LYd, I'm totally excited for you! When will you be released to the obgyn? Promise me you'll come back and stalk us. :D

AFM: dh is off bowling with some guys from work tonight, while I just got home from the grocery store. Cooking up a chicken cassarole tonight. Spoke to my mom briefly- she thinks I should apply to Hershey's, it couldn't hurt. At least they could always pay me in chocolate. hehe reminds me when I was 14, I babysat for a family that owned Gregerson's and the wife/mother worked as a distributer for Hershey's, seriously she would bring me home a bags full of chocolate, loved her! But here's where I am so torn, dh calls me today and says the HR person came to his office today, said they made a mistake and I was never added to his insurance deduction. So starting next month, his insurance premium will go up effecting his monthly paycheck. I told dh we could always wait, I hate the idea of making us get deeper in the hole with our finances. I mean he worrys so much about having everything paid off in full, his credit card (from our last IUI), his truck loan, he's even trying to find a way to pay off the house in 15 years. I know this means we need to sit down and get our priorities in line, because realistically his goal isn't going to happen IF we are going to keep trying for a baby. I really don't want to put everything on the back burner, how does everyone handle these situations? Maybe tomorrow will shed some light on all of this, I did get a loan application for the IVF Attain Program in the mail today. I guess if we aren't approved maybe the answer will be made for us...

Hi ladies, seems like some good news today :D

Maria: fantastic news, really great. Here is to being cautiously optimistic. I know its a lo g road and you have already had one scare but im hoping from now on its all good :D

Lyd: im delighted to hear such wonderful news. Really excited to hear about your scan:

Kerpupples: hooray for the faint line :D

Lauren: im afraid I dont know anything about that protocol. Did you manage to find anything out.

Leora: penguins are so cute! Well done you for buying it. to answer your question I've decided to wait a month. So I should start taking nasal spray down regulator around feb 28/march 1 so transfer end march all going well.

Sunshine: oh thats a tough one about yourself and your dh taking/applying for second jobs. You are both such committed people. If you get a second job with hersheys will your schedules clash alot?

Blue: how are you doing today? Yesterday sounded really tough, was today any better? And how was your personal trainer? I went rebounding/trampolining this evening, tough buy I love it

Kerri: thank you so much for sharing your story and it is heart breaking. I hope your re can help and that this ivf will give you your much longed for child

Bonnie: congrats

Afm: very rough day with the suicide group. My colleague is having a rough time with our boss and its beginning to really affect stuff. An issue that should never have happened in the group did and i believe was influenced by my colleague and the boss issues. Neither thought to give me a vital piece of information regarding a group member and as a result I handled something the wrong way. Before that the group viciously attacked my colleague and didnt take too kindly to my supporting him. This often happens that the group will attach to one (me in this case) and not the other but they were just awful. I found the suicide attempt by one member before christmas less difficult than today. Its part of the role that this will happen but I was floored by their own lack of responsibility and their pure vitriol to my colleague. Im hoping we can resolve things further next week.

Other than that I did an hour of trampolining and bounced a lot of my upset out :D

Sunshine-oh hon, I wish I had the magic answer on that one. But it really is such an individual decision. It has to be one that the two of you can live with. One that once you make it, you can sleep well at night having made your decision, good or bad. I wish there was something else that I could say that would make your decision easier but there really isn't. You know, when DH and I make decisions, we always consider each other and our love for each other. We always think that in the end it really is going to be the two of us growing old together. Our decisions are always really based on those kind of simple things. Try to take it easy and don't rush to make decisions. Sending you xoxo.

Ninde-I am so sorry about the group. It's sounds like an awful situation. I know you will be able to resolve this issue with your group. I pray that it goes better the next time the group meets.

Ninde, Sounds like you had a rough day...Do treat youself to a nice long relaxing bath tonight. :D

Thanks We, I started to apply for the loan tonight but then thought dh should be here for this...as you said it's a joint decision. I would just feel better knowing we could get approved. As for dh I know he'll find a way to make this all possible, he sacrifices so much for me. xoxo Christy

Maria - Whippeeee! That's a great rise! (and crazy high numbers for 15 & 17 dpo - at 17dpo mine was 450 with twins!) What's next? Another beta or an ultrasound?

Kerri - wow. I didn't know your whole story. That's so sad about your ectopic pregnancy. I'm sorry. I'm in the same boat as you -- I have a really crappy stupid job, but I don't want to look for a better job because "what if I get pregnant" (especially for me, because I'll be on bed rest from about 18 weeks on). It's so hard to live in limbo like this -- never knowing what's going to be in the coming years...

Gina - thanks!:D There's cute baby stuff everywhere - I'm just surprised I bought something so "girly" (what if we have another boy) and in "newborn" size (what if we adopt - won't need 'newborn' size...) --- but I'm trying to stay optimistic. "Newborn" we'll need -- and if we have another boy, oh well, he'll wear a pink onsie!

Christy - my current job is 80% time - which is great for me. Things are different here (you get benefits like health care from the gov't whether or not you work, and other benefits like vacation time/pension plan are based on the percentage you work -- so I get 80% of a pension plan, etc). I'm not actively looking for another job (becuase of 'inertia' mostly) but a former collegue called about an opening she heard about. She sent in my CV a few weeks ago -- the job is for maternity leave cover. They called me yesterday and they really want me to come in for an interview. I said I couldn't switch from my long-term job to one that is only for a few months -- but we compromised on full time for the maternity leave and at least part-time after that. Sounds great to me! I have an interview this afternoon, so we'll see...

you mention Hershey - so I wonder where you live... I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, so we used to go to Hershey all the time. Maybe the next time I come to visit my mom there (don't hold your breath! I avoid P-burgh like the plague!), we can meet up somewhere? I'd love to!

I'll check out that movie - thanks for the recommendation!

I'm so sorry that the money is getting crazy. I hate that this stuff is so expensive in the USA!

Amy (kerpupples)- YAYAYAY! Can you post a picture? Then we can all obsess about a ghost line! How was your pee-stick today?

lydia - HURRAY! See - we told you there was nothing to worry about  By 6w4d you should definitely see a heartbeat - I'm so excited for you now!

Barbara- baby number 2 is looking good!

Patricia - March? great! We'll be cycling together! Can't wait -- remember, just 49 days until March 1st!

AFM - a couple of interesting developments. I haven't been actively looking for a job, because I have one, even though it's extremely boring and "below" my abilities. I'm just proud that I got myself a job and earn a paycheck. I leave my house everyday and interact with people at work. That was enough for me. But then.... a former colleague heard of something similar to what I used to be doing and sent in my CV. They called yesterday to invite me to an interview, so I'm going this afternoon. I'd rather have a more interesting job (and the commute would be better), but I'm not sure I have the "energy" now to switch jobs. We'll see. If I get offered the job, I'll cross that bridge.

As for cycling again - I mentioned that if by some miracle, my beta drops so quickly that we can do it again before we leave that I want to. I asked DH about it and he said firmly "NO". I would have the transfer immediately before we left -- so either POAS on the vacation or waiting until we got back to find out. He doesn't want that kind of pressure on our vacation. I don't want to 'waste' cycling time.... odds are we won't be able to anyways (my beta would have to drop reasonably quickly), but what would you do?

Also - as always, the discussion of how many to transfer came up again. 1 or 2. Ugh. I don't know. Of course, we want a singleton pregnancy -- but what's the best way to do that? DH says he wants 1 at a time. He'd rather have BFN cycles than twins again. I'm the other way -- twins again scare me less than more BFN cycles. I just can't think of doing many more cycles.

I came up with a 'compromise' --- we wait and see how many embryos we have. Since we'll probably want to transfer 2 with each FET (I hate having 1 frozen, and we'll never transfer 3) - we want to freeze only an even number of embryos (so we never have 1 or 3 frozen). So.... if we have an even number on transfer day, we'll transfer two and freeze the rest in pairs. If we have an odd number, we transfer one and freeze the rest in pairs. I like this idea, because I feel like it takes the pressure and the "guilt" off of *ME* making a decision. Not that I would believe it's a 'sign', but just take the decision out of my hands a little bit. If I decide to transfer 2, and we get twins again, I blame myself. If we transfer 1 at a time and have 2 failed cycles, I'll kick myself for not transferring 2 and just getting 1 failed cycle. No good answers....

WE, so your beta is great! Though, it is indeed wiser to keep clam for all the results. The IVF process and pregnancy are so unpredictable.

Kerpupples, Good job and keep us updated with your HPT results. By the way, they are very interesting information about PGD.

Sunshine, I have the “settling” issue too and feel constantly stuck in my life. A friend told me that everything will become easier to settle if you have children because they will be the centre of your life. Your choice will then become limited. Probably, it is normal that life is hard to settle and having children has the advantage to bypass this obstacle. I think that those who have to face this obstacle without any excuses could live in their life fuller if they make up their mind. I truly believe that once I can stand firmly on the ground, I can move forward. Those are things I am learning and still working on a daily basis.

Bonnieucwv, LYD, Great news! Thank you for sharing.

Happy Bunny, Great U/S picture! Thank you for sharing.

Ninde, Depression is a terrible thing that I am still fighting and hoping to be wiser not to fall in the trap.
I really think you have a tough job. I cannot imagine how you work in this circumstance every day.
I agree that trampolining is fun!

Leorira, It is hard to live in limbo so I am now pushing myself out of it. God, please give me strength for this! Good luck for the interview and I like your compromises, both for the job and for the treatment.

AFM, negative points today:
I wasted my time again and did not send any applications. I also skipped my French lesson.
I tried energy drink to stop my sleep addiction. Even before finishing the can, I got a terrible headache. Won’t try it again.
Positive points: From 50 applications I sent out, I got 14 replies. Among the replies, I got 5 automatic replies and 9 personal replies. One interview invitation for just chats. I think it is not bad for such an application.

crashing for sunshine- girl i feel for you. i have been there and had to face the bullet more than once. then dh was laid off during that stressful period. so finances was a killer and making decisions on what to do. well dh and i sat down and talked about it. then we talked with the doctors and because we had had six failed cycles, i honestly told the doctor i was a the bottom pit one can ever reach with loans over our head, 401 depleted etc. so i said i was going to do one last try regardless of what happens and i was going to live with it. big lie. like leora once said its like a moving bus you miss one and wait for the next one coz the bus is always running. i had a very had time giving up. so anyway the doc agreed to make a payment arrangement at the clinic which is unusual to do. now the meds was another problem coz my insurance dow not pay a dime for anything but thanks god for some lovely ladies here who donated some of the meds. after i was able to collect enough meds, i took the md offer of a payment plan and that was the best thing we did. now am sitting here writing this note as my bundle of joy sleeps on my lap.
i know when it comes to finances, there are no guarantees but follow you heart. You and dh need to sit down and talk over it and how far you are able to go. i know am still paying bills but i cant complains coz this baby makes me more happies. again the outcome is never guaranteed but its your peace of mind that matters most.
good luck to you and all the other ladies on this board. dont give up coz miracles do happen.

Hi ladies. I'll be back later for more personals. My PC is being updated and I don't have the patience to make very long posts from my phone.

The ghost of a ghost of a line turned into a faint line this morning. I know this is just the first hurdle, but I'm thrilled!
