ANYONE ELSE FEELING THOSE HORMONES!???!?!?!?!?

Announcement of pregnancy and birth following assisted reproductive treatment.

ANYONE ELSE FEELING THOSE HORMONES!???!?!?!?!?

Postby alreadyblessed » Thu Nov 27, 2008 3:25 am

Hi all,
I am currently 21 weeks pregnant, and I am starting to feel like I should lock myself in my bedroom alone for the next 19. My emotions are ALL over the place. Within the course of the day I managed to have an argument with my mother, cry uncontrollably when my 4 year old sang in her Thanksgiving show at school, and then brawl with my uncle on the phone over not returning his previous calls to me. I think I may have even thrown the mailman a dirty look  I feel so short tempered, and then I go from that to crying at the drop of a hat. We have a karaoke machine, and my 9 yr old was singing Puff the magic dragon, and I had to leave the room because I was crying so badly at the end when the boy didn't want to play with the dragon anymore. UGH!!!! Please tell me I am not alone with these feelings.

I CRACKED UP reading about your 'Puff the Magic Dragon' crying episode. I had it BAD too especially towards the end. I remember watching episodes of 'Survivor', and crying bitterly when their family members came to visit. It's normal and most of us go through it, if that helps. I also remember being a MONSTER if a 'wrong button' was pushed. All part of the joys of mommyhood. I will say this: all the blood, sweat, and tears amounts to this precious bundle of joy that you couldn't even imagine was possible. It'll be great :). Sometimes I feel such love for my little guy that it hurts.

Have a great pregnancy.

Thanks Shari. I know it is all part of pregnancy, and that the reward is soooooo worth it. It's just hard sometimes when you catch yourself acting like the moodiest person in town. You know why, but you can't help it. My poor 9 yr old is walking on eggshells. Can't wait to hold my little one and tell him all these crazy things mommy was feeling way back when. Happy Thanksgiving!

Ah, so you have a daughter, so you already know the love and joy that I was talking about. How amazing to be able to add on to your 'already blessed' family.

Hope your moods get less 'swingy' soon!

Happy Late Thanksgiving!

D-uh, you even spoke of your kids in your first letter. My brain cells have clearly continued to fall out of my head even post pregnancy.

Take care.

sharishu~
LOL you crack me up. I totally understand the "baby brain" thing. And yes, it does carry on after delivery. It does get better, I just can't seem to remember when :? . How are you adjusting to life with a new little one? It is so hard in the beginning, but sooo sooo worth it. Hope you are doing well.

Hi alreadyblessed--the funny thing about my hormones and mood swings is that sometimes I don't notice them  I only realize it when my poor dh looks at me like this :? :? and says "What did I do?" "I'm sorry"...then I snap out of it and think..."oops, true no a big deal!"

Now, about baby brain. I have a final due tonight and I have no motivation to write it....ghhhhh....I got mad at the professor yesterday. I almost felt like e-mailing him and telling him how evil he was for putting a deadline right when we are supposed to be on break. I felt like writing "What's wrong with you?"   Imagine if I had done that? I would probably get an "f" in my final  Next semester is going to be challenging to say the least.

Hi esperanza!
I know exactly what you mean. You aren't aware that you are becoming the wicked witch of the west until someone points it out. It's freaky. The baby brain doesn't go away until quite a while after birth, so this is going to be a tough time to be a student. Good luck with your paper, and when you feel like emailing your professor, post us ladies instead. We understand. He will just look at you like this
