Kizmet - Sorry I am just a lurker but I had to respond to your post. I don't know what you Dr. is thinking. Most RE's won't let a patient take the trigger shot if the E2 level is over 5000, actually I think some RE's even have a lower threshold. 8000 is way too high and your RE should have know you were more susceptible to getting OHSS. I would be questioning your Re and make sure that if you do another fresh cycle that they monitor you closely. I have never gotten OHSS but from what I hear it is no fun. Did they do a transfer or did they freeze your embies? Wish you the best of luck in the future.

Hi Chris,

Hmmm, I wonder if the units they are looking at E2 in Australia are different from US or where ever you are from? Dr. said that he was suprised about the OHSS because they don't stop the trigger unless the E2 is over 25,000 and will do ER if over 18,000 but will not do the transfer.

Definitely no fun with OHSS - was ready to die at one point there after throwing up the contents, not of my stomach, but of my intestines for 12 hours. I should try and download the photos off my phone of my VERY swollen belly to share given that I looked 9 months pregnant and even suggested I'd get stretch marks not from having a baby but by simply trying to get pregnant!

I didn't end up going to transfer. I actually told them I wouldn't do it. Long story cut short here but the FS I was seeing went on holidays the week before my ER (not that I was told this) and I turned up for ER to find out that a complete stranger was doing it. Then when I started getting OHSS symptoms after the ER, there was no answer from the clinic as the FS hadn't diverted his phone whilst overseas, so instead of getting any help from them, I had to go through the local hospital emergency for help - and they had NO idea what was wrong and I had to tell THEM! Was sent home the next day only to get re-admitted and into ICU the day after that. So the clinic rang my phone whilst I was in ICU and DH said that he wouldn't let me do the transfer because I was too sick. Clinic said that it shouldn't be a problem, it would be fine. So I had to ring from ICU and tell them again how sick I was and that I wasn't physically able to go through with it. Spent the next 4 nights in hospital because docs kept making mistakes that only made me sicker with a FS from my clinic only turning up to see me the day before I left. You can't imagine how upset and annoyed I was. I've got 2 frozen embies with them and if FET fails, I'll be off somewhere else (still going to try FET with this clinic because, despite the trouble I have had with them, they are still considered to be the best clinic in the state I live in and my only other options are several hours drive away).

Cheers
Kiz

Kiz - yes I guess the measurements are different from the US then Australia. Didn't think of that when I posted. Gosh what a horror story. You were right not not totransfer. If they would have implanted then it would have made the OHSS even worse. Glad you have 2 snowbabies. Hoping they are sticky ones. The good thing is a FET is so much easier on the body then a fresh cycle. Good Luck to you.

HI Girls,

I believe I will be joining you this summer. I did get a BFP from my last cycle but ended up miscarrying at 12 weeks. It was awful. Right now I'm waiting for AF and then will get my calendar. I'm doing a fresh IVF cycle. I'm still decompressing from my miscarriage. So I'm sure I'll be more active here once I start BCP's. I just wanted to say "hi" to everyone here I've cycled with before. Here we go again.... Chris, Franny, Dodo, DandMe, and others!
Much love,
XOXO

Hi Ladies,

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful week! I did another HPT on Monday and it was BFN. :( I have been having my own personal pity party all week. I opted not to do the beta. Now I am waiting for AF so that I can get started on my next cycle. Yesterday my neighbor asked how things were going on ttc and I said they're okay. Then she says, 'At least it's fun trying'. I thought....last time I checked "fun" trying to get pregnant for most people doesn't include: other people in the room when trying to conceive, meds, needles, patches, suppositories, blood tests, acupuncture, your RE seeing your vijay-jay more than your husband and whole helluva lot of money! If she only knew.

So I am ready to get on with my next cycle. Although I was disappointed...I refuse to give up. I will keep trying. Maybe the next cycle will be the ONE for ALL of us! :) :) :)

Lou- I am so very sorry about your m/c. I was so happy when I learned you got a BFP and I can only imagine how this must feel. Take all the time you need to "decompress" and we will be here waiting for you when you are ready. Love and prayers to you and your DH!

Karin- I'm sorry for your BFN. I know how you feel about your neighbor thinking its all fun and games. My nurse actually made a joke that I should use protection while I'm on both BCP and antibiotics so I dont get pregnant. I'm glad she thinks this is all so much fun but I was a little irritated. Sure dont get pregnant on your own because then we cant get the thousands of dollars that this costs from you. Anyway, I'm glad you are ready to jump right back into "the game". Lots of baby dust to you for next cycle.

AFM- Still taking my BCP and antibiotics and waiting, waiting, waiting. Best wishes to everyone!

Teresa - Speaking of BCP, My D and C was May 26. RE said I could start my next IVF as early as my next AF. I told him I was going to wait til end of august to start. He said to call on 1st day of AF to schedule the test with the water/ultrasound so he could check that I fully healed. I have heard that after D&C some women get pregnant on their own. I was contemplating doing my next cycle end of July or end of August, but also thinking maybe in the next two months it would happen on its own. Anyway AF came on Friday so I called. The nurse told me to start BCP, as I always have for my cycles. I told her I did not need it since I was going to wait a couple of months. She said I had to because that's the protacol my RE has for me. Then she said I needed to be on it for the test anyway. I am not sure that that is true, because I had this test last year. It just has to be done on day 5 to 9 of cycle. I started it anyway since I wanted AF gone, and I am going away July 16 which is 28 days from start of AF, so I figured why not. But now I am wondering if this pill protacol is so we don't get pregnant on our own causing them to lose thousands?

Hey girls....ugh, I am having a hard time checking the boards. They are monitoring computer use at work and when I get home, I have so much stuff to do its crazy! Plus my DS is goin through major seperation anxiety and is now scared of the dark....so I am sleeping very little. At this point, I sleep when I can which means I log on very seldom.

Kiz~ I am so sorry to hear about your ordeal. But I agree, you did the right thing with not transferring. I really hope FET works for you so you never have to face even the slight chance that would ever happen again. I can only imagine. After my last harvest I had OHSS and was in pain for a week...but that was nothing compared to what you went through. I so feel for you.

Lou~ I am sorry as well for the M/c. I too mc last cycle. Its so hard....After my last cycle, dh and I decided to take a few months off to decomrpess. I am so glad we did, as we are approaching this with a different attitude this time.

Karin~ sorry about the BFN. Good luck with your IVF cycle. Do you know what protocol you will be doing?

Dodo~ I am so sorry hun for the anxiety. I hope DH and your dog are ok. IVF is so hard....stressful in itself nevermind all the other external stressors...You said you are on Zoloft...forgive my ignorance but can you be on that while cycling? I have considered going on something. While DH and I have good attitudes about IVF, things with work and my folks are stressful and get me down quite a bit.

AFM, baby in a box arrive yesterday....here we go. supression is 7/13/10. I expect ER and ET around the week of 7/23 ish....Not much else to report....wait wait wait....Oh I know....I have to start lupron 7/2/10. I am planning on heading camping....once the vial is pierced it has to be refrigerated right?

Lou - so sorry you endured more sadness. I know it's never easy to keep going. I will be pulling for you big time. I can't wait to see your BFP!

Miyaya - great to see you - best of luck, kiddo!!

Katie - I've thought of you during my time away to heal and am so happy that you are doing well! What an amazing story you will have to tell your daughter. I hope you keep dropping in so we can 'rub your belly' for luck!

Sorry for not doing more personals, I keep getting bumped from the site and losing what I've typed, but to all my ivf hopefuls, I truly hope all your tests are positive and that it's finally our turn.

AFM We thawed four frosties and three survived - two of them were already plumping up nicely. The clinic said they did not grade them, as they never look as good post thaw, and took time to regenerate. They said they looked good and that all went well. I sure don't feel any different except for a sore back which might be from laying and sitting on my rear for three days.

So officially PUPO for the second time this year... wish me luck!
