Rash on Synarel?

Post by kizmet »

I've been taking Synarel since 25 April, and have had no real side effects - maybe just feeling a little hotter than usual but not excessively (not to the point of hot flushes or being sweaty). But about 4 days ago I developed a rash in one armpit where the top layer of skin seems really delicate and is coming away. Didn't bother me too much as it was only one tiny patch though it was a little painful but now the patch in my armpit is quite big (and this might be TMI) and it has moved to my groin! I started Puregon last night. Is this likely to be an effect of the synarel or something else? The IVF clinic doesn't open for a couple of hours so I thought someone might have an idea here?

OK, crisis over. Nothing to do with the synarel, as I really expected, but I do think I have shingles. GREAT. NOT. :( :( :(

I have had shingles twice before and you need to be put on an antiviral ASAP. It will help prevent PHN (post-herpetic neuralgia) in the future. Strangely enough, your shingles showed up in odd places, it usually shows up on the back, sides, and in some cases on the face. But, I wish you good luck!

Hi Angela,

I've been to the DR and she thinks it is just a stres related heat rash. Quite a relief I can tell you!

Cheers
