I also had 3 days bedrest, but on my 2nd FET had a wedding to attend, and my doc said was no problem to go, he said that i could even dance!!!took the plane everything!!! but this time he told me to rest!!! doesn t make anysense. I also don t have any sexual intercourse since the transfer, and i am still scares to, as i don t know what to believe anymore. I called my doc yesterday and he said that as far as i am not spotting is safe to have sex!! i also ask if it was safe to fly on the 1st trimester and he gave me the ok. What do you ladies think? i just don t want to mess up everything!! just want to make sure that all our clinics agree on this!!

kizmet, i feel the same way, i just read that you can eat everything only not what is roar(meat, fish and egg). i am craving for mayonnaise but can t have it!!! you said you felt obssed with the poas, but i feel like i am the maniac here, had 14 done so far. how crazy am i? i guess from now on, we ll never stop stressing!!!but we really should not!! we need to enjoy it at the most. Nothing would change what is suppose to be!!!

AFM, starting to feel more changes in my body, for the 1st time so far i feel tenderness in my breast and my nausea got a bit worser, didn t through up yet( i wish i do, that would really make it feel real)

Hi Ladies

Hee hee - lovely to see you mama to be-s doing all the mama to be things!! It's my turn I bet that morning sickness and nausea feels quite good right now - whilst its a novelty.Kizmet - I second you in the philosophy (endorsed by the clinic) that normality is the diagnosis of the day - they pretty much say you can do what ever you want and feels normal and that you manage it in such a way you feel comfortable. Of course after my BFN I couldn't help but wonder if it was my stint at scrubbing the bedroom floors (nice!) that had put stress on bean, and I never worried about what I picked up etc - so did I make a difference (in a not good way). But what will be will be. I hope your both really enjoying in the midst of all the new emotion that comes with it - the wonderful feeling of this dream now firmly being in your sights as a wonderful reality and thinking about little bean growing! In a few weeks there's already a hearbeat - isn't that amazing!

Blair, Kywildcat and Jersey - looking forward to seeing your results. Hope the 2ww goes peacefully for you!

Melmar - ha ha - I think I had that same moment of well if I ain't pregnant I'm gonna be (crazy control freak) and kick ass thin and fit .. so HA! Take THAT! (determined brows and clenched fists) . . . and then marched into the kitchen and hoovered everything going with a high sugar and non nutrition content

Like melmar - going to be checking in and listening. I feel a bit like I've been spit out the end of the whole IVF/pregnancy bottle and am back in that weird place .... called normal life with work tedium and the rest without the constant adrenalin and anxiety of whats happening/not happening in the 2ww build up. Am now calm and not in total intense fantasy land that alien embryo implanted on day 15 and might still be viable. Ahem - although am getting a confirmation beta tomorrow to make sure all traces gone. Also given my wonderful blessed angel Maia lots of big hugs, she's been our truly blessed rock - and a pretty funny amazing heart warming little rock at that. Thankful for my life, my health, my family blah blah. Early days - but I think we are going to try and give this one more try - after christmas. Gives DH time to stop smoking and me time to work on the garage sale/cake bake/ bank robbery/embezzelement plan. . . .

melo- I really wouldnt worry about what you did or didnt do that could have or may not have had any effect on the way things happened. Since some clinics dont recommend any rest, or any abnormal activity outside of daily life I dont know that it would have changed things. I always have to tell myself that most normal people dont do anything different when they get pregnant so it cant have much to do with it. With all that being said I think its great that you are such a strong person. Getting back to normal life is a good thing and will help with the next cycle. Even though everyone may not be doing the same thing anyone I hope you know you are still more than welcome here and I hope you keep us updated on how things are going with you.

itsmyturn- How did you make it through your 3 days of bedrest. I feel like this time is actually worse than the 3 days with the last cycle. As for sex we were just told to wait 1 week after the transfer. The RE actually made me laugh when he said they didnt want any competition in there- like somehow after all this DH would be able to get me pregnant without any help. I think this depends on your comfort level. I have a friend who waited until she was 6+mths pregnant before they had sex after the transfer. I dont know how but I guess its just what she was comfortable with. As for the flying- I have heard flying is fine all the way up until teh 3rd trimester, so I wouldnt worry about that if I were you. Excting that you are starting to feel the changes for the 1st time. Ive always said that after all this infertility I would actually be happy with morning sickness.

kizmet- Since you got a BFP obviously these rules dont necessarily apply in every situation. I have even gone as far to limit bathroom trips, and avoid sneezing just in case somehow i end up pushing bean out. Crazy I know but I guess I will do anything to make this work. As for that website- Those onesies and bibs are too cute. I told DH we may have to order one at some point.

jersey- How are things going with you? I am getting anxious for your beta.

AFM- Same stuff different day. Hoping I can come up with lots of work to do from home so I stay busy all day. DH is on call so its just me all day and night....hopefully he will be home by bedtime.

Glad to see that everyone is doing well and seems to making it through whatever stage they are at.

Blair-I found it very difficult this time to rest...just was bored to death and wanted to be and about. All I can say-is enjoy the time-how often do you get an excuse to just lie around in bed eating bon bons :)

Jane-how are you hanging in there girl? You have to go back to work next week?? I only go in for tennis season to start. My first offical day of classes is the 13th with a conference day on the 7th. So I will be in next week, but only for a couple of hours of coaching and then some photo copy time. Really don't want this summer to end. Usually I am so ready to go back, but I really enjoyed this summer-it was just beautiful out!

ItsMyTurn and Kizmet-just remember if you do get morning sickness there are pills you can take to cut the edge off. With both of my pregnancies mine was so bad that even with the pills I lost 15 lbs with the first and 20 with the 2nd-carrying triplets was far worse morning sickness than with my singleton...I took every sick day I had at work-and many times had to run out of my classroom to go to the bathroom-it was the worst feeling I have ever had! So remember to ask for the pills-nobody should have to go through that feeling!

Melo-how are you doing?? I think about you often and how you are getting through. I am always glad to see one of your posts on here.

AFM-started running again and got AF. Finally starting to feel like my old self again and am not so depressed anymore. I see my re next week and don't know if I will even keep that appointment. I just don't want to feel like I am okay and then get myself back in this place again...so we will see.

Hey girls,
I thought I posted last night but guess I forgot to hit submit!
Blair, ky and jersey: Hope you are all doing well in 2ww, sending lots of baby dust to you all
Melmar: Glad to hear you are doing better and I'm with you on the fitness craze, if I get a BFN I plan to do the same thing
Kizmet: Hope things are going great for you. I remember all the same worries with DD if I was doing things right. I had the pleasure of having my work place sprayed with pesticides during my pregnancy! I'm so happy for you.
Melo: So happy to hear you are in a better place now. I'm with you on staying on a steady course because its hard not feel so down about it. Your little girl is absolutely beautiful.

AFM: Making myself a little nuts with POAS yesterday had a very faint line but today not. I couldn't sleep last night running everything through my head and worrying about how DH will be if it's BFN. With DD I had a BFP after 10d so I need to be more patient. Not so happy to be back at work with all the complaining teachers in a hot small room standing all day but things will get better. Trying to tell myself that it will be okay if things didn't work out this time and remembering we are so lucky to have a beautiful son and daughter. Hugs to you all.

Melo - I am so glad you are going to try again. You sound so much better.

Melmar - As a runner I say kudos to you. There is something about running that just clears your mind and makes you feel alive. This summer I have been running in the morning but once school starts I run at night after I put DD to bed. I had asked my doctor if I had to stop running if I get pregnant and he told me no that I could do anything that I did before I got pregnant. When I was pregnant with my daughter I had bad OHSS so I wasn't allowed to exercise or have sex for the whole first trimester. Fun right? I am jealous that you don't have to go back til the 13th, what state do you teach in? (Not sure if you told me already).

Kizmet - Great website. Do you have an ultrasound scheduled yet? How did your DH handle the news, is he over the moon?

Itsmyturn - Sorry about the morning sickness. I am lucky because I haven't had any morning sickness, not with DD or the 2 other pregnancies. I have had friends tell me that ginger ale (obviously not diet) and saltines help and to keep saltines by your bed so before you get up you can munch on a few to help your belly.

Blair - I can't imagine 3 days in bed. My clinic says to rest only the day of the transfer and that was hard enough for me. Today is the last day right?

Yarnista - I think you should wait til Saturday to test again. Your beta is Monday right?

AFM - Very busy today, not only am I watching my daughter but I am also watching my 1 year old niece today til 6:30 this evening. I am getting a taste of what it is like having 2 around and boy it's not easy. You really can't sit, not even for a minute at least when they are that close in age. I have been feeling like AF is coming all day, no spotting or anything just that heavy feeling in my abdomen. I don't know if that's good or bad. Like I said before I am not one of those people who feel symptoms during the 2ww. With all my pregnancies I never had a clue til beta day (other than the OHSS getting worse). I think I may wait til Saturday to POAS again, but who am I kidding I'll probably do it tomorrow because the suspense is killing me.

Jerseyjane: I had to smile when I just read your post I have the same feelings exactly. I'll probably be up at 5am to POAS again. You had OHSS just like I did too, it was so miserable! My son leaves for football camp in the morning and I have one more day of prof. development to get through, haha. I definitely will take the kids any day over all the bickering, whining of the teacher.
Does anyone here have advice about the PIO sites? Mine are getting progressively worse and very itchy. I wish I could take a bath think that would help alot.

Yarnista- when are you going to start testing? I forgot when everyones betas are but I know they are coming up sooner than later. Can't wait to hear good news from you all.

Jersey- I actually have 1 more day. The days are long and pretty boring. Part of what stinks is we have had the best weather of the summer the past 2 nights and I've been stuck in the house. Hopefully DH will let me out of the house this weekend. How are you feeling? I know you mentioned that you felt like AF was near but maybe its just early pregnancy signs.

Itsmyturn- how are you feeling?

Sorry guys, busy this morning, so just a quick one. I was thoroughly excited last night when the "pregnancy package" turned up from my clinic yesterday. It was a letter saying "congrats" and a booklet and a few US and BT slips. It said the first US should be booked for 6 - 6.5weeks, so I was really excited. It didn't say if I should make the booking or if they do, so I rang this morning and they said, Oh no, you've got to make that yourself and not until 7.5 weeks. In totally irrational style I burst into tears and told them that that's not fair and they should change their letter. I'm such a drama queen. I've got an appointment for 9.30am 15 Sept. So after yesterday feeling back to normal, today I'm back on the nut case bus. I'll post personals later!

Got a minute to do personals now:

Yarnista and Jersey Jane - I didn't know you guys ended up with OHSS in previous cycles. Very sorry to hear that, but since I did too, lets hope that this is a lucky round for all of us that have been through that little pleasant experience!

JerseyJane - DH was kind of like "I told you so" when we got the positive POASs and beta. I know it's silly but I get upset that he might not be as excited as I am because he's had kids before and knows what hard work it is going to be and he's been through the whole excitement of pregnancy with his first wife. I also know that he's not as excitable as I am anyway, so he's not going to be bugging out trying not to tell everybody like I am.

Blair - I think you're 3 days of enforced couch potatoing is over is it not? Hopefully it hasn't sent you too mad!

Melo - Great to hear you're feeling a bit brighter. Keep us up to date on any further plans wont you? I've been thinking of you.

Melmar - Sounds like you've got a plan - exercise can be such an awesome outlet can't it? Thanks for the tips re: morning sickness. Hopefully I won't get it, but who knows! I certainly feel fine at the moment, but it's such early days isn't it?

Yarnista - STOP POASing!!!! That's not only going to cost you a fortune, but it's only a short wait now!

Kizmet - I love what you just posted to Yarnista because I am listening as well. I couldn't even sleep anymore so at4:30 I jump out of bed and rush to the bathroom. It was weighing on my mind all night. I POAS again and it was negative however if you hold it to the light there is like a faint almost invisible but ever so faint 2nd line, but if you look at it flat on the table no line. I can't take this anymore. Before this FET I had never POAS before my beta and now I know why... because it sucks. It literally sucks the life out of you. I am 8 days past transfer and that is it. I am done with HPT's. My beta is Tuesday and what will be will be. I can't change anything so what does it matter knowing a few days earlier. As I have said befoe I didn't have much faith in FET's at least for myself, obviously yourself and itsmyturn are proof that they do work but for me I have always been successful with fresh. So I declare no more POAS for me! Oh, I almost forgot how exciting to get a pregnancy package. You must be so thrilled and you deserve it.

AFM - I feel kind of let down because of those evil HPT's but you know I am a realist and I really didn't have much faith in that process. I think I got bummed out when I checked the SART website and found my clinic's statistics for FET's. There success rate with fresh embroyos is pretty high but they report doing on average 13 FET's a month and of those only 1 results in a live birth. Not such great chances. It did make me open my eyes. I get one more cycle as far as insurance goes and my husband is pushing me to change RE's and go with the one who is rated the best in NJ. There frozen transfers resulting in live births are 49/100. Much better odds, also much bigger clinic with several offices in various locations around the state. The pros= it would be a new start with a clinic who must have better lab facilities and definitely have better success rates. The cons= I would have to travel a bit out of my way to get to work from the clinic, and since I would be a new patient I would probably have to wait a while for an appointment, then go through a bunch of initial testing before I can even begin to cycle so my hopes of being done with IVF after this fall are probably out the window. I probably wouldn't get to do anything til November-December, but I'm just guessing. Anyway, Tuesday is a few more days and then I guess I have a big decision ahead of me.

jersey- 8 days is still too early to start testing. Dont let the results get you down. I dont see how youve never tested before your beta until this time, but you are a strong person. Your beta isnt too far away now, and luckily the weekend will go by faster for you. Keep your faith in FET...you never know what will happen this cycle. As for your clinic, if you arent happy with the way that things have been happening then I would switch to the other clinic too. 49 out of 100 are pretty good results and would be worth the longer commute. If its your last cycle that insurance covers you might as welll make your chances as good as they can be. But since you still dont know that this one didnt work stay positive and keep your head up!

Kizmet- the 3 days ends today around 1:30p!!!! DH (who was the overly anal one) said I could get up and get my own lunch and shower today! I personally felt like I probably could have started moving around sooner but he wanted me to obey the rules and stay in bed. Anyway- its exciting that you got the pregnancy packet. And the flood of emotions when they changed their mind on the US appt is just the start of all the emotions involved with pregnancy!

yarnista- How are you doing? I saw your comment about the PIO injections. Today only makes 1 week of shots but I am already sore with knots too. I have just been using the area behind my hips because thats where they recommended. When I mentioned doing the shots in the thighs they said its not as effective so I should stick with hips. Even though they are letting me use the smaller needles, still painful. Have you tried the heating pad after the shots?

itsmyturn- Feeling any better?

AFM- Day 3 working from bed. DH said if I wanted we could go out for pizza tonight instead of ordering in. Its sad that I am so excited to leave the house. Other than that nothing different. When does the blastocyst actually implant? Every time I feel a twinge I think it could be it...but never know.

I know I must sound like I am going nuts and I don't want to get my hopes up but like 40 minutes after I tested this morning I was cleaning the kitchen and taking the garbage bag out of the pail and I looked at the test again and you can definitely see a second line but it is much lighter than the control line. To make sure I wasn't seeing things I asked my mother who was coming over this to watch DD and she sees it too. I don't want to get too happy yet. So for now I will be cautiously optimistic and still I will wait til Tuesday. I do feel alot better though.

Blair - I copied this for you. Here is what happens after a 3 and 5 (blastocyst) transfer. Hope this is helpful.

This is what happens in a 3dt :

1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on
HPT

Blair, i went through the 3 days bedrest with a nice soap opera, enjoyed been taken care of by dh, all my meals in bed. I really enjoyed it actualy. Thanks for the flying tip. The thing is i am a french girl living in spain and i have a 30th birthday to attend in france the 11th of september and gonna use this opportunity to tell my family.

melop, so glad you are giving it another try. With this positive attitude you can only win. Enjoy your break!

melmar, today my nauseas were better than yesterday and this is stressing me out. I am so focus on feeling pregnant, that i find a lot of confort when i have nausea. It just remind me that something is happening for real as i don t realise it yet. This is my first one! i might reask you the name ofthose pills when i ll get fed up of it.
I am so please to hear you are feeling better and running. This is also what i use to do to keep fit and clear my mind. Good luck with your appointement next week.

yarnista, if you had a faint line yesterday take it as a positive. It just might be too early, remember last week when my lines were going lighter and got all paranoid. The trick is, don t drink any fluid all night, empty your bladder before you go to sleep and test the next morning. When i did, the line went so much darker!!

Kizmet, i absolutely understand you. It s already killing me so bad this wait before my 1st u/s(6 of september) can t take my mind out of it. I also want a pregnancy package!!! it sounds so good, and i have absolutely no idea about my futur schedules. I have been looking for a new ob when re released me and found one in a private clinic very intimate, that my insurance is covering!!

jerseyjane, wow, how exciting is that!! can t wait for the good news!!i thing you are so strong to wait till beta!!
