Hi Alreadyblessed,
I am sorry that you are feeling this way. I know sometimes people don't feel the way we have to struggle to get pg and the stress we are going through. Thats what I wonder sometimes that God gives babies to people who don't appreciate them and abort them or leave them foe adoption and here we are ladies crying to get the blessing of a child. It doesn't matter even if you have 2 children but you have to go through the same pain and stress.
Thanx for the advice but I don't know whether I would excuse myself of stomachache as she keeps asking in every call whether I am feeling ok and I tell her I am absolutely fine and she can plan to come anytime but I thought she will be coming during long weekend not so soon. It is good that you have a puppy now so you must be busy. I hear you of the cleaning stuff but I think I will make my dh do that stuff after they leave as I will be cooking during their stay. Fair enough, isn't it.

Yup!!! we are writing at the same time. Good that you are feeling better now. Just don't worry abt anything because this definitely is working.

I have always had conflicting ideas regarding sharing the news early. On the one hand I feel as many people would come to know, they will bless us because most of them are aware of the struggles we are going through to get ourselves pregnant but on the hand I am scared and feel jinxed that by telling abt my pregnancy early, i would be breaking the so established norms. Till now only our immediate family knows abt it and we have planned to announce it to our friens once I complete my 12 week landmark. :)

I am fine and thanks for asking that. M/S comes and goes. If I feel perfect somedays, I start having doubts....:) so i think some amount of m/s is better. ;)

How are you doing? Good that you are walking, I am just at home and taking it easy for a while.

Hugs....:)

Hi Ladies,
Oh yes, it feels good to read so many posts at a time. I do go for a walk in the evening with my dh after he comes back from work but I was talking abt going for sightseeing. You know how much you have to walk in downtown or in any tourist place. So I think I will avoid it. My dh thinks I won't be able to hide it from them as I have started to show little bit. Instead of my beautiful  girly figure now it looks like a broad waist and some fat is on my tummy. I don't know whether it is due to the hormones and sitting at home or I am really showing due to pg. Anyways, I love the look. I try to weigh myself evryday to see the change in weight thinking how much my baby (ies) will be growing :)
I know m/s is bad but like you I have also started to like it as it makes me feel pg and also get some attention  I also feel sameway abt telling people so unless it becomes very obvious I won't tell them. I am planning to keep it a secret as long as I can but one of my neighbour seem to be guessing as everytime she comes she asks me the same question, "Are you expecting?" and I lie to them. They know abt my surgery so I have told them that dr has asked me to wait for few more months  I am looking forward to having a nice weekend as it is very stressful with this waiting game during the weekdays mostly.
Hope everybody has a happening weekend and lot of fun with dh

I went for my first u/s today!!! We have one perfect bean! The heart rate was at 125! We are so happy that everything is going well. I will be glad when I finally get into my school schedule, cause right now I am working quite a bit and all I want to do when I get home is sleep.

I understand the reason for not telling anyone about being pg until the 12th week. That is why we didn't tell anyone about the treatment. Then I started thinking, well if I tell people then there are more people in my corner praying for me and the baby. So, my dh and I decided to tell everyone as soon as we found out. I guess it made me feel better that all these people were praying for us.

As for m/s I seem to get it right as I am getting hungry and right after I eat. Any other time I am fine, except that I can't seem to get enough to drink. I am always thirsty.

My new mantra: Grow babies Grow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi all. i agree with all of you about the 12 week mark to tell people.
even Drs agree that once you make it through the 1st trimester, you're in a safe place, atleast as safe as it gets ;)
i too will wait another 5 weeks to let friends/extended family know- keeping fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly....

babyloves- thanks for asking, i'm doing well, hope are doing gr8 too. my next u/s is on 20th, since my Dr is out of town and I don't want to see the other physician in their practice- not my fave. person :x

I'm off from work tomorrow so look fwd to hitting the refresh button on this thread many times!! keep the posts coming, ladies!!

Peace out......

Holy moly! I worked from 2-10 yesterday, and I came back and the posts are in abundance!!! Good for us!! I'm gonna try to catch up :)

Babyloves~ We got a black lab mix. He is sooooo cute! he definitely keeps me busy. My husband and I love shepards too, but I had a few growing up and they are very tempermental, so you have to be careful with kids.

sonu~ Thanks for the words of encouragement with dealing with the negative people around me. It truly is sad. This board has really kept me going. You are right that people don't understand what we are going through. I still have people at work saying "you have to go home to do that shot AGAIN? How annoying that must be". UGH So true that you ladies are the only ones that truly understand, as you are going through the process as well. Sometimes even DH doesn't understand. He wants to know why I am sleeping all morning. Gee I don't know could it be that #1 I'm pregnant, or maybe #2 the fact that I get up to pee 36 times per night. This site is a breath of fresh air....thanks ladies

Amazu~ Have a wonderful weekend. However it unfolds, I'm sure it will turn out to be just fine. I like the part about the DH doing the cleaning :D I know what you mean about women who don't even want to get pregnant having babies. My issues with infertility began in 1998, and at the time I was working for NYC EMS. I can't tell you how many women I would pick up that would tell me they were pregnant with their 9th baby and they were so annoyed about it. It would turn my stomach! I am currently teaching EMT and paramedic programs and one of the girls left my class 3 nights ago because she "was having a very bad period". I come to find that she went and had an abortion and was uncomfortable. It is truly amazing. I thank God every day for my 2 DDs and I would consider myself 3xs blessed if I was fortunate enough to love another baby.

tjspry~ CONGRATS on your BFHB (can I make a new abbreviation~ Big fat heartbeat!!!!!) That's wonderful!!! How far along are you? I agree with you about telling people before the 12wk mark. My feeling is that if nobody knows, and God forbid things don't work out, then you have that entire support system. If you don't tell anyone, and you are suddenly withdrawn and upset, it's harder for them to understand. Either way, it's whatever each person is comfortable with.

Quick question... I love the little baby time lines you have. I would love to start one, but I am only 5w3d. Do most people wait until the u/s is confirmed, or is it ok to start it now?

I would love to join you ladies with a few worries & questions of my own. I had IVF with ICSI transfer on 7/18/08, I didn't even know to ask about my hcg levels until my third one was done on 8/6/08-2398-Is that a good number according to what any of you know? I know the nurse said the numbers look great and are rising-I will ask at my next appt. what the first 2 hcg numbers were. I am scheduled for an u/s on tues-8/12-I'm not even sure if a heartbeat would show yet or not. I have so many questions....any & all of you answering me with your advise and wisdom would be great!

Hi Jennywit~ Congrats, and welcome to the board. I too had transfer on 7-18. The rule of thumb with the beta #s is that they should at least double every 2 days, but that # sounds pretty high, so don't worry. I also have an ultrasound this week-mine is on wed 8-13. I had my first u/s last week and the doc thinks he saw a sac. I'm pretty sure by next wed. he will be able to see for sure. We may be able to see the heartbeat by that point too. Keep me posted on how your progress is going!

Thanks for the info...This waiting to know is driving me crazy!!! I want to be happy but every little twinge or ache in my body makes me feel like I could be miscarrying. When I woke up this am & peed, I had a slight amout of like a light tan color on the toilet paper. No cramping & nothing else since, but I'm scared to death!! I do have a three year old son & I did have a little bit of the same kind of discharge with him, but he wasn't conceived with IVF-What do you think, if It was a miscarriage would I prob. end up with brown or red bleeding & cramps?

Hi Ladies,
I got some time off from my guest so thought of reading your mails. It seems everybody is very busy in the weekend. Anyways, I told my friend as my dh and my mom said since they are very good friend. there is no harm in sharing the good news but I asked her to keep it a secret till 12 weeks are over.
Jennywit - Welcome to this board and congrats for being pg. The beta nos. look very good and as alreadyblessed said the key is in doubling so you can call the clinic and can ask them for your previous nos. if you are eager to know. Please don't worry for the spotting as I have read that it is very common in any type of pg. If it is red or cramping then there can be something wrong otherwise it might be old blood. But do mention it on your appt. and try to take it easy and relax. As you know already it is ivf and we should always be very careful. Enjoy your pg,
Annie

AMAZU-thanks for the advice, & congrats to you too. I couldn't stand worrying all day, so I called my doc-he said that is perfectly normal too, and he isn't concerned about the discharge. (easy for him to say!!) Anyway, I am keeping positive and hoping for no cramps or real bleeding. He said what I described was discharge, not even spotting. Let's hope that doesn't change! Happy thoughts to all!!

Welcome to the board, Jenny
Congratulations on the great beat numbers and I am sorry that you had to go through spotting scare. Though I know each pregnancy is different and its a common factor. I am glad you could speak to your doc and there is nothing to worry about. My best wishes to you for a healthy pregnancy ahead.

Amazu - Glad you didn't have to act up and yes, it would have been very difficult if your guests would not know the real facts. And most definitely, more wishes we get fm our loved ones, the better it gets...:)

Babyloves, already blessed, tjspry - hope you guys had a fabulous and relaxing weekend and that you all are doing great!!!

Hugs and love to all
