Annashope, I love reading about your journey. In some way I can relate...We had started TTC in 2008, did clomid for a while with my obgyn, testing ovulation (fine) and we tried IUI with obgyn. Then that didn't work, dh researched online and found us a RE in the area. RE did all the testing on both of us, couldn't find anything wrong and since dh had inconsistant counts recommended IVF. In the meantime, I encountered an opportunity to adopt. One of my customers from the bank had a sister who was pg upon graduating and had broken up w/ her boyfriend...Well she decided to carry her baby to full-term to giving someone a chance at life. I carried her picture with me that day, the girl in her graduation gown, so pretty with long brown hair. I showed dh her picture and pleading to him let us adopt. It didn't fly with him, only to tell me he sees way too many red flags with this and said we aren't quite there yet but he would consider adoption in the future. So I took my shower that next morning with him and we talked more about adoption, I honestly couldn't let it go. Three days later that same week, I'm just one day late so took a pregnancy test reading positive on the screen...I was in complete shock but crying among disbelief at the same time. We didn't tell anyone until we got the official bloodwork back. We went in for the u/s and got to see the heartbeat flicker for the first time, heartbeat they told me was slow but told me not to worry. They scheduled me to come back in 2 weeks... Doctor reassured me that it would be fine to go on business trip to Chicago but while I was there I wasn't feeling well, remembering one night I stayed in bed and dh brought me in a salad.

We got home fine and made it to the doctor for the next appt but we were in complete earthshakering shock b/c this time they couldn't find the heartbeat. I never cried so hard in my complete life. A precious life within me had died. The baby was measuring 2 weeks behind, and I was laying on the patient bed in complete denial. Dh had to make the decision for me to go through the D&C, honestly that was the worst day of my life. Dh thought it would help us move forward and start again. But I wasn't ready to move forward, this all happened in April 2010 and I didn't go back to the clinic until mid-August. We know everyone deals with grief differently.

So eventually we went back to the RE did more testing, we told RE we wanted to give it 6 months to try on our own, stupid mistake. I remember it was near the holidays and my brother and his wife were bringing their IVF baby home. I was so happy for them but felt heartbroken at the same time, (my SIL and I were less then 2 weeks apart in our pg. Ours was a natural miracle while hers was a miracle by IVF.) So I took the plunge and we called the clinic back scheduled IVF in late September and was just devastiated that it was negative. We waited until after the holidays and did the laproscopic surgery in the Spring-you know including the dye test to make sure both tubes were open (dh told me later on RE was shaking his head in disbelief because everything looked textbook perfect.) I went into rage because more then ever I needed a medical diagnosis to find something wrong! So we changed RE to a specialist in Gulf Breeze/ Mobile AL, the director of IVF. I walked in brokenhearted told him our entire journey and broke down. I expected him to tell us to try IVF but he recommended IUI. So did 3 more IUIs with follistim this time. Even took the risk with 7 big follicles on a IUI, but still NOTHING seemed to medically work. So here we are waiting to try IVF once again when dh gets employment straighened out. Maybe this journey has taught me to be strong and determined, maybe in the end we know miracles can happen, but when we see your precious Paul we absolutely know they can! :D

Oh sunshine what a journey! and what a strong woman you are! Thank you so much for sharing. You will get there...you will see it just happens when you least expect it to work...lol Honestly we only did the natural iui for Paul because after our donor embyo cycle failed....(I even risked transferring 3 grade A- blasts!!!) I needed to feel like I was doing something while we were pulling together money for IVF. For me Adoption came up really quick because I was not sure that I could carry to term after my cancer but after we invested 40k in an adoption agency months just came and went and NOTHING happened. Then we were told that once we are chosen by an adopting mom she can of course change her mind but we would pay another 12k which we could not get back if adoption fell through and after 2 years of working on this adoption stuff + remodeling our house and our TERRIBLE home study counselor who told us that our adopted baby would be emotionally scarred and never grow to love us and that we should keep a picture of the birth mother and show it to the baby often and that I would probably.y never be "mom" to an adopted baby and so on...after 2 1/2 years we realized we had no more money to feed to the adoption process and once that happened the agency dropped us and we lost everything we payed them. So long story short I can understand what you mean but I now also believe in miracles and I know it will happen to you soon just keep the faith :)

Oh Goodness, I hope I didn't over-step my boundaries....Last night I emailed the President of the college...To even get a response from the dean I know would just blow me away  and guess WHAT, He did! I don't expect much just someone to help dh find acceptance, closure and maybe recommendation?

Dr. xxxx,
My husband has encountered so many sleepless nights since he heard the devastating news two weeks ago that his contract isn’t being renewed. The History and Political Science Division was in complete shock honestly no one, not even his division chair saw this coming. M contributed so much during his 4 years and as you know holds a 700 page portfolio canvassing everything he has accomplished, plus I just heard M has been nominated for Professor of the Year. I’m not asking you to reconsider the decision that was made but I am asking for a little explanation so we can somehow find closure. We both are having the most difficult time understanding why this decision was made. Even during this sad time, M has remained professional and continued his classes in the most dignified way, more then ever thankful he has his summer classes. But at the same time this is the hardest news he has had to swallow, and I’m wondering if maybe you could share some light on this?

With Much Gratitude,
Christy

Anyway the President of the college just responded back:
Christy, I fully understand your concern for your husband. Please let M know that
I would be glad to meet with him. Dr. T.

Christy, good job writing to the president! I can't wait to hear how the meeting goes. He will probably say it was budget cuts and they typically let go of the last people they hired. Last in - first out policy. I am sorry. Budget cuts suck!

Annahope, what a story! Miracles happen.
Christy, what a story! It is so frustrating when it is unexplained IF. It is supposed to work but you don't know why.

Leora, I am glad you are transferring one. I know the chances a lower, but if you do get a BFP, you can at least breathe a little easier during the pregnancy part. Fingers crossed for you!

AFM, Thanks everyone for your best wishes!!! I ve been feeling the baby kick quite a bit. When I found out I was having a girl For a second i was scared. I am not a girly girl person myself, so I was scared. How am I going to braid hair, etc? But it has passed. I am sure I'll manage :) also, I think it's nice for DS to have a younger sister - he will grow up nurturing of women, which is a great quality in a husband.

Lydia, purchase a bag of ribbons from Hobby Lobby and you will manage just fine! Trust me AnnaBelle's mom was a tomboy growing up, but Belles is the complete opposite- a girly-girl she loves dresses! But you will see her personality shining and you just go with it enjoying every step of the way as she grows into a young lady someday. :D I'm anxious to hear how everything goes next week. I thought dh would be so mad but he said this made his day better and now he's preparing for his upcoming meeting with the President. Like I said we don't expect much but finding closure will help him move forward.

Hi ladies

Christy: you were absolutely right to write that letter and well done on it. Thank you for sharing your pregnancy story. It was terribly sad how it ended and im so sorry that's how it went for you. I remember that awful feeling of knowing our baby had died inside me too and wondering why I wasnt able to keep him/her alive and that was really tough.

Knylee: how are the opks going?

LauraN: how are u feeling? Watching any good movies?

Leora: how are you doing? You asked if we are going again and we will. I want to give it a couple of periods though. And I'll be on menopur too, reading how your mixing went im pretty sure I'll have a melt down about it - purogan is so easy!!

Lauran319: how are you?

Hopethisworks: are you resting ok?

Cyn: are things progressing with your tests?

Lyd: oh congratulations!! A boy and girl, how lovely. How are you feeling?

Maria: my skype doesn't seem to be sending my messages, they are showing as pending. How are you? Have you been back with your neurologist?

Annashope: fantastic the ultrasound went well. How is your back now?

Julia: thanks, im doing ok. How are you feeling g?

Nicole: how are yu? When is your next half marathon?

Really sorry if i forgot anyone!!!

Afm: my older sister is over from the uk. She is a detective inspector in tne police and quite right wing in her attitudes. Im not!!! Other thsn that, saw a therapist on tue. I knew I needed to after the miscarriage and now the failed ivf. She was good, its hard being a Therapist myself ant not getting caught in co prisons, etc, but she specialises in miscarriage and i dont so it was a good session. Heartwrenching, gut pullingly hard with having to start to talk about the pain on person with someone but its the st:-) art of a process.

Julia - are you sure it's a brown recluse? Aren't those deadly poisonous? My BIL has enormous spiders in his basement apartment - but they aren't vemonous. He has this idea that if he leaves the killed spiders around, the live spiders will be intimidated and stay away - but I don't think it works that way! In any case, he has dead spiders, purposefully, left all around the apartment. ICK!

Lauren - when do you start?

Christy - any way that moving might help? Any of the states your DH applied to work in have fertility insurance laws? I hope so! -- btw, we also got really close to adopting a friend-of-a-friend's baby who was unexpectedly pregnant. In the end, after emailing with me for a while, she decided abortion was the easiest option for her. I don't blame her (in her shoes, I would probably abort instead of carrying to term and adopting), but we were so heartbroken. Sometimes it seems like everything in the universe is conspiring against us, huh? --- that's great that you heard back from the dean! I hope he can give a great recommendation for your husband, and maybe he even knows some places that are looking for a great guy like your DH?

HopeThisWorksM - that's an early beta, 11dp2dt. A HPT should work by then. I'm so happy to hear you had good blasts to freeze! Did you ever have frozen embryos before?

Nicole - I find it harder to grieve the babies I lost before we knew what sex they were. In a way, I wish we had done testing ,both to know what was wrong and to find out the babies' sexes. It is weird to know, but it's also weird to not know.

Anna - I was on a camping trip! I did have my phone, but there was nowhere to plug it in and I needed to turn it off so that it would be charged to use the GPS to find our way home! I wanted to stalk for your results, but I was too afraid of killing the battery and being lost :D Cognrats on the great news. What's your due date? Add a ticker!

Kynlee - I didn't mean to scare you! I was told nightmare things about the pain/cramping after an HSG - so I took a whole day off work. In the end, it didn't hurt at all, and I could have gone to work. But for the endo biopsy, I was told it was a simple in-office procedure, so I didn't take off of work, and it hurt soooo bad. Just wanted to warn you, not scare you!

Cyn - I've had cycles when we transferred amazing grade embryos and got BFN -- and both my boys were "only" mourlae on day 5 -- so you never know. Good luck with the OPKs!

Anna & Christy ---- I wish we could make banners for all the people in our lives who say "Just adopt!" --- as if! No one realizes that adoption is sooooo hard.

Patricia - I know someone who is a psychologist who is going through IVF/RPL (she's had 5 m/c since having her daughter 5 years ago). She sees a therapist and says it's really weird to be 'on the other side of the couch', but helpful. I hope therapy was good for you. Funny that you have a twin sister who is politically opposite to you! I have strong political opinions, but no one else in my family does, which is funny.

AFM - camping was fun. We ended up being on the beach, not in the woods, which I've never done before. No bugs, but lots and lots and lots of SAND! I'll be cleaning sand out of my ears and my car for weeks! :D But we had fun. The dogs ran around like crazy, while we slept and read on the beach. Except for the food situation (no one brought a folding table, so we had to sit on the ground and eat off our laps! - lots of actual "sand-wiches") - we had a great time.

I went for SnS this morning. The tech wrote that my lead follicles are 9mm and there are lots of smaller ones. Lining is 7.5mm. I'm still waiting for blood test results and instructions.

It is amazing how much can be missed on here being gone 2-3 days!! Trying to catch up with everyone! I am so happy for those that got BFP's and those PUPO!! Good luck to those cycling now and soon! Wish I could join in ugh!

No news on the paperwork for DH's retirement. So after the mix up we should have heard back on Friday but nope. So tomorrow Dh is going to do some higher up complaining and his work and if they don't get answers on Tuesday he is going to IG and make a complaint and everyone will be looked at to get it straight and possibly some get into trouble over this. It has gone on far too long.

Anyway, we went to Holland this weekend and had a blast! It was supposed to rain the whole time and have thunderstorms, but except for an occasional winds and clouds just covering up the sun, it was NICE!! We fell in love with Dutch Pancakes (Poffertjes)! DS is very picky and sometimes won't even try something, but he was hungry after mainly snacking on the way there (6 hrs) that he tried them. Now I have the recipe and ordering the pan and will make them soon. We bought lots of things for us and family. Got some wooden shoes and cheese too!

Our next trip will be Italy or England. Probably Italy since my son wants to go to Rome really bad!

Hey girls, sorry, no time for perosnals until later :(

annashope - feeling ok so far. A little tired. Sometimes I think I feel pregnant and someitmes not. Just playing it by ear :)

Nidne - Just doing my usuall routing now without any heavy liting and watching what I eat and taking all medications.

Leorira - I thought that was early too! I didnt do a POAS yet. I will POAS on Wednesday or Thursday morning to help get me ready for whatever Wednesday afternoons blood test says. I did have frozen embryos before. My last mc in december (8 weeks pregnant) was from a FET.

Since we transferred 3 Grade A 4 cells on day 2 Im hoping at least one grew and stuck. Maybe 2, who knows :)

Hi all, hope everyones having a heart weekend.

Leora-ya, pretty sure its a brown recluse,I saved it! And it had the violin on its head. They are common in this party of KY.

Afm-I started spotting light pink on Friday night. That kept on and I called the emergency number of my clinic bc i'm an over-reactor lol. Dr called me back and its fine, call back if it Heya as heavy as a period. Yesterday there was no blood. An hour ago there was a drop of dark red on my panty liner. Now i'm freaking out again. I'll monitor it tonight, if it gets worse I'll call, if not I will in the morning.
