me (although he is extrememly conservative, like im on 'house arrest' until my 12 week).

Rio- glad your numbers are going down, you have been sooo strong through out this whole ordeal and i really admire you for that!

I cant beleive the number of multiples we have amongst us!!!!! I too was hoping for twins but am definately happy with my one little bean....got an appointment today with OB so gonna get ready now. Hope everyone has an awesome 4th of July weekend. This island goes off with fireworks but i wont be doing any this year, just staying in the house and watching my dogs so they dont freak from the noises lol

Kamaile- hmmm...well I just assumed that floating in a pool would be ok if I can fly on a plane??? At least that was my train of thought. I guess I should call my RE tomorrow and ask. I still have not been to my OB yet. First apt with a nurse for history and such is July 9.

Hi all

Bad news for me today. My gestational sac only measured in at 4 wks 3 days even though I'm 6 weeks 4 days. There was no sign of a fetus/heartbeat. Therefore, I'm off the messaries, and have to wait to m/c which the RE is hoping will be in the next week. If not, I'll have another scan next Friday and then most likely be referred for a D & C. Have to have regular bt to make sure HCG level is dropping.

So I'm pretty gutted. I was so excited at the prospect of being a first-time Mum and know that DH will be the best Dad. Still, we've got two lovely 5d frosties just waiting to be transferred (and stick themselves to) my nice warm uterus, TMI I know, but I'm sure you ladies know what I mean.

I've spent the afternoon saturating tissues and have just been for a nice dog walk along the beach which cleared my head a bit. It's a quiet night infront of the fire tonight for me.

Trip to Hawaii - just what the doc ordered :) I'll go the non-virgin lavaflow thanks  I'll be over my blubbing by then and will try my very very best to contain the Little Green Man inside me!

So onward and upward from here hopefully.

To my IVF buddies - thank you so much for your kind words of support. You have been truly amazing. I'll still be keeping an eye on what you're all up to and will certainly keep you posted as to what is happening with me.

Tess - I am so sorry hun. I know exactly how you feel after being in such a rollercoaster and having so much hope to have your dream shattered. I wish I could give you a big hug. What worked for me was going home one day and just really balling my eyes out alone. I strangely felt much better later and felt like I let all of my anger and sadness out. Every time I get sad, I try to concentrate on my next cycle. I have been doing so much research on clinics and things that it keeps my mind occupied and looking forward to it. Your miracle will happen. This was your first try and while some of us get lucky on the first, most don't. The great news is that you CAN get pregnant! You did! So your body knows what to do and my Doc said once you get pregnant, it is easier to get pregnant again! So the bright side is that this little angel you had is going to help your little baby along! You know your pregnancy is in your uterus and not your tube so the methotraxate shot is most indicated for ectopic, you can wait or do a gentle D&C. Take the time to grieve, doesn't matter what people say that it was not viable bla bla, it is your body and you lost a pregnancy so you have the right to feel however you want! You got two beautiful frosties to get ready for! You will be a Mum and DH will be a dad! If you need anything at all PM me. I hope you can check in and stay around. I thought I could not in the beginning and thought of dropping out, it is not easy not being too jealous of the lucky mommas (jealous in a good way, not in a bad mean way!). But tried to get over it and I found that it gives me hope and also support since no one can relate more than our IVF sisters!

Virgin lava flows?
Image
Heck! Tess and I are not having any virgin anything, our plan is to drink the hard stuff on a warm sunny beach and then you lovely sober mommas can help us find our way back to the hotel pool ;) How is that for a plan?

PA-FA - Thanks for the kind invitation to stick around and give you the amazing news of a BFP on my next cycle! :) Pool should be ok, my OB said hot tub ok too we kept it at 98F. Some REs are more conservative. Is your DH in the same business as you? Pregnancy makes you a cry baby! ;)

Tess- I'm so sorry for your loss. Like Rio says...you body knows what it's like to be pregnant now so hopefully it will be easier next time. I know that really doesn't help with losing the baby that you have and wanted now but I really believe that positive thinking helps.

Rio- Yes DH is in the same business. He's a pilot. OK laugh....let the pilot/flight attendant hook up jokes begin. There really are soooooooooooo many that hook up at my job. Whether it is short term or long term...it's just easier having a partner that truly understands your job and being gone. It will be hard with a baby and not much together family time but I can go part time and take leaves and such. So that's nice.

Kamaile- I may try to get a Honolulu flight during the 2nd trimester when I'm not so darned tired. They are really hard to get though so it may be a bit tricky. Have you heard of Giovanni's Shrimp Shack? The white truck? I'm completely addicted! As for sex...since I was spotting on my last flight 2 weeks ago my RE said no sex until the end of the first trimester. I guess we will see what my OB says. I really don't even want to. I always feel just a bit crampy and like there is a bit of pressure in my uterus. Sex is the last thing on my mind. Sleep and food come way before that! ;) Anyone else feel that way?

AFM- Waiting for DH to come home from Spain. He let me know that he found my favorite wine and bought 5 bottles. HMMM great. I'll just stare at it for the next 7 months and drool. Great. LOL We are off to the deep south of GA tomorrow for a week with the inlaws and the gnats. Oh and the brats...my DH sister will be there with her 3 monsters and one monster is bringing a friend. OH lord remind me to pack ear plugs. :) Have a Happy 4th of July ladies!!!!!
