Please don't feel bad that you upset me. I only got upset because I was excited for you and can't imagine how you must feel. Did they give you any explanation? That seems odd to me especially if your numbers are good. Did you POAS BTW, forgot to ask you that!

It hasn't been a good couple of days. Had a scare yesterday with some terrible gas pains, but that's all they were. I took some TUMS and they settled down.

They didn't. They just said it happens sometimes. The only risk factor I have for ectopic is that I used fertility drugs to get pregnant. When I did my pre-cycle work up, my RE said my reproductive system looked gorgeous even if it wasn't working properly, which means no scarring or evidence of prior untreated STDs or anything. Ectopics are really rare (2%) so I guess the odds were just not in our favor if that's what it turns out to be.

They bumped me to Monday for my second U/S because my HcG went up so much and they really want to monitor me closely so they (and I) don't have to deal with a rupture and the subsequent recovery.

Honestly, I'm holding out hope that they just missed it and that the baby is tucked in a weird but still viable place. My plan is to not get off the table on Monday until they find SOMETHING. Even if it's in the wrong place and we have to take steps, at least we'll know. I'm going to ask the U/S tech to look with the abdominal tool as well because there is a case of a woman who looked to have an empty uterus all the way to 9 weeks (same symptoms as I have), but her tubes were clear and everything but the doc was only checking with a trans-vaginal wand. When they finally broke out the abdominal scanner, BOOM baby. The embryo had just attached in a weird place. Completely viable, but unexpected.

I did POAS the day before my blood test. I wouldn't recommend it because mine came back negative! I was actually surprised when the nurse called me congratulate us, because I thought we had a shot cycle. Extra, uneeded stress.

Hey! I really hope there is a baby and it is just in an unusual place! That would be great news! Keep up hope until then!!! I am glad you told told about about the pee test because I totally want to. I am trying not to because it could be negative and I am really pregnant. UGHHHH.... I need to hold out.

Well, I wish you the best and hope that you have better luck than we did with our cycle. Went in today for my follow-up ultrasound and they confirmed the ectopic (tubal). It's large enough now that they'll be taking my tube as well. I'm going under the knife this evening to make sure they get it before it ruptures.

OMG!! That is horrible! I am so sorry to hear that. That is devastating. How are you holding up? I just found out today mine didn't take. I was expecting it since I have been POAS. I am more upset at the fact that my RE told me I am such a poor responder that I will never get pregnant naturally :( I think what you are facing right now is far worse than what I am experiencing. My heart goes out to you.
