can't have a child

Postby glendakim » Tue Jan 02, 2018 2:02 pm

Hi there. How are you all doing? Anyway! My introduction is that I'm a thirty-year-old lady from the USA. I can't have a child of my own due to some issue with my health. I'm moving to Ukraine for a year for having an IVF or surrogacy. I just want to have a little advice on this issue that should I go for frozen eggs or fresh ones in an IVF? I'm a little confused as both of them have equal results in terms of stats. As I've studied on the internet. Because it's really a very important for me. I always seek people's opinion on stuff. But, it's really a very uncommon and rare thing to ask. So, that is why I joined this forum and ask you all about it. A little help can be appreciated! Thanks all!

In the USA, the success rates with frozen embryos have increased steadily and are now better than fresh transfers in all age groups. Most clinics are switching over to freezing most or all embryos. The fresh transfer is fading away.

In Europe, the frozen embryo transfer protocols are less advanced. For example, a recent Dutch randomized trial comparing two frozen transfer protocols had implantation rates near 10%, where the same patient groups would have had at least 40% implantation rate in the USA.

You should therefore complete your IVF treatments before moving to Ukraine.

Ukraine is particularly questionable for IVF treatment due to dishonest practices. Shills have created numerous sock accounts on these boards, pretending to be patients but actually just deceptively advertising for the Ukraine. Many were easy to spot because they told contradictory stories. For example, two of them forgot how old they said they were. Another said she was late in her pregnancy, and then posted she was about to start IVF. Other signed their posts with the names of other sock accounts. And more.

I would avoid any centers that advertise so deceptively.

Hi there, success rates are definitely better with frozen embryo - that's what the forum posts suggest usually. Clinics in both US, UK and other parts of EU are adopting it rapidly over fresh transfers. Another important mention is that the age of the embryo matters a bit - so freezing seems quite a promising decision. It is because clinical Research suggests that the freezing provides sufficient time for the uterus to recover from IVF medications (all the stimulations and other hormonal medications) providing optimum conditions for implantation. An excess dose of even progesterone won't help unless you're actually short on it or the OHSS (if any) better pass before the transfer. Plus, I think the genetic profiling before FET on day three cleavage-stage embryos is facilitated by freezing - that's what all the information online says. The only serious problem with freezing is some embryos might not be able to take the thaw, the clinics though ensure every possible measure against it. I think it's only favourable to go for frozen transfer than fresh ones. Hope you get a BFP soon no matter which transfer you choose at the end of the day. Sending love and baby dust your way! :)

Hi GlendaKim! I'm doing really fine. First of all, I wish you luck with it! I hope it goes successfully! You really deserve better than this. Anyway! I'll come to your point. Well, I don't really know much about these eggs related thing. But, as per my experience with people. I think you really should go for fresh eggs. Because I've seen women having better results with it. I've had few years of treatment experience and I've made friends who are in the same boat as mine. So, yes! I remember they all went with fresh ones. Besides that, I think you should listen to your clinician's advise on this one. Because I think a professional advice is better than a public opinion.

Glendakim is having a conversation with Glendakim.

Obviously another fake sock account pretending to be a real patient.

Hello glendkim
Sorry to hear about your problem. I can understand your situation because I too had faced this. I also underwent IVF, In my case, it's with the fresh egg. My husband my very concerned about having a baby, so he doesn't want to take any risk and wants to be sure. Actually at that we never much aware of other options. So, we choose fresh eggs, the thing convinced us the more about IVF with fresh eggs is its success rate. Yes, the success rate of fresh eggs is higher than the frozen one. However, Fresh donor egg IVF cycles typically are more expensive than IVF cycles with frozen donor eggs. The cost per live birth may not be higher, depending on a clinic’s success rates with frozen eggs. Also, the average for live births from embryos using frozen eggs is still lower than that of fresh eggs. In a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association last year, the live birth rate from frozen eggs was 47.1 percent, while the rate of fresh eggs was 56.1 percent. However, this varies from clinic to clinic, and the rates are improving. So, before going for any treatment, have a complete study about it and search for a good clinic. The choose clinic plays a vital role in the success of the treatment. Hope this helps you. Good Luck.

Let me support you a little bit, dear. Being infertile is really awfull. I know that like nobody else. I'm very glad that you were strong enough to find the solution. IVF and surrogacy are getting very popular nowadays. That's why one of these services will definitely help you. To say truth, it's hard to answer your question. As for me you should talk to your doctor. He knows your medical history and he will offer you the best option. But I still don't understand, are you going for the surrogacy or IVF? Is there a chance for you to give birth? It would be really great if you could get pregnant even with the help of IVF. I always dreamed to give birth. Unfortunately, I'm infertile. Anyway, I have my 3 years old baby boy. He was born by the surrogate. So, I know that it works.

Anna-WWW - congrats! Myself I know a few ladies who got pregnant via IVF (OE, DE or PGS NGS), but as I see surrogacy is gaining popularity
