GHOST please.

Postby sunny » Mon Dec 19, 2011 9:49 am

Hi, well maybe my question will seem odd but it is something i've been thinking about lately and i needed to ask u about it.
i have a history with hives, not chronic, it only lasts for one week and it is always accompanied by swelling.
i had hives for the first time 3 years ago while i was in the 2ww from an iui , i didnt take any meds, and got a BFN.
last week i had hives for the second time in my life , but im not cycling. (i have allergy to some food)

after the iui i did many ivf that ended up with BFN (i had one BFP which ended up with MC - no know embryos problems ---- unexplained failure)

my question is if hives are the result of an autoimmune system problem - and im a person who have had hives - can this mean that i have a problem with my immune system which is causing all the BFNs ??? knowing that my RE did all the blood tests for my immune system and everything was normal.

thanks for any help.

Sunny - I wish I had an answer - if this is concerning you - try talking to your doctor (RE or regular doctor) about referring you to an immunology specialist.

best of luck!

I also don't have an answer but during my last cycle, I too broke out in hives. I don't know the reason why I got them. It was during my stim phase. My RE gave me steriods and they cleared up. The hives didn't appear to hurt my cycle.

Yes. My doctor wasn't too concerned about them. He prescribed a steroid and we kept going. The hives went away before my stim phase ended, the cycle was fine and we got pregnant.

Very unlikely. Almost everyone is allergic to something, even those women that have ten or more babies in their lifetime.
