Lili- I have not found out anything yet. We are waiting for my 20 week scan to make any decision about an amnio. I go in tues feb 17. If all is good then it ends there. If they see some kind of abnormality that indicates downs I have to really decide if I want to go through with the amnio which is scheduled for Fri Feb 20th. For now I am not thinking about it.

Debby- I am at peace with my decision to wait right now. That may change if they tell me they see an abnormality on the u/s but for now it is good enough.

Hope everyone is doing good. I am really starting to feel movement now these past few days. I have thought here and there I "might" have felt something but now I am sure it is the baby. Dh is a bit frustrated that he can't feel the baby yet but it is so cute. He puts his hands on my belly at night when we are laying in bed then goes "I want to feel it!". For awhile I said me too but now I am feeling it. I think he is a tad jealous because he told me "yeah right its probably just gas" and laughs.

Hi everyone...just wanted to update you as to where we are...we went in for the reduction on Thursday. After they checked the babies with u/s they gave me a shot to relax and sedate me and had me wait 20 minutes for the shot to take hold...needless to say, I cried the whole time. It was really the first time that I realized what we were about to do-and my DH and I said goodbye to a son that we would never know. After that they came in and started the procedure-I was not asleep, but felt like I was outside of my own body. After, they stayed and checked the other two babies for about 20 minutes and then left me to sleep for about an hour and a half. The doctor came back in and once again checked the twins, who looked good, and sent me on my way home.

Whatever shot they gave me lasted the rest of the day into Firday-the nurse said they do that purposely so you remember very little of the day. Thank god because I look at my DH, who watched the whole thing and I can see how emotionally drained he is. I know we did what was best for the baby and this pregnancy...but I only have one word to describe the whole thing...sad. I truly hope that nobody has to make the decision that I have had, because it is truly numbing.

I now want to look to the future of this pregnancy and a healthy outcome. I am nervous about the twins, that I will go in on Monday and they won't be there. I am trying to stay positive and give these babies good vibes.

My thoughts and wishes are with all of you.
Melissa

Melissa- I am so sorry for what you have been through. I don't blame you for crying. I know that must have been such a hard and painful decision but you just have to remember you did what you thought was best for you, your remaining twins and mostly for that baby. Raising a child with disabilities is never easy and not knowing the quality of life this child was facing is just dreadful. Of course it is only natural to morn the loss of your one baby but try to stay strong for your remaining two. I think about you often and hope that the rest of your pregnancy is uneventful and you deliver two healthy babies when all is said and done. Keep us posted on how you are doing. How are you feeling physically?

Melissa,
my heart goes out to you. We had 3 embryos transferred and had I ended up with 3 that took, we most likely would have had to reduce. Two of mine implanted and I have two healthy baby boys. thank god. praying that your twins stay strong and healthy. <3

Marina & Melissa- what strong women you both are. You are both constantly in my thoughts- and I'm sure you know what I mean by "constantly".... our minds just tend toward these things, don't they?

AFM: I had my f/u with the GI who did the colonoscopy.... NOW he wants me to see a Colo-Rectal SURGEON for cripes sake! AND have a nuclear scan to check for red blood cells clustering somewhere inside me..... His bedside manner was just simply atrocious (sp?) and then he wants to see me again..... NOT! He will not get even one more red cent of mine. I'd rather die. Besides, he said he isn't able to remove a simple internal hemmoroid, so what would he have done if I had endo in my colon?? UGH. We see the RE this Wednesday for a consult on next steps. Our hope is that he will ok us to proceed with IUI, simply b/c my problem only happens when I'm on my period. I cannot tell you how angry I'll be if he says, NO, not yet, we need to probably go ahead with the hystero/laparoscopy to check for any abnormalities.

I feel like saying 'Poor me', but I really don't want to fall into that pit! I want to be positive and optimistic. It just doesn't seem like we'll ever even get an opportunity to even TRY the 'immaculate' conception...

Hi girls!
Melissa, dear,I know exactly how you feel. But it's over now,at least you don't have to wonder or keep thinking of what desigion will be best. Now you know you have only 2 healthy babies in there . As they told me today ,it's the best sutiation for everybody, even it so sad that it had to be that way.
What's are they going to do next? How often they going to see you, what to check?
Nicole, yeah, your doctor sounds weird-when my dad had this done, they removed the polips right there without scheduling another appoitm.

Jamie,Lyly,girls- I'm so relieved today!Everything looks good,we had a very good doctor today(and our favorite nurse, she was crying with me from happiness),they 've spent a lot of time with us and it seems like we have a very good chance of having this baby. The doctor happened to be the "u/s queen" of the clinic and she looked very close at everything and said she have no concerns, baby was doing great, sucking his thumb, flipping around(still I couldn't really feel it!!!) And then to our surprise,it was in a perfect position and it turned to be...we are having a GIRL!!! She showed us how she can see it-it was 3 little lines, they call it a "hamburger".It still too early, but she said she is 90 % sure.WOW! I told her, after all we can't be just that lucky(of course we wanted a girl, but I didn't really care at this point, only if baby is alive and healthy) and she said she bet her this month salary on it
Well,I can't even tell you how relieved we were today. It just gives me a little by little the stronger hope.I just wish I felt a really good kicking to keep me from going nuts.
IVF#1-BFP,but lost our angel at 16 weeks
IVF#2-BFN
IVF#3-BFP,started w/tiplets,lost one at 7 weeks,lost a second at 15 weeks
Praying for a miracle baby to stay with us!
It's a girl!

Marina,

Oh Thank god!. I was half afraid to check in. Glad to hear you are going the joining the GIRLS ROCK CLUB!!!! :D

Melissa,

hope you are doing ok. Been thinking about you.

Debbie,

Cara is doing well. She was a sickie girl last week, but doing much better now. She is already 13 lbs. Being back to work sucks, but I'm getting into a routine now in the mornings. Mornings are still kinda crazy at my house, but do-able.

I have not heard from Reshema or Jenny for awhile. Jenny sent an email a couple weeks back and all the girls are home from the hospital and doing well. I imagine she doesn't have alot of time for any extras!
