HI!
Anyone else out there been told they have a short cervix (not dialating) and now on bedrest? I went in for a cervical lengthening and its shrunk to 1cm (should be over 2.5cm). Now I am on bedrest the rest of the pregnancy.
Any successful outcomes of carrying to term (i have twins).
TIA
Karen

Hi Karen,
I am pregnant with triplets and they have always checked my cervix and thankfully it has always been long, even though it does fluctuate from week to week. I hope bed rest will help yours get longer and you won't have any more problems with it. I will be 27 weeks this weekend and have an appt friday so I am hoping for good news...you just never know!!
Hope you don't do go too crazy on bed rest!!

I have been on bedrest since 27 weeks (now 35 weeks) for a different reason---low amniotic fluid. I feel for you as bedrest has been one of the most difficult challenges of my life! You get so sore, weak, and bored! I hope it works for you so you can keep those babies in as long as possible.
Have your friends bring you some good books!

Hi Karen
There are many pregnant women who managed to have live birth with short cervix, though most will have a preterm babies . Now you are almost 28 weeks if it happen that you goes into labour the chance of delivering a live birth is very good in particular if you pass 34 weeks
Some clinicians prescribe hormone progesterone ( natural hormone) to reduce the risk of early labour
Please be carful from lying in bed for long time as it increase risk of developing blood clot
