Ian - I know how you feel about not seeing the heartbeat. Even though I've already seen two precious heartbeats, I still worry I won't see one or both. The wait for the 2nd u/s wasn't as bad as the first wait though..at least for me. I'm going to try to record the heartbeat or take a video with my cell tomorrow. I've been really nauseous. I haven't thrown up yet so I guess I'm lucky there but feeling nauseous isn't much better. The worst is when I feel nauseous and hungry at the same time. lol

Just had my first REAL dose of m/s here at work. My preggo coworker and I always practice a mind over matter thing where we wait out the nauseous and try to refocus our attention. Well it didn't work this morning and I went running to the bathroom, I sure hope this isn't the start of something. I was hoping to be one of the lucky ones who didn't experience the vommitting...silly me :P

My ultrasound went perfect! I was amazed at the difference between a 7 week scan and a 9 week scan. The babies grew so fast! I could see Baby A moving his or her arms and legs. Baby B was curled up and not moving as much. I could see the head moving a little and I think I saw a foot tapping. lol The heartbeats are now at 174 and 188. I was released to my regular OB doc and have my first appointment with him on May 15th. I'm still waiting to hear if I can stop my PIO shots.

Cymplicity - Wow! I envy you...I am at 9 weeks and still don't have any morning sickness. Some say I am one of the lucky ones, but I miss it so much!!! :-) Well, the other side is always greener :-)

Aims - I am very happy that your second u/s went well. Rock on!!!

I am yet to find a good OB!

Happy pregnancy days to all ladies!!

Tara.

Oh TARA!!! You are so fortunate!!! Enjoy it and the ride!

ok ladies- as far as being emotional, how's this: One day I just want to stay little/skinny, the next, I'm freaking out b/c I'm NOT showing yet and thinking the baby stopped growing!!!! ARG!

Anyone else suffering from ambivalence like this or even remotely similar? Sometimes, God forbid I actually write this out, but here goes: I wonder if we did the right thing, having another one at our age!!!

ianmichael3, I think it's an emotional rollercoaster for everyone and in different ways. My biggest thing is that DH and I have the BEST relationship and I love everything about it. We're like best friends and all of my energy goes into him and his into me. Well when this third person comes along, all that will change. I'm so afraid of what this new relationship will be like with this added responsibility and divided attention. Don't get me wrong, we want this baby more than ANYTHING but the thought of the changes it's going to bring terrifies me!! I know kids bring a whole new set of adventures, I just hope we can maintain "us" in the process. So this is my "thing" I guess...I think about it constantly!

Cynthia: It will definitely be different, but NOT in a bad way.... sure there will be struggles to overcome, but as grounded as you sound, which is very similar to me and my DH.... it has only increased the love among us. Ian has brought us so much happiness, but I think part of that is because we've both poured love into him- so, see? It will be relatively close to the way you describe the two of you! :)

Ian - I go to Dr. Scott at Women's Health Advantage. I've been on a emotional roller coaster too. Mainly mean one minute and nice the next. lol. I have sometimes wondered if it was a good time to have the baby for financial reasons. But if I wait til I'm rich, I'll never have a baby.

Same here aims. And to make matters worse DH will hopefully be starting law school full-time next year which will cut our income significantly! Some think we're crazy for starting law school and having a baby in the same year, but I consider us blessed and we always make a way. I'm lucky to have a daycare at work which is about 1/3 the cost of other daycares. I'll work full-time to get DH through law school so I can retire early and be a stay at home mom in a few years...that's the dream plan anyway

ianmichael, I'm sure it will be exactly as you've described. The unknown is just a little scary :)

Oh girls- last night was just from hell!!!! We are getting ready for a garage sale TOMORROW- DH, God love him, hasn't followed through on things he said he'd help with, so you can imagine the 'discussion' we had! UGH.... I'll be so glad when it's all gone done and over with :) YAY! And maybe have a little cash left over- which will of course go towards bills....

Money was a huge part of the reason we waited so long- DH felt like we never had enough- until he realized we never really will, but that somehow, we are always able to pay the bills!

So Cyn, I don't think you guys are crazy at all! At least you have a plan, which is more than most couples can say! And Aims- you can always get a good shopping fix from going to Once Upon A Child or Plato's Closet!!

We always seem to just have enough to get all the bills paid each month. But then I think about all the "toys" we buy here and there and how often we eat out and take a weekend getaway and know that all of that could be cut out to "finance" a baby. I have to say, I can't wait for a baby shower, LOL! I'm counting on my family to come through with the gifts  I have a pretty large family, I'm the baby and the last time there was a newborn around was 1999. So everyone is super excited. I also have an older sister who decided against kids with her dh and they can't wait to spoil their neice or nephew. They are already offering to babysit on a regular for us so we can have date nights :)

Wow ladies, I am 8 weeks pregnant!!! :D It seems like the weeks are flying by now. I'm still a little nervous though and will be until the ultrasound next Tuesday.

How is everyone feeling? No m/s this morning (yet). I brought some apples slices to snack on throughout the day so maybe that's been helping.

Nicole, I didn't realize how much I liked them until DH bought a bag of mixed apple slices last week and he figured out I was going through and picking out all the granny smith slices  Needless to say on his next visit to the grocery store I got my very own bag of granny smith apple slices :D I remembered reading that fruit could help curve m/s...so far so good!
