Thank you mpfg. It was nice to check back to the website and see that there is someone out there who understands me.

Ikamnik you sound just like me a couple of months ago. I too had 3 cycles of iui with clomid then moved on to menopur. I got pregnant on my third round of menopur but a very nearly didn't even do that last cycle 'cos I felt so physically and emotionally drained.
Are you getting side-effects from the menopur? I was really nauseous, tired and emotional from it the first cycle. This improved a bit by the second one and the last one I had hardly any side-effects so I think my body got used to it.
Everyone on here understands how you feel. I've found it a great place to get the support you need.
Try to keep positive and persevere, I'm proof that this works.
Good luck

I'm trying to stay positive and I do have some good days. Luckily, I don't feel any side effects from the menopur since I'm on such a low dose. I wish that my doctor would increase the dosage since it's taking so long. I guess I have to trust that he knows what he's doing.

Lately I've been drinking a lot more wine than I normally do. I think part of it is that I keep thinking "well, if I can't get pregnant, then I might as well drink." This then leads to fighting with my husband, which inevitably leads to me breaking down about not having a baby. Sometimes I wonder if my husband and I will be able to survive together if the treatments don't work. I never thought it would be this hard.

Hello all!! Yes I am very frustrated and am trying to stay patient. I have not been on BCP at all so I hope that they don't have to do that next cycle because then there is another wasted month of not being able to try and I definitely won't be able to get a natural pregnancy. This sucks.

Hi Ikamnik,
I thought Clomid was the worse drug I've taken yet. I was miserable, depressed, fought with my husband  . It was awful. After a few months, I took Follistim for an injectable and the horrible emotions were 90% better.
It does sucks when everyone around you is getting pregnant, and then not giving two thoughts about how you might react when they tell your their great news.
Both fortunately and unfortunately, practically all my friends are done having babies...so i don't get the 'happy for them, depressed for me' as much anymore. But now I'm starting to feel OLD.
I'm hopefully going to get an appt. with an IVF doctor in February, but the wait sucks. Feels like it's years away before we can try something new.
We all feel the same and are with you...so vent with us and it will help to talk to people.

Maineknitter-I know the waiting is awful! But you must be so excited to try ivf. The success rates are so much better! I wish we were in a position to try that next, but not yet!
Ikamnik-Keep your head up! I hope you are feeling better. Its easy to let all this stuff get you depressed. Keep us posted on whats going on with you!
Im off to the re to check my follicles (the big giant ones I asked for werent under the tree, so Im hoping we find them on my u/s today!).
Hope you all had a merry christmas!

I think it went well. I have two 20mm and one 17mm follicles on my right ovary, a few small ones on the left and the lining was 8.5mm. So the numbers all seem good. But we all know the numbers can be there and still we can be disapointed (Im trying not to get too excited, can you tell?) I did the trigger shot today and go in for iui tommorow. Then 14 lovely days of waiting!!! Keep your fingers crossed for me! I hope we are all celebrating really soon!
PS. Im reading the funniest book. Its called "The Baby Trail" by Sinead Moriarty. Its a novel about trying to get pregnant. I think someone on here recommended it and its hilarious!!

Here's lots of baby dust to mkdig and her iui yesterday. Hope everything works out this time. What is your test date, MK? I am praying for you.

Well, my good old AF arrived today, right on time like i thought it would. Still disappointing though. Now I'm just waiting to get an appt. with the IVF doc, and probably not until February. The wait is going to suck!! :x arrrr!

I am so sorry mainekitter about AF, but you know that IVF will be the saviour. Keep your head up and go into the next several weeks of hormones with a positive attitude.

MK, looking forward to hearing a BFP from you.
