Hi Everyone,
My wife and I are trying our first ivf cycle with icsi and are going in for ER this Saturday. Or info is
Wife: 33, no factors
Husband: 33, low count & motioned
We went through all the shots and are concerned because they are only seeing 6-10 follicles developing. We are starting to feel uneasy about this first ivf cycle now and are trying our best to stay positive. Just wanted to post and say that reading these boards has been very helpful.

6 to 10 isn't necessarily bad. In fact, it's downright average for a lot of women in their 30's who do not have PCOS. Remember, all you need is one good one! In my first 3 IVF's, I've had anywhere from 6-10 eggs retrieved leading to 3-6 good embryos to choose from for transfer. I've even had frozen blasts from two of my cycles. I did conceive on my 2nd IVF but miscarried at 12 weeks... devastating. Here I am going to find out if #4 worked for us on Friday. This time was my worst cycle. 3 eggs, 2 mature, 1 fertilized and transfered on day 3. Not great odds, but I'm holding onto some hope as this is likely my last shot. No insurance for IVF. Good luck to you. At age 33, the quality should still be quite good. ICSI will help your fertilization rate too.

Thanks for all the info guys! We go in for ER tomorrow! Sperm count came back much higher this time around (8.5 mill now, 5.5 mill before). Looks like this month long vitamin regimen might have helped. Been taking multivitamin and pycnogenol as recommended by our doctor. I'll post tomorrow with update

Good luck on your first attempt. We have male factor infertility as well and we now have a 10 month old little boy! My blog has a lot of good info for first timers, you might want to check it out. (link in signature)
After 7 attempts (2 negatives/3 miscarriages), we have TWO miracle boys!! If you would like to hear our story, please visit

Just got an update from the doctor. We are on day 3 and all 8 eggs are growing. Currently, they're telling us that all 8 are grade 1 and all currently 8-10 cell. The doctor said he would be totally surprised if we did not get at least two good blastocytes out of this

. We go in for et on Thursday.

Fantastic! It really does only take one good one. I only got 3 eggs this time, 2 were mature, and only 1 fertilized and was transferred on day 3 as a high quality 8 cell embie. And I am PREGNANT!!!! Good luck to you!
