Nov/Dec Cycle for Baby #2 attempt?

Hi ladies! So much news over the last few days.

Lyd, great ER numbers! Sounds awesome for your DH's sperm count too; woo hoo! Let us know how many fertilize when you get your call. It's so hard waiting for that call...

Michele, I'm so sorry to hear how your day went today! I am so bummed for your and your DH and yet still hopeful maybe they will find some "twitchers" tomorrow. Is your DH in lots of pain? What an emotional roller coaster for you guys. This whole infertility business SUCKS much of the time and it's so unfair. It seems like the best moms have the most trouble getting pregnant. Please let us know how tomorrow goes and know we are all caring about you and thinking of you! It's so hard to get devastating news and not have anybody close to you "truly" understand. I've talked to numerous friends and family members about our infertility journey, but they never really get it like all of you ladies do.

Barbara, I laughed about you wearing dark underwear and not having the light on in the bathroom! I'm sure everything is going fine for you. Ultrasound is Friday, right? Oh, I have a question for you too. After your first Beta, what were the next steps? Another beta in 2 days? Then, if all looks good, when is the next Beta and first ultrasound? I can't remember from the cycle that gave us our son...

Neffi, big day tomorrow with starting POAS!! Let us know how it goes. We'll all be rooting for you! How have you been feeling? When is your Beta?

AFM, I'm doing just fine; still very aware of activity in my uterus (hope that's a good thing). I keep POAS to make sure the line is getting darker and it is. I hope my Beta is good tomorrow. I'm of course worried about everything, but also trying to enjoy FINALLY feeling happy. I've been so bummed the last 6 months; this is such an emotional boost. I just wish everybody going through infertility could get their BFP this cycle!!

DH is in extreme pain and will be for days. He did not "fall asleep" for some reason during the procedure like he should of (they did "twilight" anesthesia). He said they went into each side 4 times each! Last time I think they did each side once and he was tender for weeks, but in extreme pain for days. He is on percocet and has been laying in bed since we got home around 5. He just came out to try and sit on the couch, but it is too sore to sit up. Poor guy!

Michele, wow, I'm so sorry to hear your DH is in such pain. I can't imagine being awake during a procedure when you are not supposed to be! I hope you are able to pamper him a little bit and that you two will have any additional help that you may need over the next few days. I hope the drugs are able to make him feel a little bit more comfortable...I'm definitely thinking of you guys tonight!

Michelle, I am so sorry! That sounds awful. I really hope they find a couple of sperm tomorrow. I am sorry your DH is in such pain, too. Thank god for Ella. That's what I always say to myself if the 2nd one doesn't work out. I know it's so hard.

Alexis, I am excited for your beta tomorrow.

Barbara, that as funny about peeing in the and dark. I totally know what you mean. Friday is just around the corner.

AFM, I am feeling bloated but not too bad. Just drinking my Gatorade. Tomorrow will find out how many embryos.

POAS ADDICT!!!! 5dp5dt---NEGATIVE. I know its early but I have gotten BFP 10dpo before so I am bummed....

Hang in there Neffi. My beta was 227 (14dpo) and I got only a really faint positive on 10dpo.

Hi Neffi - it is still early. dont worry. when is your beta? wednesday? you strill have lots of time to bring home that BFP.

Yup, it's over for us. I went to ER this morning. I waited in the waiting room for what I knew was way too long. RE called me in and basically said they have found a total of 4 sperm, non moving. He said he would do retreival if that's what I wanted and would inject whatever they found, but they were giving us virtually a 0% chance of attaining fertilization. RE knows me well, as do many of you, and of course I said I couldn't go down without a fight. I figured maybe one of those non-movers was actually alive, or maybe if the lab kept looking they would find something. So I went into ER, under anesthesia, and RE tried for 40 minutes and could not get a clear line to either of my ovaries. No eggs retrieved. It obviously wasn't in the cards for us.

We are at the end of our journey for now. Unless DH decides he is ok with using donor sperm for an insemination, or that he might be ok with adoption and we magically find the money to do it, then we are going to have an only child.

I am truly blessed to have my miracle little girl Ella. I am just beyond sad that she will never know the joy I knew growing up with siblings. I don't want this to be it, but it looks as though it is.

I am staying out of work until monday. I need to take ganerelix injections to bring down my estrogen, and hopefully ovulating out 20 eggs won't be too uncomfortable. I also need to take care of DH who has been in bed for over 24 hours after an excruciatingly painful third tese. I need a few mental health days too. It's a lot to take in that after so many years and failed attempts for baby #2, that is actually the end of my journey. Heartbreaking.

Happy Bunny-- did your BFP at 10dpo come up quickly....was it so light you thought it might not be there? I am really hoping for something tomorrow....I think right now there is an evaporation line on my test....but I didn't really see it until it was dry...

My beta is 12/20 Tuesday. RE knows that I am already testing so I'm sure she's waiting for my call. If she doesn't get a call from me she knows that beta day will be bad news.

Michele, my heart breaks for you and your DH. I am so sorry to hear your news. I wish there was something we could do to help you get through this difficult time. I'm glad you are staying home the rest of the week; I can only imagine how emotional the next few days will be for you. I am so glad you have Ella, but I also totally understand the desire to provide her with a sibling. Please keep us posted with how you are doing and know that we are thinking of you.

At first, I really couldn't tell if I was seeing a line or not - it was within the test time (3-5 minutes). I had to get my husband out of bed and show it to him, he saw it too but we had to hold it at different angles and really squint. I took the test apart and dried it out then I could really see it because the background was white (dry) and not beige because it was wet with urine. After the test was dry, it was much easier to see.

The day before (6dp3dt) there was absolutely nothing even when the test was dry. Totally blank.

My first Beta is in and is 260!!! Next Beta will be on Friday. So happy today

Neffi - still early friend, don't give up yet. I don't know if your previous cycle was an FET, but of my 2 BFPs I've had, the FET one came later.

Barbara - hang in until that U/S. I'm sure things are fine.

Alexis - That's a good strong beta! Definitely in possible twin territory.

AFM - nada. Last BCP to be taken on Friday.

Lyd: Any word from the Embryologist yet? How cool is it that you talk to them directly? I never see or speak to the embryologist until I'm strapped on the table and he wheels the "Babymobile" in.
