Claudia - I hope you get some time to relax in the next 10 weeks before that baby arrives. you are wearning me out and I am not even preggo.

Katie - AF never shows when we want and always shows when we don't want. Hopefully it gets here soon so you can be on your way. Did you get AF after your last failed FET?

Im kind of perturbed today.. I sent an email to the embryologist just to touch base and emphasize i only want one embryo thawed. The embryologist said there was 2 thawing processes, one a quick thaw were they take the embryo out when i arrive at the office and then do the transfer. The other they take the embryo out in the morning, culture it and make sure it survives and is alive before transfer. She asked which way i wanted to do it. This is the first i have heard of this and know that no one would have asked me if i had not sent the email. My transfer was scheduled for 1130 so with it being that early in the morning they would have done the quick thaw and i wouldn't want that. Why transfer an embryo that you don't even know is alive? So its a good thing i sent the email. we switched my transfer time to 2pm so now they will put it in culture to make sure it does survive the thaw. They say their survival rates are 70% so FX'd that my little embie makes it.

Chris - You have every right to feel annoyed, I would have been also. I have never heard of a quick thaw that didnt involve checking that the embie had survived. Actually, I dont see the point of thawing / transfering that way either. This clinic and my old clinic assessed the embie right after the thaw, then again after an hour to make sure that they were rehydrating, and to see how much( if any) cell damage had occurred. Whats the point of thawing right before the patient comes in and just throwing it in there? And especially when you're just transfering 1!! That just doesnt make sense to me. Thank God that you emailed the embryologist and were given a choice. Can you imagine enduring the 2ww and never knowing that the embie looked awful an hr after FET and feeling like you wasted time, emotion amd money on a thaw that wasnt checked a few times??? Whew, that was a close one! I'm curious as to why they even offer that way as an option though..

And still no sign of AF at all.. but thanks for reminding me that the last failed FET I was either seriously late or AF never showed that month. I cant remember.. gah, this seemingly endless cycling has fried my brain! I am so ready to put this behind me! It woud just be better to do that with a sibling, lol.- xoxo

The embryologist said that if someone was transferring all their embryos they do the quick thaw. Still doesn't make session to me. Guess at that point the still get their money for transfer. If my one embryo doesn't survive then they will quick thaw another for transfer so I guess I'm cool with that.

Chris - I'm sorry I just realized that you should be PUPO today. I was running errands all day and then couldnt get a minute to myself until now. So how did your transfer go? I hope that they only had to thaw 1 and that it looked great.
Hopefully you're resting up and letting that little embie get nice and cozy, lol. I'll be thinking of you until your beta - which shouldnt be too far away, right? Wishing you really sticky thoughts honey - xoxo

I am PUPO.. we transferred 1 grade 2 blast yesterday. they only had to thaw one. my betas are next monday and wednesday. i would say i am relaxing but decided to stay home from work today with little boy. so i am chasing around him and picking him up and all the stuff i am not supposed to do. i am not going to stress over this, i believe if this embryo is going to implant than it will implant, so many women do manual labor and get preggo. Going out of town this weekend to visit my sister so least that will keep my mind off of things. I have 50 pee sticks so guess i will POAS. probably will wait till Sunday or Monday.

Oh and if this embie sticks around.. we are team PINK!!! Dh made the decision on gender. I was going to let the embryologist flip a coin. i couldn't care either way and it is a hard decision.

katie - did AF ever show?

Frannie - Hope you are enjoying your anniversary get away.

Chris - Whhoo hooo for having a great thaw and transfer! I wouldnt worry about lifting your little man - both RE's old and new have told me after FET that they dont want you to go crazy and strain yourself, but that normal lifting of babies is alright. Haha, even when I told them that Ryan is a big boy, lol. Yippee for team pink too! As nice as it would be to be able to use all the clothes these big boys grow out of way too soon, a sweet little girl is awfully tempting too! And I hear you on the growing up a tom boy - me too. I think that if you're all girly girly then your DD learns to be that way too, if we're not so girly then they pick up on that also. Well it works in theory at least, right? lol. And nope, AF is nowhere to be found. I guess my body isnt too happy with the idea of a 5th FET in the span of 1 year, huh? At least the Metformin isnt bothering me and today I reached my final dosage so no more increase and thats a good thing. Now back to my regularly scheduled thoughts of "where the heck is my AF"?? haha. Enjoy your weekend away and dont go POASing too early now, lol.

Franny - how was your anniversary and vacation.

I had my first beta yesterday 7dp5dt and it was a big whopping 5.. so i am keeping my fx'd that my little girl just wants to cause trouble already and doing things on her own time. 2nd beta tomorrow.

Chris - I wont even remind you about how FETs are known to have lower betas, I know you know this already. I'm going to just wait for the next beta tomorrow along with you and darn why is it taking so long??? LOL. A 5 means that she's producing hcg so now we just have to wait and pray for a good rise tomorrow. I know how awful the last few days are
( too well) so try to hang in there, ok? Umm, is it tomorrow yet? haha. much love honey and I'll stalk you as long as I can.

Franny - Where are you? How was your mini vacation? Whats next? Umm, yes, I am full of questions today, lol. And miss you too..

Gi - So we're both on AF watch waiting to start the BCPs then? I've been waiting and waiting but nothing yet, I have the feeling that my body is not happy with more pills, injections and has decided to not cooperate with me, lol. If my AF EVER shows up then we'll be together for another round of ivf torment, yay? I'm definitely having a tough time working up enthusiasm this time, its just been long that I've been at this. On a high note I know this will be it for us, either way because instead of semi excited I seem to be dragging my feet as much as possible. Hee hee, and I suppose so is my body.

Claudia, Libby, Lyd - I hope that you're all doing fine and just busy having a fun in the sun. Check in when you all have time, ok?

AFM - So my donor coordinator seems to be itching to set up my schedule, and move my chart off of her desk, lol. She emailed me and mentioned that I should POAS ( haha) to see if thats why my AF is missing. After laughing my head off, I reminded her that since my tubes were removed before even trying ivf the first time, thats pretty unlikely. Ahh, that made me laugh almost as much as the time my old RE ( who removed my tubes) said " let's convert to IUI" after an abysmal follie check. Boy, I sure do love when Drs & nurses dont peek into your chart sometimes, doesnt it just make you feel so confident in them, lol. She then offered to write me an order for a u/s to see whats going on. I told her not just yet, but now I'm wondering how much longer I can/ should wait for AF? You know as soon as I agree to it that AF will show, right? Much love and luck to us all - xoxo

Chris, keeIng my fingers crossed your beta rises nicely. Beta limbo is no fun:( but you should have more clarity on Wednesday.

Katie, thanks for asking about me. Not much to report here. Tired. And tired of chasing the 2.5 year old. Also I have cramps and Braxton hicks if i don't drink enough. So I drink lots. 6 more weeks to go. 3 more weeks till I stop work. Yey!

I already got a parttime babysitter lined up to help with the baby this time around. So I can catch a few hours of sleep during the day.

DH and I postponed the discussion of what to do with remaining embryos until we see what it feels like to have 2 kids. A year from now we ll have a better picture. Maybe even 1.5 years from now.

Katie - I hate it when they don't look at charts.. really is it that hard.. I would think they have a synopsis of DX.. I have no patience for the clinics and their nurses any more. I would wait to see if AF shows, if she isn't here by next week, either take provara to see if that will jump start or go in for an u/s. they could also check your E2 levels fist, if those are elevated could mean you have a cyst.

LYD - Good Luck on the decision for number 3.. You don't have to make that decision now. See how it goes with having two, you might change your mind for 3. We are sticking to only having 2. I am tired of dealing with infertility and can't afford any more cycles or FET's. DH did say if we got pregnant with a miracle baby using my eggs he would be fine with 3. Not going to get my hopes up for that one.

My blood draw is done.. now just waiting.. Pee sticks are a little darker so praying that my beta has at least doubled.

gi and Katie - did AF every make her way here?

Franny - Where are you??? I know you like to take a break from the boards. Hope you are enjoying your time away.

AFM - did another beta yesterday and my number went up to 446 @ 14dp5dt, up from 86 on 11dp5dt. Think i am going to stay out of crazy town and not do any more betas. save some money since now i have to pay out of pocket for them. Ultra sound is on the 14th. I don't feel preggo at all so its still surreal. guess i am considered 5 weeks tomorrow.
