New to site.... having my transfer tomorrow!

Post by thook »

Hello Everyone-

I'm new to this site, just signed up today. I have been reading some of the posts and thought it was a great place to chat with people going through the same thing as me (kind of puts my mind at ease).

I actually just went in for my 1st IVF egg retrieval this past Monday (retrieved 23 eggs - 16 of which were mature - and 12 of which fertilized, is that good?) and am scheduled for a day 5 transfer tomorrow at 10:00am. Does anyone know if a day 5 transfer is better than a day 3 transfer?

I'm kind of glad to be done with almost all my shots for now. I'm on progesterone oil shots at night along with crinone. Anyone else doing this?

Well any suggestions for me would be greatly appreciated.... what to expect after transfer, how to care for myself after transfer, etc.

Look forward to some of your replys!

Your retrieval sounds about average. I had 28 eggs retrieved--22 mature--12 fertilized perfect. : ) 2 transferred back on day 3. From what i have read day 3 and day 5 have pros and cons to both--usually a clinics choice. We did a day 3 and are currently 5 1/2 weeks pg. : )
I am still taking PIO shots---my bottom has gotten rather sore. We will be on the pio shots at least until my us at 8wks. As for transfer--it really is a piece of cake the hardest part is holding your bladder. My clinic has you come in with a full bladder and then after transfer 1 hour of bed rest---omg i almost wet the bed. The day of transfer i just laid around the house relaxing thinking positive. The next day i got up and did normal things within in reason---no vacumming and stuff like that--but swept the floors, dusted, went shopping etc. I hope you get your BFP right away. Good luck with your 2 ww. Bridget

Yeah hopefully the next 10 days will go by fast... however I'm thinking that's wishful thinking. Well I guess I'll just make the best of it....

Anyone know when signs of pregnancy start to show (that is if you get any)? Iknow I'm getting ahead of myself but I'm so excited and just trying to stay positive.
