Hi lilmd

Oh my what a journey you are having to experience, your stomach must have flipped when you saw the heartbeat, how are you coping with all this?

I am so pleased you have let me know what is going on, all I can say is I am really really hoping for you that this goes the right way for you and you get some definate news one way or the other soon. When will you be having another U/S?

As for me we are foster carers and we have had 2 children arrive as emergency placements over christmas which has made things very busy for us. It has been a godsend really as we will now have 3 children here (also one who is with us for a few months) on xmas day and since they arrived on thursday I have not had a minute to think about how I did not really want the holidays to come and now we have to have a festive time for the children, so life goes on in mysterious ways!!

Thinking of you

Take Care

Sara,

Thank you so much for sharing and pulling for me. I have 2 step children that live with us for time so they are a true blessing in my life! I have to say that I am fortunate in that respect... and they are wonderful! I go back on Monday or Tuesday next week. I am thinking Monday. The thing I didn't really like was that my doctor called me and I asked how do you measure the rate of the heart rate and they said their machine doesn't do that. I know the the heartrate "looked" different today. It wasn't a bright white flashing light... much more subtle but could that be based on the placement of the fetus and the quality of the U/S? Not really sure.. and I have to wait and see.

Last week when the heart rate appeared it and was strong it was on a day that my HCG had actually dropped a bit... but now the heart rate seems slow but the HCG #'s almost doubled... can we have everything go in the right direction next time?

I went in yesterday for my next U/S. I wish I had better news to share. The embryo stopped developing and there was no heartbeat. I was pretty much been prepared for this outcome since I have been on a roller coaster for 3 weeks. I have still been nauseous but the doctor told me the placenta is still functioning and hasn't figured out that the embryo stopped growing. I am scheduled for a D&C in a few hours. I am a bit nervous but have heard that it isn't so bad... at least physically.

Hi lilmd

I am so so sorry, you sound very similar to what happened to me, it is so hard when your body still feels pregnant, the placenta was still functioning for me too. I also had a D & C I couldn't bear the thought of waiting for the baby to come away naturally as they said it could take up to 5 weeks. The D & C was ok physically, I am crying for you as I know how devastated I was and I wouldn't wish the feelings I had and still have on anyone. Thankyou for sharing this and letting me know I have been thinking of you.

Sending you lots of hugs,

Lee xx
