hi kynlee, starwishes, and welcome jbird!

kynlee- you have ET on friday?! that's awesome.. so sorry you had to endure a yucky stitch procedure.. well it's all for the greater cause and there's no better reward than holding a precious baby in your arms knowing that he/she is yours <3

and jbird- i have my fingers crossed for you for BFP on wednesday! and don't worry about being a negative nancy- i say like shrek 'it's better out than in'...thisis the place to vent out those poisonous, awful, pessimistic thoughts- cause they haunt us all much of the time anyways. so why not purge them with women who get it? that' s what i figure anyways.. and i remember that feeling of 'needing ' to prepare myself for the worst.. as i hadn't done that my first ivf- i was totally unprepared to get cancelled early. it hit me like a ton of bricks. i think being 'realistic' is important, and then other times we are positve and hopeful. and other times we're just sad. given what we're going /gone through. it's normal.

afm. i transferred 2 frosties last thursday. have beta nov 10. i'm not a nervous wreck this time . although i want this very very badly. i also have a son already. and since the transfer when i look at him and think of getting a bfn...i'm sad but ok. he's my world and i'm the luckiest person on earth to have him. i could easily devote my life to being the best mom ever to him and be ok with the rest. makes me want to cry right now just saying that. similar to what you said jbird- situations make us evaluate things.. before all the pregnant people (that yes, i hated with a passion) reminded me of how bad i wanted to be a mom.. and now- the thought of fet/ future ivf cycles not working- reminds me of how i already got one miracle...who am i to expect more?

much love to you all

Karen... I am so excited for Friday and this time I willbe on bed rest for 3 days... ( i am doing absolutely nothing , lol) i am thinking positve but I still have the doubt in the back but this will help so I dont get super emotional if I get another BFN.... All I can do is pray and stay focused, the rest is up to God... :) I cant remember was your 1st child from IVF? i believe you said yeah but just wanted to reconfirm... :) I havent even gotten pregnant yet and i am already thinking of siblings for my first baby... lol Say lots of prayers for me that this FET works, with the Dr not giving me that hopefulness it worries me...

Thank you for the kind words, ladies! I agree - this forum has helped so much, because I don't have anyone to talk to (out of my friends) who has gone through this. Going for my test tomorrow... YIKES! I was kind of crampy and have been the past few days, here and there... we'll see.

I have a question that I've been meaning to ask but always manage to forget - the whole bed-rest thing - does anyone have a doctor that strongly recommends it? My doctor just kept saying to "use good judgment," for the first day or two.

Also, this may be a stranger question, but has anyone who has gotten a BFN after IVF or FET ever received a follow-up call from her doctor? Maybe I was expecting too much, but after the 1st failed attempt, I kind of thought it would have been nice for the office to call to see how we were doing, share some words of encouragement, etc... I'm kind of starting to feel like I'm part of a cattle-run or something. I really like my doctor, but wondering if other places make you feel more connected, especially after women go through this multiple times... I don't know.

Thanks again ladies! :)

hey jbird.. no my doc's have specifically said only to 'take it easy' 'don't exert yourself' , and that's good enough. they also described an ET like 'sticking flecks of dust onto a peanut butter sandwich'....if the embies are meant to grow- they're gonna grow.

they also know that we question EVERYTHING to death..so they say 'don't do anything that you'll blame yourself for getting a BFN for'.. and frankly, with me, that's good advice. so if you wont' feel good about it unless you do bedrest- do bedrest.

as for the clinic following up...lol...i've always phoned THEM obsessively...basically not giving them a chance to do it first. so i wouldn't know. :)

kynlee - I"M SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!! friday is gonna be an awesome day, i can just feel it :D

and yes, my son is from IVF...our clinic considers him a REAL miracle, we totally defied the odds .. they recommended early on that we 'don't waste our money on my eggs- use donor eggs'.... ugh. that hit my heart hard. but i persevered and my DH supported it all the way...and our boy is all ours.

enjoy your bedrest and i am definately saying prayers for you

Hi everyone,
I thought I would post something...been lingering on this site for a week now. I have my beta from my FET friday, they transfered 3 blastocysts. THis is my 3rd fet and I have had 4 fresh IVF cycles and none of them have ever had a positive beta. I am 32 and my DH is 34. We are both healthy and have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility and have seen three different RE's. I thought I would just wish everyone luck!

Hi ladies,

Just been checking up on you all. Kynlee- you must be sooo excited about tomorrow. I am praying for a BFP for you. It's excellent you have been resting- hang in there - just another day to go!

Karen- you must be getting excited for your beta soon. this 2ww can be so stressful but try and enjoy it!

Eyes- welcome to the FET ladies. I have actually decided to stop doing any more IVF treatment, but I am still checking in to see how these wonderful ladies are doing. I am like you - we have had that 'unexplained infertility' diagnosis. It's so frustrating though, because you're left wondering why it can't happen to you! Anyway hang in there and best of luck with your FET.

lots of baby dust to you all!

Ladies - I received a positive Beta yesterday... I think I am still in shock!! Numbers were 62, E was over 500 and P was 8. Not sure what any of this means, but I'm hoping good things! Next blood test is tomorrow - fingers crossed! I cannot believe we got this far with only one frostie...

Hi Ladies... :)

Starwwishes- Thank you so uch for checking in, it means alot... I know you arent doing ivf anymore so it is really nice that you are still supporting us... Have you looked into vitamins for infertility??? Maybe since you arent going to do ivf anymore its worth a shot trying natural things... Do you have a health store near you??? sometimes they have remedies, you never know... I will still keep you in my thoughts and prayers :)

Jbird- My Dr only told me to take it easy after ET, I ended up taking one day off but only went to work and then home, ended up with a BFn but Im sure it wasnt from that I just dont think it was meant that cycle for me... As for My Re calling afterwards she didnt, but when she saw me for the 1st time, she was very caring.. I think they are just so crazy busy that they dont have the time that we wished they did.... :) Congrats on the Beta :) So happy for you!

Karen- So glad that you have a positive story to share, someday I hope to too... :) Dumb question but I keep seeing it posted what is DHEA ( I know I will feel dumb after you say it, but some of the abbrev. I still dont know :) )

Eyes-Welcome :) this is a great board... ;) great support team :)

AFM- Super excited my BIG ET day is tomorrow.. As of today they were thawing great!!! please say lots of prayers.. :)

hey kynlee...don't feel dumb about not knowing DHEA,...it's not an IF abbrev.. it's a steroid/naturopathic supplement.. i know- steroid and naturopathic don't seem to go together, but you get it in the health food stores. it's true name is very long/complex.

it's known in naturopathy as a 'fountain of youth'. but it's definately a steroid. androgen i think. some clinics are using it, others are still researching it for IF, but preliminary studies show it helps woman with DOR -diminished ovarian reserve, otherwise called high FSH (follicle stim hormone). when our eggs are running low, our FSH number goes up as our bodies aren't using it so it floats in our blood stream more. DHEA can help egg quality and quantity.

if you want to research it i'd suggest googling NY center for human reproduction - that's the IF clinic where i got most of my info from. my clinic does not recommend it as there's not enough studies done... but i was desperate so i did my own research and took a chance!

Thank you! I had more bloodwork done this morning and we're anxiously awaiting results. Trying to hold myself back from being too excited because it is so, so early... I have been a hot mess the past two nights, throwing up, dizzy, migraines, the whole nine yards. I spoke with the NP this morning about it and she said it was really too early to be feeling morning sickness symptoms, especially since my numbers aren't extremely high, and maybe I just caught a bug... who knows! I will post my numbers when I get them.

Thanks again for all of the support!
